Buffalo Bills (0-3) at Detroit Lions (1-2)
Line: Lions by 3.

The Game. Edge: None.
Outcomes of preseason games rarely have anything to do with the talent on the respective teams, since the majority of the games are played by second-, third- and fourth-stringers.

Some coaches care about winning preseason games, while others do not. Thus, betting on coaches with great preseason records is an easy way to make money.

Here are recent NFL Betting Trends: Preseason Records for every coach in the NFL.

As I discussed last week, Chan Gailey doesn't care about winning preseason games. Jim Schwartz does, so he may want to finish strong with a victory after losing at Oakland this past weekend.

Mike McCarthy doesn't give a damn about Week 4 preseason games. I'm not sure if Romeo Crennel does, but he may want to end the exhibition on a high note after getting blown out against Seattle.

I cannot believe the Eagles are favored by this much. Andy Reid completely mails in the last preseason game every year, so there's no reason the spread should be this high. Rex Ryan, meanwhile, will want his team to get into the end zone. This is my August NFL Pick of the Month because this line is so ridiculous.

Mike Tomlin is insane and loves to win these meaningless preseason games. Ron Rivera doesn't seem to care one way or the other. I wish this spread weren't larger than a field goal, but Pittsburgh is still worth a moderately sized wager; Tomlin has won all five of his Week 4 preseason games by 16, 16, 11, 3 and 16 ponts, so odds say that he's going to cover.

too much money on the heat...75% at minus 3 to 3.5

    Bulls plus 3.5 for me

too much public money on the clippers...72% at minus 3 to 3.5

    Spurs plus 3.5 for me..

two team teaser (5 pts) Bulls plus 8.5 and spurs plus 8.5

Prop bet i reallly like...boozer over 9.5 rebounds. the one area Miami has a weakness is rebounding. for the bulls to stay competative boozer has to crash the glass...i'll take boozer over 9.5 rebounds and I think he easily covers that by midway thru the 3rd qtr. Lots of defensive intensity means missed jumpers and contested lay-ups...i think boozer gets his mits on plenty of boards IF he stays out of foul trouble...

Final card for T!T MILK THURSDAY

CALIFORNIA +6 (off of recent play this game looks appealing and then the trends kick in and make this a BIG TIME play for the BTB!
CAL has defeated OREGON 10 straight
CAL is 4-1 SU in last 5 at OREGON
OREGON is 1-7 ATS In its last 8
OREGON is 0-5 ATS in last 5 @ HOME

ILLINI/SANDUSKY'S STEPCHILDREN OVER 130 (locked this baby in early and see that is sits at 132 currently. PENN ST has been playing fairly well and are not as bad on Offense as they were early in the season. I fully expect them to make it into the 60's with the ILLINI's uptempo game and high scoring offense putting them into the 70,s. I like it 75-63 ILLINI tonight)

CLIPPERS/SPURS OVER 200 (trends dont really support this as the last 2 btwn these teams have went UNDER. I am strictly using the eye test here. LAC plays great at HOME avg 103 PPG and SA avg that same 103 PPG on the ROAD. Despite 21 out of the last 25 games played in LA btwn these teams going UNDER. I elect the OVER as LAC is back to full strength and should try and run the SPURS outta STAPLES)

Gotta speed it up as games are about to start

    NHL

RANGERS ML -130 (NY is far superior to OTTAWA. Not too juicy)

JETS ML +140 (nice value as a dog and they tend to perform well as a sizeable road dog)

SABERS ML +110 (LEAFS still have to orive to me they can win cinsistently at HOME. Like the VALUE in BUFF tonight

6 plays and lets try and improve on a 6-3-1 week fellas. GL

I've only gotten a chance to look at the games up to 10 o'clock.

    Here's my thoughts

    Arkansas -11
UGA has covered their last 4 on the road and Arkansas has covered their last 4 at home, so one streak will end tonight. UGA doesn't score well consistently and have given up 68 points per game on the road. Arkansas averages 78 at home but only give up 63.8 at home, 5 less than their season average. UGA also turns the ball over 15 times a game and that's dangerous for a team that likes transition offense. I think the Backs roll at home

    Duke -12***
Duke has failed to cover 3 straight. I don't know why people are loving Va Tech (65% of bets) I guess it has been Duke's road struggles. Tech has played top competition tough, but they just lost a tough one @NC St. but they have lost by 11 at home to BC, 10 to Ga Tech and 16 to Virginia. Duke is 2-0 ATS following a loss, although both have come at home. However, they failed to cover the first of 2 straight road games at Wake earlier this year, only to follow up by beating down FSU in Tallahassee.

    Oregon -5.5
Cal is 4-0-1 ATS last 5 and are due for a loss. They trailed by 6 with 4 minutes left at home vs Oregon before scoring 10 straight to close out the game. Oregon is pretty good at home even without Artis they have outscored their opponents by 5.5 points. I know they have played some weak competition (even for the Pac12) lately but I think they can turn the tables on Cal

    To:

    Anyone following my race pics.

Both Blundered today and basically made mistakes going over hurdles. Rye Martini should have placed but was a huge dissapointment.

Anyways I will be back with some more. Today I did warn not to go big so hopefully no one did. I will continue to post my picks but lay small and when I give a good tip you will know it. Thanks for the encouragement jmac and prop joe. I am knew at this but have made a profit from racing this past year (and only racing, everything else I lose so I will stick with what I know).I will hopefully continue to pick winners more ofter than losers. AGAIN go Small and I will post a big tip once and awile. Cheers!

    clonmel (irish racing)

    Anonis 2:25 (Win and/or Place)

    Rye Martini 2:55 e/w (Win and/or Place)

e/w bet. Irish racing has been tricky as of late, and although I am confident...I would still not go too crazy with this one.

Knicks are one of the few teams in the NBA that can make the Pacers offense look supreme. If pacers chose to push hard in the second half, I have no doubt that they could have ended up with 150 points tonight. Can ya tell I had the Under in this game?? Back at them on Friday, there are two games tomorrow, but at the moment I don't see a clear cut winner in any of them. Congrats to winners and GLTA.

I am back and under just guru now...my train needed pretty much an overhaul so we should be on the way to the promised land starting tonight!

Xavier they have played bad lately but need to get the ship righted before tourney time and what better team than Rhode Island to do so

Alabama I will bet anyone playing Mississippi State and TCU

Oakland IPFW has played better but Oakland is hitting stride at the right time...big win

Only NBA pick is Cleveland tonight...Irving is a baller and will not lose in the spotlight tonight...No Eric Gordon only helps!

I also like Boston but will not officially list them as a pick

I didn't see anything in NHL but if I change my mind I will let you know...ALL ABOARD and lets win some $$$$$

Lockin it in early as i am gonna be busy beveraging, and getting ready for the C's/LAKERS tonight. Doggystyle sex is def in the forecast and its only appropriate that today is "WET MY WHISTLE WEDNESDAY!!!"

    NBA

CAVS -2.5 (i think KYRIE is gonna ride his BIG TIME showing at all-star wkd and lead the CAVS to a nice 2nd half starting tonighht against NO. The HORNETS got roughed up at HOME by CHI-CITY last night and a quick turn around travel for a back-to-back minus ERIC GORDON.....i will take KYRIE on national TV to shine)

CELTICS +7 (sure their balls are old and they played at altitude last night and will prob be tired as an undermaned squad, but the LAKERS always get TOO MUCH credit. LA may win tonight but the C's nearly beat 1 of the best at HOME in the NBA last night. They should keep it closer than 7. UNDER 195 looks attractive as well. I think everyone is banking on the DR BUSS tribute to spark the LAKERS, but only KOBE had a true relationship with the man and hes always ready to play. I expect the same ol song with LAL)

OHIO ST/MINNI UNDER 126 (this is gonna be a PIG!!! I cant lay the -6 with OHIO ST. They have been way too inconsistent but MINNI sucks on the ROAD. Both teams have been struggling to score and have stout D's. Lets do this in the low 60's or mid 50's. 61-54 BUCKEYE)

ARIZONA -12.5 ( the CATS should GAPE the DOGS tonight. WASH plain sucks and are barely puttimg forth an effort. Meanwhile AZ just came off a split at COLO and a win at UTAH. Neither pretty especially that beating they took in BOUKDER. They return HOME and will put it on a UW team that is struggling to win HOME games against the likes of OREGON ST. AZ defeated UW on the ROAD earlier and thats when UW was actually playing decent ball. Now they are a shell of their former sekf and prob lose this one by close to 20 if not more

JUST the 4 games tonight. If i were gonna make a NHL play it would be FLAMES ML. Not confident enough in OK STATE toniight at HOME even though i think their crowd could help get them the W

    Good luck to all tongiht
