2012 NBA Trade Deadline: Five Players Likely to Be Traded - March 8
Steve Nash, Suns
I admire the loyalty that Steve Nash and the Suns organization have shown to one another, but it really seems to be in the best of both parties' interests to part ways. Nash is 38 years old and a free agent after this season, and he deserves one last chance to win a ring (which he is not going to get in Phoenix.) The Suns simply don't have the talent surrounding Nash to be a real player in the Western Conference and would be wise to begin the post-Nash re-building effort now rather than risk losing him for nothing this summer in free agency. If both sides decide it is time to move on from one another, Nash will likely be moved before the deadline.
Michael Beasley, Timberwolves
There have already been reports that the Lakers turned down Minnesota's offer of Beasley for their trade exception and a first-round pick. Expect the rumors to pick up steam from here on out about Beasley since he is a restricted free agent after this season and has a qualifying offer in access of $8.1 million. Trading Beasley would open up playing time for Derrick Williams, who has found sporadic minutes during his rookie season, but has the shown the potential to be as good as his second-overall pick status. It would also allow the Timberwolves to possibly add a needed scoring guard or more future assets (we all know how much GM David Kahn LOVES assets.)
Chris Kaman, Hornets
The post-CP3 Hornets are clearly in re-building mode and would be foolish not to trade Kaman in hopes of acquiring some assets for the future. He is a free agent after this season and it is highly unlikely that he will be re-signing with New Orleans since it already have Emeka Okafor locked up to a long-term contract and will be focusing their attention on re-signing restricted free agent Eric Gordon. Several teams would love to acquire a big man for the stretch run so the Hornets should be able to get a mixture of young talent, expiring contracts and/or draft picks in exchange for Kaman.
Stephen Jackson, Bucks
In his first season in Milwaukee, Jackson hasn't exactly fit in with the Bucks and head coach Scott Skiles. He has battled injury, but even when healthy, he has seen his playing time dip as of late. Jackson recently had a brief but poignant rant on Twitter saying, "If u call wanting to earn your money and wanting to win a 'Headcase' then I'm that. Been a great teammate for 12 yrs. Ask anyone." A change of scenery would greatly benefit Jackson, and I'm sure the Bucks would love to find a suitor for his services.
Kirk Hinrich, Hawks
Hinrich is on the books for $8 million dollars this season and becomes a free agent after this season. Atlanta has been somewhat decimated by injuries to star players Joe Johnson and Al Horford. Without a ton of depth on their roster, it could turn Hinrich and a draft pick to some team looking to shed some salary so the Hawks could add a couple of pieces.

How are the lakers not a winner? Steve Nash brings them to at least championship contender which they weren't a year ago. They also picked up Antwan Jamison for the league minimum which will give their front court a legitament reserve. One more good move could make them the favorites over OKC.

I believe you are the only on one the planet that thinks Dallas didn't completely fail in this offseason. They basically rolled the dice and crapped out.
Try mixing in a little reality with your opinions once in a while, but it's your site so we get what we pay for I guess.

While Houston did have bad signings and a suspect draft, the team did what it could to set its self up for the free agency period next year..Asik has shown signs of being a solid big Guy(as you fail to mention his MPG) and Lin, while being highly overrated, is a big name that will attract a player like JSmith, Harden, Bynum etc. I don't like their moves as of right now, but with two lottery picks and possibly two Max contracts signing on this might be one of the better offseasons of all time.
Love the site, keep it up.

Also the nuggets need a star and Howard would be a perfect fit for them and they have shooters around him and they could still use their amnesty on Richardson

Wouldnt it make sense 4 the nuggets to trade for dwight howard
Nuggets trade Wilson Chandler Andre Miller JaVale McGee 2014 1st round pick 2015 1st round pick 2015 2nd round pick 2017 1st round pick Magic trade Dwight Howard J.J. Redick Jason Richardson This makes sense because the nuggets drafted Evan Fournier(SG/SF) and Quincy Miller(SF) and have Jordan Hamilton(SF/SG) and Julian Stone(PG)(who the team is really high on) waiting in the wings. It also allows the magic to dump bad salary(Richardson,Redick) and still get some great players. Win win situation.

Again Banks is clueless, claiming Eric Gordon has already re-signed with New Orleans.
Also the 'Clippers' weren't involved in the Marvin Williams/Devin Harris trade. Does this guy even proof read anything he writes? Atrocious.

To be totally honest, Henson and Zeller wouldn't be any better than Meyers Leonard. They are all going to bust.
