Updated: May 22, 2013.

Team needs and outstanding trades have been taken into account with this mock draft.

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers: Otto Porter, SF, Georgetown, 6-8, Soph.
I don't get the fascination with handing Nerlens Noel the No. 1 spot. Does Cleveland need another offensively challenged frontcourt player? No. They Cavaliers are lacking a true small forward and Otto Porter would be the perfect fit here. His all-around ability would be a terrific young piece to add to the talented young backcourt of Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters. The only scenario I could see Cleveland taking Noel is if the team is ready to trade Anderson Varejao - which is a possible scenario.

  2. Orlando Magic: Nerlens Noel, PF, Kentucky, 7-0, Fr.
The re-building Magic could use improved talent all across the board and adding an athletic shot blocker like Noel would be a nice piece to add alongside the promising Nikola Vucevic. If Noel does go No. 1, look for Orlando to target Trey Burke or Ben McLemore.

  3. Washington Wizards: Anthony Bennett, PF, UNLV, 6-8, Fr.
With their backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal set for the foreseeable future, the Wizards pass on Burke and McLemore, and turn their attention to Anthony Bennett who would provide a needed spark at power forward. If Cleveland ends up picking Noel, Porter won't fall past this pick.

  4. Charlotte Hornets: Ben McLemore, SG, Kansas, 6-5, Fr.
Neither Ben Gordon nor Gerald Henderson appear to be the long-term answer at shooting guard for the Hornets, so Ben McLemore gives the team a needed scorer and shooter on the wing to go alongside Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

  5. Phoenix Suns: Victor Oladipo, SG, Indiana, 6-4, Jr.
The Suns sorely need and upgrade of talent on the wing and should target someone like Ben McLemore or Victor Oladipo. With McLemore off the board at this point, Victor Oladipo is the selection.

  6. New Orleans Pelicans: Trey Burke, PG, Michigan, 6-1, Soph.
Greivis Vasquez had a breakout season for the Hornets, but Trey Burke played himself into a top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft during the NCAA Tournament and is the best option here for the young Pelicans.

  7. Sacramento Kings: Alex Len, C, Maryland, 7-1, Soph.
The Kings are in a "best available player" position and Alex Len is a skilled seven-footer with a lot of potential. A small forward like Shabazz Muhammad would also be an option.

  8. Detroit Pistons: Shabazz Muhammad, G/F, UCLA, 6-6, Fr.
With a young frontcourt of Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond intact, the Pistons should focus on improving their wing play. Shabazz Muhammad is dropping on big boards and fits a need, but Detroit might be better served selecting a big like Alex Len to build depth up front.

  9. Minnesota Timberwolves: C.J. McCollum, SG, Lehigh, 6-3, Sr.
The Timberwolves have been searching for a true a shooting guard, but could also use some depth at center since Nikola Pekovic is a restricted free agent. McCollum missed a good chunk of this past season due to injury and is a bit undersized, but can score the basketball.

  10. Portland Trail Blazers: Dario Saric, F, Croatia, 6-10, 1994
The Trail Blazers need depth all across the board, and Dario Saric is a prototypical, versatile European prospect with great fundamentals for his size. He could provide Portland with a versatile scoring option off the bench.

  11. Philadelphia 76ers: Cody Zeller, C, Indiana, 7-0, So.
Though I think Zeller is a massively overrated NBA prospect due to a lack of physicality, the 76ers could use some size inside. Another option for Philadelphia would be adding depth on the wing.

  12. Oklahoma City Thunder: Rudy Gobert, C, France, 7-2, 1992
This is a luxury pick for the Thunder, so the team can take a chance on an athletic big with a huge wingspan (7-9) and allow him time to develop.

Oklahoma City owns the Raptors' pick (via the Houston/Kyle Lowry) from the James Harden trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2013 NBA Draft Trades.

  13. Dallas Mavericks: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG, Georgia, 6-5, Soph.
With O.J. Mayo already saying he will opt out of his contract, the Mavericks need a shooting guard. A point guard could also be an option since since Darren Collison is a restricted free agent.

  14. Utah Jazz: Michael Carter-Williams, PG, Syracuse, 6-6, Soph.
With no point guard under contract for next season, the Jazz will likely use one of its first round picks on a floor general. Michael Carter-Williams is one of the top pure point guards in college basketball.

  15. Milwaukee Bucks: Allen Crabbe, SG, California, 6-6, Jr.
The Bucks will be looking for backcourt depth, specifically at shooting guard, since Monta Ellis has a player option on the final year of his deal and J.J. Redick is an unrestricted free agent.

Alex Oriakhi is not declaring for the NBA. He is transffering from UConn. This according to his father in the Lowell Sun

Also, you don't have Austin Rivers G Duke listed as declaring. he won't get past the Celtics at 17 (His father is Celtics coach Doc Rivers).

Yea, Nash, Plumlee, Rivers,Q.Miller and Melo are all probably coming out this year. So projecting them to the 2013 draft is a little far fetched.

The Cavs own the Heat's 2013 first round pick, and (from the Sessions trade) have the right to swap it with the Lakers 2013 first round pick, so the Cavs should have pick #22 and the Lakers get pick #30.

Absolutely hate the decision you have the Cavs making on Beal vs. Waiters. I don't see the Wade in Waiters in the least bit, whereas I see a lot of Ray Allen in Beal. Plus you have to think about how they play off of Kyrie since he's probably the top dog here for the forseeable future and Beal wins that one hands down.

The 2013 draft is a better assessment of Waiters and Melo. Melo goes top 15 or 10 if he comes back (don't' see how though) but will fall in the 1st round of 2012 due to his inability to take care of his classwork. Bone-head has cost himself millions.

Also, where is Scoop Jardine? He definitely gets drafted, at least in the second round. His play was great in the clutch.

No way Waiters goes that high. I'm a Cuse fan, but #8! No. Wade took a team to the final 4 basically by himself. Waiters played on a great team. I think he has Kobe potential in that he can hit the 3 and drive the lane, but he needs one more year in college to show he can play in tough situations and be smooth like Kobe. He's a lotto pick next year, prob top 5 with Noel, but not this year. This year he's 15-32.

Thumbs up if the Nuggets should draft Terrence Jones if they suck during this road trip.
