Updated: May 22, 2013.
Team needs and outstanding trades have been taken into account with this mock draft.
-
Boston Celtics: Kelly Olynyk, 7-0, C, Gonzaga, Jr.
The Celtics could use a big man inside, and the "Dazed and Confused" looking big man made huge strides with his game this year. He is a skilled, but not very physical, seven-footer. -
Atlanta Hawks: Gorgui Dieng, C, Louisville, 6-11, Jr.
The Hawks will be going through a roster transition this offseason and will likely take the best available player at this option. Gorgui Dieng could add some frontcourt depth alongside Al Horford. -
Atlanta Hawks: Giannas Antetokounmpo, SF, Greece, 6-9, 1994
With Josh Smith likely leaving via free agency, the Hawks could use an athletic forward, which Giannis Adetokunbo certainly is. He also has a unique skill set for his size as he could play a point forward-type position and might end up being taken in the late lottery.
Atlanta owns the Rockets' pick (via Brooklyn/Terrence Williams trade) from the Joe Johnson trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2013 NBA Draft Trades. -
Cleveland Cavaliers: Steven Adams, C, Pittsburgh, 7-0, Fr.
Steven Adams turned some heads at the NBA Draft Combine and has the ideal size for an NBA big. He still needs time to develop before he'll be ready to be a real contributor, but could be worth a roll of the dice for the Cavaliers with their second first-round pick.
Cleveland owns the Lakers' pick (via the Miami/LeBron James trade.) Go here to see all of the outstanding 2013 NBA Draft Trades. -
Chicago Bulls: Jeff Withey, C, Kansas, 7-0, Sr.
I think the Bulls either look for a shooting guard or depth inside, and take the best available of those options. Jeff Withey is a great shot blocker and Chicago loves defensive-minded players. He could help replace what the Bulls lost in Omer Asik last offseason. -
Utah Jazz: Mason Plumlee, PF, Duke, 7-0, Sr.
Since the Jazz addressed its need for a point guard with its lottery selection, the team turn its attention to frontcourt depth since Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap are both free agents.
Utah owns the Warriors' pick (via the Brooklyn/Marcus Williams trade) from the Deron Williams trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2013 NBA Draft Trades. -
Brooklyn Nets: Tim Hardaway Jr., SG, Michigan, 6-6, Jr.
The Nets need depth all across the board and will look at the best available player who can provide a punch off the bench. Tim Hardaway Jr. doesn't wow in any particular area of his game, but he is a solid all-around player. -
Indiana Pacers: Dennis Schroeder, PG, Germany, 6-2, 1993
Drafting a power forward makes sense since David West is in the final year of his deal, but it will be hard to pass on adding a talented point guard like Dennis Schroeder. He really turned heads at the Nike Hoops Summit. Schroeder could easily be a late lottery pick, so this would be a great grab at No. 23. -
New York Knicks: Mouhammadu Jaiteh, PF/C, France, 6-11, 1994
Although Jaiteh is a project big man, he's worth taking at this point. -
Los Angeles Clippers: Tony Mitchell, F, North Texas, 6-9, Soph.
The Clippers really need to add some froncourt depth, and though Tony Mitchell doesn't bring a ton of physicality inside, he is a terrific athlete and rebounder. -
Minnesota Timberwolves: Lucas Noguiera, C, Brazil, 7-0, 1992
Having gone with a wing in the lottery, the Timberwolves turn their attention to adding some size inside. Lucas Noguiera has been on scouts' radars for quite some time due to his size and athleticism.
Minnesota owns the Grizzlies' first-round pick (via the Rockets/Shane Battier trade) from the Donatas Motiejunas trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2013 NBA Draft Trades. -
Denver Nuggets: Reggie Bullock, G/F, North Carolina, 6-7, Jr.
With Andre Iguodala holding a player option on his contract and Corey Brewer a free agent, the Nuggets should look to add some insurance on the wing. Reggie Bullock has great size for his position and can stroke it from distance. -
San Antonio Spurs: Sergey Karasev, SF, Russia, 6-7, 1993
The Spurs could use depth on the wing or inside. Segey Karasev is a crafty scorer who can light it up from deep and would perfectly onto the Spurs roster. -
Oklahoma City Thunder: Jamaal Franklin, SG, San Diego State, 6-5, Jr.
The versatile Aztec would add insurance on the wing if Kevin Martin leaves via free agency. -
Phoenix Suns: Ricky Ledo, G/F, Providence, 6-6, Fr.
The Suns add another wing player with plenty of potential. Because he was ineligible, Ricky Ledo didn't play a single game for the Friars this season, but he is athletic and has great size for his position.
Phoenix owns the Heat's pick (via Lakers/Steve Nash trade.) Go here to see all of the outstanding 2013 NBA Draft Trades.

@jason if Cavs trade back won't be able to get Porter. Wizards would run up to the Podium if he fell to them

I can only see Lebron returning to Cleveland, if Miami does not win the championship again. if they win again, he stays in Miami.

The no.1 pick could be anyone at this point. While Porter looks like the favorite since they need a SF. However there is speculation that Lebron ops out after next year and makes his triumphent return to Cleveland so this could be anyone at this point. They like Waiters at SG and Irving is a all star PG. Thomphson is the PF and Zeller is the C. The most likely scenario is a trade right now. If they are confident Lebron wants to return then they should ship this pick away to acquire a couple 1st rounders and build depth. Someone will fall in love and will be willing to deal players or multiple picks to move up.

It's not about where Noels is now. It's about where he is going to be 2-3 years from now. He has the highest ceiling of the top players in this draft. The Cavs can get a SF with there 2nd 1st round draft pick.

As usual Walters inability to work at his trade or just to copy someone else's mock in the NFL shows up here as well in the NBA. Muhammad is a head case. he wont play defense he isnt fast or quick enough or care enough to learn it. He is a one demensional player a jump shooter. He says he is a scorer but is he really at UCLA he averaged less then 17 points a game and his shooting percentage was trash. If Dumars picks him he should be fired...he will be anyway but sooner then later..Their isnt alot of talent but their are some players still on Walters board that if he knew anything about them or the team he would put them in the right spot. McCollum, Pope, adn Crabbe are much better players and prospects then Muhammad.

No way Franklin falls all the way to 29. As a Thunder fan i would love that but Franklin is a for sure top 20 pick. People might think he is a reach at 12 but I would consider taking him there if I was the Thunder. At 29 I would go Glen Rice Jr an in the 2nd I would take a shot at Pelle. I have watched several videos of Pelle and he def has potential.

If Noel is so high in everybody's mind and Porter is the player the Cavs can use the most, doesn't it make more sense for the Cavs to trade down. Porter will be there at four or five and the Cavs could get another pick for this year or next by trading down with any team 2-5.

As a Cavs fan I'd definitely take Porter over Noel. He's more NBA ready and fills a position of need.

I agree that the Rockets need depth at guard past Patrick Beverly. Some would say (me being one) Lin is depth BEHIND Beverly. I like Myck Kabongo to the Rockets.

Schroeder will go earlier than to Cavs with their second. Bullock should be higher on the board. Thunder will take best scorer with their first pick not at center. Lack of scoring showed up with the loss of Westbrook. Cavs take Mclemore. Porter is best SF but has no upside. They wont take Noel with Varejao back and Zellar coming off a decent season for a young player. They will get a small forward though with a later pick maybe one of the foreigner. I can see them trading up with all the picks they have to get 2 guys they really want instead of 1 and hoping for another with 3 later picks. Unless they pick players with big upside with their final three for some trade value later. Again no way Cavs go Porter with pick one. He was a solid college player but he has almost peaked. Im a floridian and the Magic could trade down and take olidipo. Vucevic is a stud they do not need another center. They need a PG or SG with good handling. Dont rip me but i want feedback. If im the Cavs im taking Otto Porter 1st he can score and defend. Noel can't score and he's thin will get pushed around by PF's and Centers.
