2018 NFL Mock Draft by FadeToZach - Draft Day

I'm calling this final unless some news breaks before the draft starts. Lots of trades included. I'm forgetting about the second round and I'll mock it after we see what actually happens on day 1

Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Browns: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

This is a much bigger guess than you would think on Draft Day but I do still think they go with Darnold

2. Giants: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

I personally hate this pick, but I think Gettleman does it. He doesn't trade down, and he doesn't mind taking RBs high. Picking Chubb or a QB here is by far the preferred option in my opinion.

3. Jets: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Mayfield became a popular pick here but I'm going to go back to Rosen in my final mock.

4. Browns: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

This is still my favorite choice of theirs at #4 as long as he's on the board. Otherwise, trade down

5. Cardinals: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

*TRADE* The Cardinals need to convince the Broncos not to take Mayfield themselves and they do that by offering up their first 2 picks this year and their first rounder next year, for starters.

6. Bills: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

*TRADE* The Bills make their move to get their guy giving up their two firsts this year for starters.

7. Packers: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

*TRADE* The Packers were a late entry into rumors about trading up. They are said to want to get one of the "elite" prospects on their board. I think Ward could be the target

8. Bears: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

.The Bears are happy to have Nelson fall to them

9. Colts: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

*TRADE* The Colts traded down and then back up a couple spots when they see the player the love still on the board.

10. Raiders: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

The thought process as been they'd go defense here, but an OT who can play the right side for a year and then take over at LT isn't a bad choice

11. Dolphins: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

Their LB corps is pretty bad. Lamar is an option but I think they stick it out with Tannehill

12. 49ers: Harold Landry, Defensive End, Boston College

*TRADE* Outside pass rush is needed and after the trade back they get a better value for that need

13. Redskins: Vita Vea, Defensive Tackle, Washington

They need help stopping the run

14. Buccaneers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

*TRADE* Minkah slips and the Bucs are happy to get a guy at #14 they could have considered at #7

15. Broncos: Jaire Alexander, Cornerback, Louisville

*TRADE* After trading away Talib, they get a replacement

16. Ravens: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

In Ozzie's last draft, he takes a crack at setting up the team for the future. Let's face it, Flacco is not elite.
