2018 NFL Mock Draft 3.0 | XurxoMVP (4.13.18)
Published at 4/13/2018 12:14:22 AM

I know that having four straight quarterbacks going in the first four picks may be controversial, but QBs always end up being elected very early (look at these past drafts), so I assume it will be like that. ***I'm still working in this mock, Round 2 writeups coming soon***

Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Browns: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

The Browns can't make another mistake this time. Despite the interest of the Browns for Josh Allen, the USC's QB seems to be the best prospect.

2. Giants: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Probably the best long-term option for the Giants. Very accurate quarterback who's going to be Eli Manning's replacement early.

3. Jets: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

The Jets need a player with leadership and attitude to play in the Big Apple, and that's Baker, besides, he's the QB with the better tape among the top prospects.

4. Bills: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

*** Projected trade with CLE ***

The Bills reportedly love Josh Allen, so they can exchange their two first round picks plus a mid-round draft pick to ensure Allen, while Cleveland can upgrade some other positions, as Barkley isn't really a need after just sign Carlos Hyde to a multi-year contract.

5. Broncos: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

Best prospect available and it's kind of a need, as CJ Anderson had injuries in the past and Barkley would be a big upgrade. Besides, the Broncos will need help at RB to remove pressure from Keenum, who is a pretty average QB.

6. Colts: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

The Colts still need pass-rush help, so Chubb would be a nice upgrade to that defense, and they will pick their player while gaining some picks in the way from the trade with the Jets.

7. Buccaneers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

Bucs' pass defense was awful last year, so they can look to add Fitzpatrick, who was amazing last year at Alabama, and who can play both cornerback and safety. Derwin James, whose stock is trending up recently, could be another option, but for me he didn't look better tan Fitzpatrick last year.

8. Bears: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

Nelson has an all-pro potential. The Bears would love to have him protecting his young quarterback.

9. 49ers: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

After the Reuben Foster's reports, the LB position seems to be the main need again for the 49ers. Roquan Smith would be a great fit.

10. Raiders: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

Raiders' defense was the main reason to their bad season. There are many positions to adress, but they could look to add Ward. The buckeye is probably one of the best prospects at this point.

11. Dolphins: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

Great, versatile player that would fill a need for the Dolphins.

12. Browns: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

*** Projected trade with BUF ***

After the Joe Thomas' departure, offensive tackle will be a position to adress for the Browns. McGlinchey would be a great player for them.

13. Redskins: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

The Redskins would be very lucky if they got James falling to their pick. They have other needs but it's hard to pass on a quality player like him.

14. Packers: Mike Hughes, Cornerback, Central Florida

Packers DB group is below average, so the man-to-man cornerback would be an instant upgrade over Williams and House.

15. Cardinals: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

Cardinals need a QB for the future, so they could use Jackson to develop one year behind Bradford before making the athletic QB a starter.

16. Ravens: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Ravens' WR group is below average. Ridley seems to be the best receiver of this class and he should have an impact on the team since the beginning.
