2015-16 Team Salary: Approximately $60.7 million

NBA Offseason Team Needs:

1. Re-sign Jordan: With little cap space available, the Clippers really don’t have much of a choice and have to do whatever it takes to re-sign DeAndre Jordan. They will likely have to shell out a ton of cash to keep their anchor down low, but withno chance of finding a capable replacement, they are sort of handcuffed. Jordan should be highly sought after by several other teams, but L.A. holds an advantage since the club can sign him to a larger and longer contract than any other team.

2. Frontcourt Depth: Even if Jordan does return to L.A., the Clippers needs to find depth inside since Glen Davis is a free agent and they dealt Spencer Hawes to Charlotte as part of the Lance Stephenson trade. Finding suitable reserves behind Jordan and Blake Griffin has been a challenge and revolving door, but due to the organization’s cap situation, cheap veterans are really the only option the Clippers have to fill this void.

3. Backup Point Guard: The Clippers signed Jordan Farmar last summer in hopes that he would serve as Chris Paul’s backup. That did not pan out though as Farmar was let go when L.A. acquired Austin Rivers. With Rivers a free agent, the Clippers don’t have a true backup for Paul and must address that need this summer if they are unable to re-sign Rivers.
