Below, you can find various tidbits of NFL Draft rumors and information offered by Mike Mayock, Michael Lombardi and the rest of the Path to the Draft crew on the NFL Network. I posted these in my forum, but I thought it would be better to keep all the draft rumors together in this section. I'll be tweeting these during Path to the Draft at @walterfootball.
Michael Lombardi: The Redskins are considering Ryan Mallett at No. 10. I talked to a source close to the team. He said, "Don't rule out Ryan Mallett."
Michael Lombardi: I'm convinced Ryan Mallett will go in the first round, somewhere between Nos. 1 and 20.
Brian Baldinger: I don't see Ryan Mallett fitting into the Redskins' offense. Mike Shanahan's legacy will be in doubt if he has problems with Mallett.
Brian Baldinger: I think Clay Matthews and Von Miller is a fair comparison.
Michael Lombardi: Marcell Dareus is the top defensive lineman in this class because he can rush the passer, he's powerful, he's athletic and explosive.
Michael Lombardi: The next-best lineman is Marvin Austin. He's a really talented player, athletic, big, physical, strong. Austin is closer to Dareus than any defensive tackle.
Michael Lombardi: We're going to look back in a few years and ask, why did Nick Fairley go before Marvin Austin?
Michael Lombardi: I see some red flags with Nick Fairley.
Brian Baldinger: The defensive lineman with the most risk is Da'Quan Bowers. The injury concerns overweigh everything else. Bowers is damaged goods.
Brian Baldinger: Da'Quan Bowers doesn't have great first-step quickness, which is a huge concern.
Bret Bielema: Ryan Kerrigan seems like he's been in the Big Ten for 10 years. The thing that stands out about him is the passion. He gained more and more strength as the year went on.
Steve Wyche: At the 22nd overall pick, it would be hard for the Colts to ignore some needs and draft a quarterback.
Steve Wyche: Andy Dalton would be a great fit for the Colts in the second round. If they move up, maybe they'll get him or Colin Kaepernick.
Steve Wyche: Wisconsin tackle Gabe Carimi could be a really good fit in Indianapolis. He may have to start on the right side, but they could groom him to eventually play left tackle.
Steve Wyche: If Mike Pouncey is on the board - and I don't think he will be - the Colts will give him serious consideration.
Steve Wyche: Somewhere in the middle rounds, the Colts will address their secondary. Marcus Gilchrist would be a good fit.
Brian Baldinger: Jabaal Sheard has a couple of good moves. He's a three-year starter. I think his stock is rising.
Steve Wyche: I talked to a couple of coaches today. Cameron Jordan is the name I'm hearing that a lot of people are very comfortable with. Teams really like him because he can run. Don't be surprised if he moves into the top 15.
