2012 NBA Mock Draft: Round 1 - Picks 1-15
2012 NBA Mock Draft: Round 2

2011 NBA Mock Draft
2010 NBA Mock Draft
2009 NBA Mock Re-Draft
Updated: June 28, 2012.

Team needs and outstanding trades HAVE been taken into account with this mock draft.

  1. Houston Rockets: Moe Harkless, SF, St. John's, 6-9, Fr.
Houston owns the Knicks' pick from the Tracy McGrady trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2012 NBA Draft Trades.

Again, the Rockets are trying to acquire assets to move up, so who knows if they actually end up even drafting here. I am a big Moe Harkless fan and he could be a sneaky draft-riser, but would be a solid value here as a replacement for Chase Budinger.

  2. Dallas Mavericks: Kendall Marshall, PG, North Carolina, 6-4, So.
Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Delonte West, and, possibly, Vince Carter will all be free agents meaning the Mavericks need some new blood in their backcourt. Kendall Marshall is a tremendous distributor and could serve as a replacement for Kidd. It also wouldn't surprise me if Dallas grabbed one of the Joneses as a value selection.

  3. Houston Rockets: Perry Jones, F, Baylor, 6-11, So.
Houston owns the Jazz's pick (via Minnesota from the Al Jefferson trade) from the Chase Budinger trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2012 NBA Draft Trades.

Another asset for the Rockets depending on what they decide to do with their picks, Jones is worth the risk here and could be a valuable trade piece for the future. Another option - and a bit of a reach - would be Marquis Teague if Houston ends up trading Kyle Lowry.

  4. Orlando Magic: Arnett Moultrie, PF, Mississippi State, 6-11, Jr.
I can't get a good feel as to what the Magic is going to do since it pretty much returns everybody from last season, and, of course, everything could change if the team trades Dwight Howard. Arnett Moultrie is a good get here due to his versatility in the frontcourt and ability to probably play the four or five in the NBA.

  5. Denver Nuggets: Marquis Teague, PG, Kentucky, 6-2, Fr.
If the Nuggets go with need, Marquis Teague would make sense since Andre Miller is a free agent. Somebody like Terrence Jones or Royce White would be more of a best-player-available pick.

  6. Boston Celtics: Royce White, PF, Iowa State, 6-8, So.
There is speculation that the Celtics have made a promise to pick White. Boston could use improved depth at just about every position since the team only has four players under contract for next season.

  7. Boston Celtics: Terrence Jones, F, Kentucky, 6-9, So.
The upgrade of the Celtics' frontcourt continues as Terrence Jones falls into their laps as one of the big sliders in this draft. Andrew Nicholson and Fab Melo could also be options.

  8. Atlanta Hawks: Andrew Nicholson, PF, St. Bonaventure, 6-9, Sr.
With only six players under contract for next season, the Hawks take the best player available. Andrew Nicholson has a gifted inside/outside game and would likely contribute off the bench right away.

  9. Cleveland Cavaliers: Fab Melo, C, Syracuse, 7-0, So.
Boston owns the Clippers' pick (via the Thunder/Eric Bledsoe trade) from the Kendrick Perkins trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2012 NBA Draft Trades.

The Cavaliers should consider themselves fortunate if Fab Melo slips to them. Cleveland needs a big body inside and that is Melo's strength. If he is off the board, another wing player like Will Barton could be a possibility.

  10. Memphis Grizzlies: Tony Wroten, PG, Washington, 6-6, Fr.
The Grizzlies could use improved depth at just about every position but specifically in the backcourt. Tony Wroten is a great talent who could probably play either guard position, but he falls this low due to some questions regarding his maturity.

  11. Indiana Pacers: Jeffery Taylor, SF, Vanderbilt, 6-7, Sr.
The Pacers need depth on the wing and would love to have somebody with Jeffery Taylor's versatility and ability to guard multiple positions. Draymond Green is reportedly also in play here.

  12. Miami Heat: John Jenkins, SG, Vanderbilt, 6-4, Jr.
The Heat would probably love to add a true big man with this pick, but instead settle for a sharpshooter in John Jenkins. He adds insurance in case Mike Miller is forced to retire and would greatly benefit from LeBron and Wade's drive-and-kick game.

  13. Oklahoma City Thunder: Draymond Green, F, Michigan State, 6-7, Sr.
With most of its core under roster for next season, the Thunder don't have any glaring needs. However, a player with Draymond Green's intangibles could be a valuable asset coming off the bench.

  14. Chicago Bulls: Tyshawn Taylor, PG, Kansas, 6-4, Sr.
With Derrick Rose possibly out for all of next season, the Bulls would be best served finding some depth at point guard. Taylor could probably play off the ball as well once Rose returns. A shooting guard like Will Barton has been a hot name here as well.

  15. Golden State Warriors: Quincy Miller, SF, Baylor, 6-10, Fr.
Golden State owns the Spurs' pick from the Stephen Jackson trade. Go here to see all of the outstanding 2012 NBA Draft Trades.

The Warriors go for value here and select Quincy Miller, who could have easily been a lottery pick next year had he returned to school. Miller likely won't contribute right away, but he could be a major steal down the line.

You don't take a pg in the first round when you have Kyrie Irving and you have greater needs. They will go C with 2nd first rounder if they take Porter. I could see them taking Larkin if he was still there with that first 2nd round pick though.

Suns will take shabbaz to play SG, then if their lucky alex len or cody zeller will fall to them. There second round pick could be used on practically anything but i would probably trade it for future picks or a SF

Gerald Henderson does not appear to be a long term solution for the Bobcats? Have you watched the NBA this year? Clearly you haven't.
