2024 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1 – Picks 17-32

The Jaguars have a big weakness at cornerback. They were terrible versus the pass last year, so an upgrade at the position would obviously go a long way in fixing the problem.

Kool-Aid McKinstry was a rare freshman starter for Nick Saban. He has the size and athleticism to be an elite cornerback.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Brian Thomas Jr., WR – Receiver is in play for the Jaguars, who lost Calvin Ridley this offseason.

2. Quinyon Mitchell or Terrion Arnold, CB – Other cornerback possibilities for Jacksonville.

Pick change; previously Quinyon Mitchell, CB

The Bengals continue to have offensive line issues. Jonah Williams has left for the Cardinals and will need to be replaced.

J.C. Latham has the power to start at guard and athleticism to be a tackle.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Amarius Mims, OT – The No. 2 tackle option for the Bengals.

2. Byron Murphy or Johnny Newton, DT – If all the tackle options are off the board, Cincinnati will be looking at a defensive tackle.

Aaron Donald has retired, which is a bummer because the Rams had a great chance to make a Super Bowl run. Donald will obviously need to be replaced.

Byron Murphy has been impressive as both a run defender and a pass rusher. The only negative is that he lacks length.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Dallas Turner or Jared Verse, DE – The Rams could use an edge rusher, and one of these two players could be available.

2. Brian Thomas Jr., WR – This may seem odd, given that the Rams have Cooper Kupp and Pucua Nacua. However, Kupp doesn’t seem like he has much time remaining.

The Steelers signed Mason Cole recently, but he turned out to be a bust. Cole was recently cut. Pittsburgh will be looking for a new center this offseason.

Graham Barton is a very nasty run blocker. He may move to guard in the NFL, but he can also play center.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Jackson Powers-Johnson or Talies Fuaga, OT/G – Other offensive line options for a team that can’t block very well.

2. Brian Thomas Jr., WR – There are rumors circulating that the Steelers love Thomas, though they didn’t host him for a top-30 visit. Check out the 2024 NFL Draft Prospect Visits Tracker here.

The Dolphins lost plenty of edge-rushing talent this offseason. Meanwhile, Christian Wilkins departed for Las Vegas. They’ll need to find someone else who can hound Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers. However, the Dolphins may opt for an offensive lineman if one of the studs falls to them.

Talies Fuaga may have to move to guard in the NFL.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Johnny Newton, DT – The Dolphins lost Christian Wilkins, so they need to find a new defensive tackle.

2. Jared Verse, DE – Miami also lost edge rushers to free agency. Anyone on the offensive or defensive line makes sense for the Dolphins.

Pick change; previously Johnny Newton, DT

The Eagles always draft with long-term plans in mind, rather than focusing more on just the season ahead. With that in mind, a tackle makes sense at this pick because Lane Johnson turns 34 soon. He could regress or declare for retirement any year, so the Eagles may want to be prepared.

Amarius Mims has gotten lots of positive feedback from the scouting community. He has a tremendous skill set and lots of upside.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Quinyon Mitchell, Kool-Aid McKinstry or Nate Wiggins, CB – The Eagles had a huge problem stopping the pass last year. They desperately need cornerback help.

2. Troy Fautanu or Tyler Guyton, OT – Other offensive linemen who make sense for the Eagles. Both of these players took top-30 visits in Philadelphia.

Arizona has some offensive line issues that must be addressed. Kyler Murray has never played an entire season.

Jordan Morgan has superb length, size, strength, and quickness.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Johnny Newton or Darius Robinson, DT – The Cardinals could opt for a defensive tackle with this pick. So could the Vikings if they still own this selection.

2. Quinyon Mitchell, Kool-Aid McKinstry or Nate Wiggins, CB – Arizona hasn’t been able to stop the pass in recent years because of poor cornerback play.

Pick change; previously Chop Robinson, DE/OLB

Dak Prescott needs more help. The Cowboys could stand to add a better No. 2 receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb. They also need a new left tackle in the wake of Tyron Smith’s departure.

Troy Fautanu may have to move to guard because of length limitations.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Tyler Guyton or Graham Barton, OL – Other offensive line options for a team that has multiple holes up front.

2. Brian Thomas Jr., WR – The Cowboys don’t have a No. 2 receiver at the moment.

The Packers must protect “No Cookie” Jordan Love. With David Bakhtiari gone, Green Bay will need to obtain a talented blocker.

Tyler Guyton is a massive tackle with great athelticism for someone his size.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Cooper DeJean, S/CB – DeJean was the pick here for a while, as the Packers could opt to find their replacement for Rasul Douglas.

2. Byron Murphy, DT – I could see the Packers trading up for a stud defensive lineman.

The Buccaneers will need to replace Shaq Barrett, who was released recently.

Chop Robinson is a productive player, but has some size limitations.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Kool-Aid McKinstry or Quinyon Mitchell, CB – Cornerback was a big problem for the Buccaneers last year, and now it’ll be even worse with Carlton Davis gone.

2. Jackson Powers-Johnson or Graham Barton, OL – The Buccaneers have a weak interior offensive line that must be upgraded.

Pick change; previously Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB

The Cardinals need multiple defensive linemen to replenish all the talent they’ve lost recently.

Darius Robinson is versatile enough to play in the 3-4 or 4-3. He was an effective pass rusher at Missouri.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Jordan Morgan or Graham Barton, OL – This could be where the Cardinals find their offensive line help for Kyler Murray.

2. Brian Thomas Jr., WR – If the Cardinals whiff on the top three receivers, they may consider the position with this pick.

Buffalo sorely needed a second receiver because Gabe Davis just wasn’t cutting it most weeks. Davis is now gone, and so is Stefon Diggs.

Brian Thomas Jr. is a huge receiver with great athleticism and upside.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Trade Up – Charlie Campbell reported that the Bills are attempting to trade up for a receiver.

2. Chop Robinson or Jared Verse, DE – The Bills may deem one of these defensive ends too good to pass up if they’re available at No. 28.

The Lions lost Jonah Jackson, so they need a guard right now. They may also need a center for the future if Frank Ragnow continues to get hurt.

Jackson Powers-Johnson moved from the defensive to the offensive line, and he was a superb center in his final season.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB – Cam Sutton’s arrest means that the Lions must address cornerback early in the draft.

2. Keon Coleman, WR – Detroit’s receiving corps is rather pedestrian beyond Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The Ravens are expected to address the offensive line, which makes sense. However, what always happens is that a talented player inexplicably falls to Baltimore. That’s what’s happening with this pick.

Quinyon Mitchell is raw, but he has incredible upside that could put him in the first round.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Tyler Guyton or Jordan Morgan, OT – A talented tackle could fall to the Ravens.

2. Brian Thomas or Xavier Legette, WR – The Ravens could use another first-round pick on a receiver because there isn’t much beyond Zay Flowers.

The 49ers love adding talent to the defensive line. They lost Arik Armstead and Chase Young, so they may feel the need to continue to address this part of their roster.

Johnny Newton lacks size and length, but he’s a great disruptor in the interior.

*** OTHER 2024 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Chop Robinson or Jared Verse, DE – John Lynch loves addressing the defensive line with first-round picks.

2. Jordan Morgan or Kingsley Suamataia, OT – Lynch could also bolster the trenches on the other side of the ball with there being a weakness up front.

Pick change; previously Jared Verse, DE

The Chiefs need receiving help, but they also have a huge hole at left tackle. Patrick Mahomes’ blind-side protection must improve.

Kingsley Suamataia has amazing athleticism for a tackle of his size.

1. Jordan Morgan or Patrick Paul, OT – Other offensive line options for a team that can’t block very well on the edge.

2. Brian Thomas Jr., Keon Coleman or Xavier Legette, WR – The Chiefs could trade up for Thomas or use this pick on one of the other receivers.
