Prospect Summary:
Orhorhoro is from Nigeria and came to the United States of America when he was nine years old. Orhorhoro only played two seasons of high school football in Michigan before landing at Clemson. The Tigers have been a steady producer of defensive line talent for the NFL under Dabo Sweeney, and Orhorhoro will continue that streak the 2024 NFL Draft.
It didn’t take long before Orhorhoro made his presence felt. In 2021, there were big hopes for a dominant season for Bryan Bresee, but a torn ACL ended his season early and thrust Orhorhoro onto the field. Orhorhoro took advantage of the developmental time, recording 36 tackles and 2.5 sacks in a respectable debut. In 2022, Bresee was limited again and Orhorhoro showed a greater capacity to be a disruptor as he totaled 23 tackles with five passes batted, eight tackles for a loss and four sacks. While Breese moved onto the NFL, Orhorhoro did not have a big increase in production in 2023, notching 25 tackles, five sacks and one pass blocked.
Orhorhoro is a bit of a love/hate prospect with NFL team sources. Some teams think Orhorhoro is a mid-rounder, while others think he could be one of the best interior defensive linemen in this draft class.
Against the rush, Orhorhoro has the size and strength to hold his ground against downhill runs coming straight at him. He also can disrupt and make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Orhorhoro will use his quickness to shoot his gap and create havoc in the backfield. In 2023, Orhorhoro did not always play up to his skill set. He should have generated more tackles as a run defender.
In the 2024 NFL Draft, Orhorhoro is likely to be a second-day pick.
Prospect Comparison:
Taven Bryan. Orhorhoro is reminiscent of Bryan. Bryan (6-4, 291) and Orhorhoro are similar size with athleticism, but both have not produced up to their skill sets.
