Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Browns: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

I'm not sure I am sold on Darnold but it seems like the Browns are. I think its a smart move taking a QB here. With Taylor as a bridge to prepare the young QB for the future it could work out nicely for the Browns

2. Giants: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

I'm not sure what I would do with this pick of I was the Giants. A QB or Barkley would be nice but honestly trading down would probably be the best. The value you get for the #2 overall pick is insane. However the Giants benched Eli for.... Geno Smith... so they obviously want a QB for the future. And I am not mocking trades

3. Jets: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

Just a gut call here for Mayfield over Rosen. Mayfield would bring some excitement to New York and im not sure there is much difference between mayfield and the other 3 QBs. Definitely possible he could be the best one of the group

4. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

Even with the addition of Hyde, hyde and barkley could be a nice 1,2 punch with Duke Johnson also as a nice receiving back. Hyde also has an injury history

5. Broncos: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

Denvers defense was at its best when it was getting after the QB. Pairing Chubb with Von Miller would look real nice. They could also go Ward to replace Talib or Nelson to sure up the O-line but I think Chubb is highest on the board

6. Colts: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

For the Colts to be competitive they need to keep Luck upright. He has taken more hits than a RB over the years and while I think its hilarious when he tells these D-lineman nice hit, I dont think the Colts are laughing.

7. Buccaneers: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

Bucs need help in the secondary and I think Ward could be a lock down corner. They could also take one of the safeties here

8. Bears: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

He has been compared to Barr from the Vikings so I think that is praise enough for the bears to take him here. He will be all over the field and a nice addition to bears defense

9. 49ers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

After adding Sherman to the secondary Fitzpatrick will be another nice addition to the secondary.Very versatile player

10. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

Raiders need a lot of help on defense especially up the middle. They need to help Mack out on that defense

11. Dolphins: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

More than likely Rosen doesnt fall this far. There is a good chance someone trades up and takes him but with no trades in this mock he falls to the Dolphins.

12. Bills: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

Unless the Bills trade up they should be prepared to take Lamar as their QB of the future. He is an exciting player but personally I dont think his passing skills are good enough to be effective in the league. However I have been wrong before and the Bills are desperate for a QB

13. Redskins: Vita Vea, Defensive Tackle, Washington

Redskins need to clog some holes up front and who better to do that than this 340lb giant

14. Packers: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

James will be the replacement of Morgan Burnett. Packers like the safety that can come up and play in the box and I think James can do that. They could also go after Davenport here or maybe a CB if they like one better but I think James fits nicely. However there is a new D-coordinator in town so we will see

15. Cardinals: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

Everyone knows how fragile sam bradford is, they are going to need to keep him upright if this offense is going to do anything this year

16. Ravens: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

The ravens need to give flacco some weapons and ridley compliments flacco big arm well
