NBA Trade Analysis - June 28



Houston Rockets Get: 12th pick in 2012 NBA Draft, G-Shaun Livingston, PF-Jon Leuer, F/C-Jon Brockman
Minnesota Timberwolves Get: 14th pick in 2012 NBA Draft, C-Samuel Dalembert


Why this makes sense for Houston:

GM Daryl Morey continues to stockpile assets, moving up two spots so they now own the 12th, 16th, and 18th picks. The Rockets likely aren't done dealing yet as they will try and trade up again in hopes of potentially landing Dwight Howard. Leuer and Brockman add depth inside in case Luis Scola ends up being traded. Livingston provides needed depth on the wing to help replace Chase Budinger who was dealt to Minnesota yesterday.




Why this makes sense for Milwaukee:

The Bucks have a need for a true big man since dealing Andrew Bogut. They find a temporary replacement in Dalembert who will be entering the final year of his contract. Milwaukee doesn't really give up any key pieces and only moves down two spots in the 2012 NBA Draft. Expect the Bucks to now focus on adding a wing player with the 14th pick; specifically Washington's Terrence Ross if he's still on the board.

How about a 'loser' ranking for the Cavs for reaching so much for Dion Waiters? Or trading all their other picks for another likely bust in Tyler Zeller?
