POST Mayock Kodiak Draft by Grizzly
Published at 2/18/2018 7:01:13 AM

3 rounds, (1st round trades only) Bears total draft found at their newly acquired 3rd round pick.Understanding Mayock: Is he important..Hell yes; more important than Walt or Charlie...Hell no. Look at him as a confirmation to 95%+ of what Charlie and Walt have been telling us all year. Miller,, Kiper, the others are they important? They all have their strengths and weaknesses from local to positionally or composite. Blesto, National, PFF, Ourlads, Hub Arkush, White, Easterling all contribute to the massive business of scouting and predicting (as do others). If you're a composite mocker (like me) how do you weight all of these? LOL that is for YOU to figure out! Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Round 1

1. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State Yep, I have been saying all year Cousins is going to the Browns and I sure am not changing my mind now. There are many, many reasons for this and of course this draft and FA are BIG ones. Browns may very well exceed what the Jags did last year and nope I am not from Cleveland, nor are they in my top 5 teams as favorites.

2. Giants: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Obviously it is a QB here, I've had Rosen and though I could be wrong I'm sticking with him

3. Colts: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

Indy has an interesting decision to take Buffalo's offer or pick, I think they pick as at this point Jets and Denver are still hopeful they get their man. It should be an OLB here or Nelson (who they know well) unless Luck's medical is bad and then it is a QB. I think it IS a QB in a shocker

4. Bills: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

From Browns The rich get richer as Browns do take out Buffalo's offer. Allen got a boost from Mayock, but more importantly is he is really the only true cold weather QB in the top tier and believe me, that is important in Buffalo. Price 2018 pick 21, pick 22

5. Broncos: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

Denver was boxed out of the two QB's they wanted and sure they might take Mayfield, but my guess is Nelson. They simply have too many QB's already and need to fix this first (in my opinion)

6. Jets: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

Yeah it might be Jackson (as NYJ are one of the most progressively racially balanced teams (kudos), either way jets fans will scream, but fortunately they still have plenty of ammo in this draft to fix other needs.

7. Buccaneers: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

This should be a DE and for me Chubb is still the top dog for a 4-3 scheme

8. Dolphins: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

My Bears would love to use this pick but their biggest need is more picks and Jackson is in great demand. Toss out the Trade Value chart on this one as QB's as Bears get offers from Miami, Bengals,Zona,Bolts (and more) QB's flying off the board and the last of the top tier gores to.....Price 2018 2nd

9. 49ers: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

Foster's best position is ILB moving him inside has huge benefits for the Niners

10. Raiders: Orlando Brown, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma

Tough call here REALLY tough call! But I think it is Brown over Fitzpatrick, Smith and Ridley and here is why: Sure they have been looking for a ILB force for three long years, but ILB i talented and deep this year. Fitzpatrick can play the CB, but most agree his best position is at Safety. Brown gets the nod besides the fact he LOOKS like he has two left feet because of his versatility (many like him at guard better than Tackle) but that versatility really pays dividends.

11. Browns: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

From Bears, via Browns via Houston My Bears definitely want Ridley or an OLB but Browns have the ammo to change that and do, trading back up for Fitzpatrick. Price 2018 2nd (via Philly) 2018 3rd . Browns need a Safety and two Corners (among other things) but imagine Peppers and Fitzpatrick deep... that is scary.

12. Bengals: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

Well the cross state rivels just jumped Bengals pick. However the reality is Bengals really have OLine needs that must be addressed

13. Ravens: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

From Redskins The Skins also need more picks and when the Wise Birds call they can't refuse Price 2018 3rd

14. Packers: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

The question for the McCarthy - Thompson brain trust is WR, CB, or an Edge not an easy choice here. It could be Davenport but something tells me they go for the CB instead because Ward is a sure bet and Davenport is not.

15. Cardinals: Connor Williams, Offensive Tackle, Texas

Doubt the Birds reach for a QB here

16. Redskins: Vita Vea, Defensive Tackle, Washington

From Balty DT is a huge need for the Skins and Vea is a monster
