Needs to become a more reliable three-point shooter
Often more worried about trying to draw contact than finishing
Not a great isolation player
Lacks NBA-level athleticism
Summary: Jimmy Butler will not wow you with any certain area of his game, but he does a little bit of everything to help his team on the floor. He likely will end up going undrafted, but might be selected late in the second round if a team feels his versatility, especially on the defensive end, can earn him a roster spot.
Player Comparison: Maurice Evans. A journey man throughout his NBA career, Evans is known for his intangibles and ability to defend more than anything else. Butler will have to follow a similar path if he is going to find a home at the next level since he is not a huge offensive threat.
I really don't understand why you keep bashing the 49ers contracts. You have to overpay for guys when you have one of the worst rosters in the NFL. Beyond that, they have nearly $70 mill in cap space even after free agency, so what's the big deal if they overspend?
