2014 NBA Mock Draft: Round 1 - Picks 16-30
2014 NBA Mock Draft: Round 2
NBA Mock Drafts from previous years

2014 NBA Mock Draft Updated: June 26, 2014.

Team needs and outstanding trades have been taken into account with this 2014 NBA Mock Draft.

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers: Andrew Wiggins, SF, Kansas, 6-8, Fr.
The Cavs are still actively pursuing trade options, but if they stick at No. 1, they will choose between Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker. Cleveland's biggest need is at small forward since Luol Deng is a free agent, and all along I've felt that Wiggins would a better fit than Parker alongside Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters.

  2. Milwaukee Bucks: Jabari Parker, SF, Duke, 6-8, Fr.
The Bucks have a small forward of the future in last year's first-round pick, Giannis Antetokounmpo, but they cannot pass on Parker at this point. Milwaukee needs a go-to scoring option, and Parker should be a 20+-points-per-game scorer in the NBA and ready to be an immediate impact player.

  3. Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid, C, Kansas, 7-0, Fr.
This is where the Embiid situation starts to get interesting as where he ends up going is the biggest x-factor of the 2014 NBA Draft. The 76ers took an injured Nerlens Noel last year, but I am not sure they can afford to roll the dice again this time around. Then again, the team is in a rebuilding mode, so why not take a chance and hope he and Noel can one day make the reward outweigh the risk.

  4. Orlando Magic: Dante Exum, G, Australia, 6-6, 1995
With Orlando holding a team option on the final year of Jameer Nelson's contract, the Magic should address its need for a point guard of the future. Here, Dante Exum falls right into Orlando's lap. He is long, athletic, versatile combo guard who would be a solid fit alongside Victor Oladipo.

  5. Utah Jazz: Noah Vonleh, PF, Indiana, 6-10, Fr.
I think Noah Vonleh is a solid fit due to his versatility on the offensive end and would give them something that neither Derrick Favors nor Enes Kanter can. Plus, Kanter becomes a restricted free agent next summer, and I doubt Utah will be jumping at the opportunity of signing him to a long-term extension.

  6. Boston Celtics: Aaron Gordon, PF, Arizona, 6-9, Fr.

Though still raw offensively and a tweener forward, Aaron Gordon is a ridiculous athlete and terrific defender who should be a solid role player in the NBA. Marcus Smart would also be an option here since Rajon Rondo is entering the final year of his contract.

  7. Los Angeles Lakers: Julius Randle, PF, Kentucky, 6-9, Fr.
There has been some recent speculation that teams are souring on Julius Randle because of an old foot injury. The Lakers' roster is wide open with needs all over, and the club could use a physical and athletic post player like Randle. There is also a very good chance L.A. ends up trading this pick for a veteran.

  8. Sacramento Kings: Marcus Smart, PG, Oklahoma State, 6-4, Soph.
The Kings are looking to change their losing ways, and Marcus Smart is a fierce competitor who can impact the game in numerous ways. He would bring something to the Sacramento backcourt that restricted free agent Isaiah Thomas does not.

  9. Charlotte Hornets: Doug McDermott, SF, Creighton, 6-8, Sr.
The Bobcats need to add a shooter, and Dougie McBuckets can fill it up from anywhere on the floor. Charlotte also wants to build off its playoff appearance, and McDermott is ready to step in from Day 1 and be a contributor.

  10. Philadelphia 76ers: Nik Stauskas, SG, Michigan, 6-6, Soph.
The Sixers still need to find somebody capable of knocking down outside shots. Nik Stauskas is a sharpshooter from the outside, which fits a need for a Philly team searching for a perimeter threat.

  11. Denver Nuggets: Elfrid Payton, G, LA-Lafayette, 6-4, Jr.
The Ragin' Cajun flew under the radar a bit nationally this season, but he is a versatile combo guard who can stuff the stat sheet and seems to be rising up draft boards. The Nuggets don't have any glaring needs, so they can take the best overall prospect.

  12. Orlando Magic: Dario Saric, SF, Croatia, 6-10, 1993
Dario Saric is a versatile forward who can stretch defenses with his outside shooting. However, he recently signed a contract extension overseas, so he likely won't come to the NBA for at least two years. Ergo, whichever NBA team selects him must have patience. With their second first-round pick, the Magic can roll the dice and hope Saric is worth the wait.

Orlando owns the Nuggets' pick from the Dwight Howard four-team trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2014 NBA Draft Trades.

  13. Minnesota T-Wolves: Gary Harris, SG, Michigan State, 6-4, Soph.
The T-Wolves are an interesting team to watch this offseason with the Kevin Love rumors picking up steam. If Love remains on the roster, Minnesota needs to add some scoring punch off the bench. Gary Harris is a talented all-around player who get it done on either end of the floor.

  14. Phoenix Suns: James Young, SG, Kentucky, 6-6, Fr.
The Suns' biggest focus with their three first-round picks will be adding talent to their wing. James Young has great size for an NBA wing and one of the smoothest strokes in this draft class.

  15. Atlanta Hawks: Kyle Anderson, G/F, UCLA, 6-9, Soph.
Kyle Anderson is one of the more unique prospects in recent years since he is really a point guard in a forward's body. Scouts either love him or question how he will transition to the next level. Anderson has worked out twice for the Hawks, a team in need of depth and an upgrade of talent on the wing,

hard to argue with any of what you said, my only worry is with Napier because of UConns track record of PGs that can hit the 3 that don't translate to the NBA for whatever reason, and there's been a whole lot over the last decade, Kemba Walker is pretty much the only one that's made the transition.. as a Spurs fan, i'd love to see McGary fall into our laps in the 1st, and Kane in the second round.. can't see Ennis getting by Toronto at 20, and like i said, Napier worries me a bit, the talent and playmaking is there though

Hornets should draft Dougie McBuckets because they get more scoring at the 3 compared to MKG and they 3 point shooting which they lacked this season.

If Wiggins and Parker is gone at No. 3, the Sixers should draft julius randle at no. 3 because, then thad young could move down to the 3, he would be a go to scorer for the team, and if sixers draft exum they get a copy of mcw and if they get embiid, they get another center that they have to wait for to be healed. At No. 10 if Nik Stauskas is gone they should draft Gary Harris because they get a shooting gaurd that while be a little undersized for defending his position makes up for it with hustle, speed, and determination.

The Sixers taking two backcourt players, the Kings getting another interior player and the Nuggets getting a player whose skillset in VERY similar to Gallinari's. Rondo-Bradley-Green-Gordon... Do the Celts plan to have someone who can actually shoot the ball?

Oh, and the Lakers will take a player ready to contribute, they cant afford to stink up the joint for anther year.

Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins are both 6'9". Parker measured at 6'9" exactly in shoes and Wiggins measured 6'8" 3/4.

Marcus Smart is also 6'3", as he measured in at 6'3" 1/4 in shoes.

Here are a couple of moves I think the sixers should explore.

The Bulls. The Bulls want Anthony and need to clear space

Boozer, Dunleavy picks 16, and 19 for picks 39, 54 and Jason Richerson

Bulls clear 14 million in this deal

The Rockets who also want Anthony

Asike and 25 for pick 32

Rockets clear 9 million

Third Sac

Sac is looking to deal the 8th pick

Sac 8th pick for Dunleavy and pick 16 and 25

Sac gets the vetern who can shoot plus two later picks to add more assets

Lakers want to dumb Nash

Lakers give Nash and pick 7 for pick 10 and Thad Young

clev 1st for 3-19,47,52 and a future 1s sixers get there guy in wiggins

They still have the 7th and 8th pick. Maybe package to move up or take two.

The sixers biggest assets in this draft is 30 million in cap space. In these trades they take on 19 million. Boozer is one year deal. So they'll gain cap space back next year. All teams win except maybe the sac trade may be a stretch

That Bulls scenario doesn't make any sense, Boozer can be amnestied to save that money, they don't need to send away picks on top of it..

Your bulls tades make even less sense because boozer has huge value now because he is in the final year of that contract and he can still play so almost every team will take him to clear cap space.

I hate to tell you but the no.1 pick is worth more than what the 76ers have this year and NO they don't want thad young soit would take 3 and 10 plus 2 unprotected first round picks.

It says this mock was updated today, June 20th, yet you still have Joel Embiid being picked first. He is going to be out 4-6 months. He will not be the first overall pick. Damnit, Walter, come on.

Why does it say that you posted new scouting reports in the previous days but aren't any? Well except for 6/20 with Bachynski. Maybe was it a glitch or they were just unposted by accident?

These are the Underrated prospects in my opinion.

DeAndre Kane PG Iowa St- This kids a beast. He might be alittle older but so what. He can flat out score, and is a good distributor. Without him, Iowa St. dosen't have nearly the success they had this past yr.

Mitch McGary PF Mich- Just a yr ago at this time, people had McGary as a top 10 lock , but Injuries have zapped his prospect status. Well hes gonna heal up, and might take awhile to fulfill his potential but when done, he should be a physical player in the box both offensively and defensively. I see poor mans Kevin Love without the ability to draing the 3.

Tyler Ennis /Shabazz Napier PG's- These 2 are gonna be really good and in Ennis's case, I think his shot becomes more consistent over time. Nappier is flat out a playmaker who can fill it up from 3. Also hes a winner. I love both these players .

During this summer league I would really like 2 see will Barton take the next step as a bball player. Starting with his jump shot and three pointer his defense is descent but can be way better he's above average slasher which mean he should work on free throws 2. Myers Leonard work on everything please lol watch splitters games and know u have all the tools and tangible 2 be better then him. CJ like his jump shot will be a great defender in about a year or 2. Trob free throws and low post offence maybe jump shot 10-15ft out.

Don't be surprise if Giannis Antetokounmpo's brother Thanisis climbs into the first round.Thanisis is quite the athlete and has decent handles(not like his brother's however)though could stand to improve a few things(like his jump shot)but he's an interesting prospect for between the 24th and 40th pick and I'm willing to bet it'll be a lot closer to 24 than 40.

Everyone better take notice of Charlotte! The Hornets are about to run wild on the NBA, and Jordon's going to finish his collect of rings, so he'll have one for every finger! BEE aware, BEE prepared...the NBA is about to have a BUZZ that will last a lifetime!

There's enough room on this bandwagon for everybody, so let's all get horny and buzzed!

I'd love to see Cleveland draft Wiggins, then in the 2nd rd, get eiher Early (sf witchita st) or Deandre Daniels (sf UConn), either one can provide much needed scoring off the CAVS bench! Go CAVS!

Why would Minnesota take two non lottery picks, plus an expensive often injured veteran, who the only thing they can really do is amnesty him,so they still don't have ANYTHING to show for trading Love

As much as I hate it, it sounds like Hawes won't be back. I don't understand at all why they aren't going after him but it seems like a foregone conclusion that he's gonna be gone.

Turner takes too many days off.. He can be great, but he takes days off. Good move getting rid of him....keeping Thad who works hard EVERY day was a smart move, he will be a good leader, by example.. I like what 76ers are doing....now we see who falls to number 3...that will help decide who they take at 10.. unless...they move Thad for anoter top 5 draft pick... after going after Love and Lebron in free agency. They could be running at champinonship sooner then most thought possible..

Sixers need power forward to go along with the team build up .. Aron Gordan is the man as I see .. unless Embiid falls to us.. than that changes the next pick..then I say Mcdermitt or shooting guard..

Stauskas is a better shooter than Young hands down. He shot 44% fro 3 land in his 2 years at Michigan. 76ers will take him over Young.
