2018 NFL Mock Draft by ZVPlatinum - 3.8
Published at 3/8/2018 10:35:54 PM

This is my third mock draft. This draft assumes that Kirk Cousins goes to the Vikings and Keenum goes to the Broncos. I will probably do one last mock after free agency. Feel free to give me constructive criticism on your team's pick and I will update this draft up to free agency. Also this janky-ass website deleted my first 23 picks descriptions, so I did it over for you guys. I tried to specify where trades went. I may have forgotten some, but I do not think so. If you feel a team got jipped in a trade, they probably gave up later or future picks in my mind that I did not write. Let me know if I forgot any players who you feel should go within 3 rounds so I can consider them and make the edits. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Round 1

1. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

It makes the most sense for Browns to take Barkley with the first overall pick, as they are guaranteed to have 3/5 best QB's remaining to pick with the 4th pick. This makes the most sense for Browns and will take the pressure off to get the right QB with the 1st pick.

2. Bills: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

I think Bills trade up to get their franchise guy that the fans have been dying for. I think they go pocket passer, as Tyrod has left a somewhat sour taste in the mouth of the Bills franchise.

*TRADE*

3. Jets: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

Jets trade up here to get Darnold before the Cardinals or Dolphins do. This can be the franchise guy to get, as jets will probably hit their prime in the next 5 years or so.

*TRADE*

4. Browns: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

I think this is the QB the Browns really want, as he has been vocal about turning the franchise around. Browns better pick this guy before anyone else, as it seems the top QBs in this draft are scared to go to Cleveland. Mayfield's attitude, confidence, and cockiness deserve him this pick.

5. Broncos: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

I think Keenum would step into the Broncos situation much like he did with the Vikings and had an MVP-like year. To help protect him, Broncos can get Nelson, who is the best OLineman in this draft.

6. Colts: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

Colts trade down for extra picks and still get the best defensive player in the draft. Good move for Indy.

*TRADE*

7. Buccaneers: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

Ward seems like he will be the Lattimore of this year's draft. Maybe Ward too can spark the dormant defense of the Buccs, just like Lattimore did with the Saints.

8. Dolphins: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

Dolphins trade up to take their guy. Many people think this pick should be Allen, but I feel Allen is Jake Locker 2.0 and feel like Lamar Jackson can become the Deshaun Watson of this year, and I think the Dolphins see it this way as well.

*TRADE*

9. 49ers: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

Reuben Foster cannot stay out of trouble. Also, Edmunds is barely 20 and has freakish athletic traits. Highest ceiling in this draft belongs to this guy.

10. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

Smith has red flags for injuries, however, I do not feel this affects where the Raiders value him. He may not be the prettiest pick, but his on-field production is impeccable. Oakland really needs a guy who can be a mike on this defense.

11. Bears: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Bears probably do not want the 8th overall pick considering who is available, so they trade down for a few extra picks. Ridley is best reciever in this draft and Bears need that number 1 guy to help Trubisky.

*TRADE*

12. Bengals: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

I do believe Minkah will slip this far, as he did not shine that bright at the combine. Bengals need help at both safety and corner, so this pick makes a lot of sense for them.

13. Redskins: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

There is a possibility that the Redksins that Da'ron Payne with this pick, but if Derwin James is on the board, you take him. He went off at the Combine and has the intangibles to be the next Kam Chancellor.

14. Packers: Marcus Davenport, Defensive End, Texas-San Antonio

Clay Matthews is getting old and slowing down. Davenport can step in and seal the edge with Nick Perry. Packers will not hesitate to take this guy, drawing comparisons to Jadeveon Clowney.

15. Cardinals: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

I think this is a good positon to take Josh Allen. Cards will probably pick up McCown or Bradford in free agency to temporarily fill the spot of QB, while acting as mentors to the raw Josh Allen.

16. Ravens: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

I personally think he is the best tackle in the class, especially with Orlando Brown flopping at the Combine. Ravens know this is a deep WR class, so they take the safe tackle to protect Flacco.
