NBA Team Draft Report
New York Knicks

This new tool condenses 2018 NBA Mock Draft content from around WalterFootball.com. Below are all the 2018 NBA Mock Draft selections for the Knicks from Paul Banks' and David Kay's 2018 NBA Mock Draft and a summary from the WalterFootball.com 2018 Mock NBA Draft Builder.

New York Knicks
Mock Selections from Paul Banks and David Kay
  • Rd. 1, Pk. 9 Wendell Carter Jr., PF, Duke
With Enes Kanter holding a player option, a hurt Kristaps Porzingis possibly missing all of next season with a torn ACL, and Joakim Noah being a massive waste of cap space; the Knicks need to address their frontcourt depth. Carter Jr. was in the shadows a bit during his freshman season at Duke, but he has the tools and physical attributes to be an effective big man at the next level.

  • Rd. 2, Pk. 6 Jacob Evans, G/F, Cincinnati
A physical wing, Evans brings versatility to both ends of the floor.

Paul Banks and David Kay's 2018 NBA Mock Draft
New York Knicks
Mock Selections from Mike Elworth
  • Rd. 1, Pk. 9 T.J. Leaf, PF, UCLA
If Kristaps Porzingis becomes the Knicks' center as rumored, they will need a power forward and could use a young stud four regardless. Leaf is an excellent shooter, scorer and rebounder who would be a nice partner for Porzingis.

5 Most Commonly Picked Players

Miles Bridges, SF, Michigan State, .
Going to the Knicks on 7 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
The Knicks are in need of desperate wing help, very desperate. Porzingis is a center, there's no other way to put it. He gets cooked on the perimeter when he faces a good offensive wing, just look at what Markkanen did to him. New York has fringe rotation guys like Lance Thomas and Beasley who should be career bench guys and not starting on any NBA team. Bridges is really raw on offense, outside of being explosive near the rim and being a good 3 point shooter, he really doesn't have an offensive game. His offensive IQ isn't very high. On defense, he's an athletic 3/4 that can defend multiple positions. He closes out effectively and knows when to help on defense which is a huge bonus at a young age. He's a very good defensive rebounder. Bridges seems to have conditioning issues, but it should improve in the NBA.

Wendell Carter, PF, Duke, .
Going to the Knicks on 3 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
Kristaps Porzingis and Wendell Carter seem like an odd fit at first. Then, you look and wonder if Porzingis can play the 5 with Carter next to him at the 4. They would cause match-up problems against virtually anyone due to their offensive skill set and ability to shoot from deep. Not to mention, they would be great around the rim defensively and nice post pieces Ntilikina to grow with.

Mikal Bridges, SF, Villanova, .
Going to the Knicks on 3 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
A very efficient player at Villanova, Bridges can shoot and play D quite well, and I believe that Jay Wright's players have a great understanding of how to play the right way. Perhaps he doesn't have the upside of the guys in the top 8, but Bridges should have a long and solid career.

Luka Doncic, SF, Slovenia, .
Going to the Knicks on 2 mock drafts

Hamidou Diallo, SG, Kentucky, .
Going to the Knicks on 2 mock drafts

Featured Writeup:
The playmaker skills and his elite sharpshooter way of the game makes him the perfect pick for a Knicks roster who hasn't reached the playoffs since the 2012-13 season.
