Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Browns: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

Previously I had RB Saquon Barkley going here and while he is the best player in the draft the Browns desperately want their franchise QB here and there have been many many rumors that the Browns don't want to miss out on another player like Carson Wentz. Allen looks like he could be a great player in the future and THE future of the Browns.

2. Giants: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

The Giants want Sam Darnold but they CANNOT pass up on Saquon Barkley maybe the best player coming out of college I've ever seen to add to an already fueled up offense.

3. Jets: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

While Sam Darnold is still available, the Jets have clearly been trying to pursue Baker Mayfield. There has been lots of hype building around him and the Jets traded up specifically to get him, I can't see them going for a different QB here.

4. Browns: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

The Browns could go with Sam Darnold here so then they could really see which of their 2 young guys was the best but that is too much of a strange approach so instead they take the best defender in the draft in Fitzpatrick who is the next Honey Badger defensive back.

5. Broncos: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

While the idea of picking Quenton Nelson here sounds so nice for a needy Broncos O-line, a top tier QB still being available is just too hard for QB-loving GM John Elway as the Broncos prepare for the future by taking Darnold who will sit and learn behind Case Keenum. You just can't bank on Keenum as your reliable starter.

6. Colts: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

The Colts would have drafted game changing rusher Chubb at 3 but they did the smart thing and traded down just enough spots to be able to still grab the man at 6. Chubb will help a huge need in Indianapolis.

7. Buccaneers: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

The Bucs are beyond overjoyed when by far the best O-lineman in the draft Quenton Nelson is still there for them at 7. The Bucs really need help on a somewhat shaky O-line and getting an elite prospect here helps a ton!

8. Bears: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

The Bears do have a solid no. 1 CB in Kyle Fuller but they could use a young CB2 to really solidify the position and Ward had a great combine and is the next big corner out of Ohio State. The kid is so fast and will bring a huge talent to this defense.

9. 49ers: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

The Niners have a few big needs but LB is one of their biggest. They have a ton of uncertainty around young LB Rueben Foster as if he may never set foot on the field again in a Niners uniform. Edmunds is super talented and has been rising since the season ended. Home run pick here for the Niners.

10. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

The Raiders have been slated to get Smith all off-season and it continues to look that way. The Raiders are still really in need of a good LB and Smith brings an amazing intensity to this Jon Gruden lead team. Smith is a top 5-8 talent in the entire draft to me.

11. Dolphins: Vita Vea, Defensive Tackle, Washington

The Fins' are super lucky and super happy that a top 5-10 talent in this draft falls to them at 11. Vea had a great season and at his size proved to be a freak athlete. Any team would love a young freak at d-line especially the Dolphins who lost DT Ndamukong Suh this off-season.

12. Bills: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

The Bills are beyond excited and cannot believe that the last of the starting quality QB's in the draft fell to them at 12. The Bills may need a QB the most of any team in football right now. Rosen will come in and compete and will be the Bills proud week 1 starter next season.

13. Redskins: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

The Redskins have been linked to James for awhile as they have a need at safety and they are very happy when James falls to them at 13 where they gladly snatch him up.

14. Packers: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

A surprise but great pick here, the Packers have already found their new no. 1 WR for years to come. Ridley had a great career at Alabama and showed he is an elite receiver. Ridley catching balls from Aaron Rodgers is a dream come true for both players and it gives the Packers a new amazing playmaker to replace Jordy Nelson.

15. Cardinals: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

While some may disagree with this pick, hear me out. Sam Bradford is a viable option for a year maybe 2 but is NOT the franchise QB option here. Jackson is an exciting young QB who needs some help making the transition from college. Have Jackson sit a year or 2 and learn and get ready for the jump and then play him and have an amazing young talented QB for years to come in Arizona.

16. Ravens: Da'Ron Payne, Defensive Tackle, Alabama

Payne has been losing hype for whatever reason but I believe he is going to be a great star DT for the future. The Ravens have a decent DT room but 30 yr old star Brandon Williams in 30 and making almost 10 million dollars a year. That huge amount of money could hurt the Ravens so they could go for a younger but similar option to Williams and get rid of Williams once they have Payne.
