Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

Browns take the closest QB to Wentz that they see. Don't make the same mistake twice. Allen has the potential to be the best QB in the class. All the QB have flaws just which one has the less damaging flaws.

2. Giants: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Moving to a 3-4 defense Chubb is the player the Giants need. Think Justin Houston type versatility. Best player in the draft. Giants will be in great position to take a RB or interior lineman with their second pick.

3. Jets: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

The Jets din't trade up for anybody but a QB. Hopefully they get it right. Personally I like Rosen over Darnold. But the Jets will probably take L. Jackson.

4. Browns: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

The Browns will now give Allen some added protection with a solid running game. The combination of Hyde and Barkley with be devastating. With two early second round pics to attack the defense the Browns could be a solid team in a year or two.

5. Broncos: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

I could really see the Broncos trading out of this spot. If they stay Nelson is the type of player to transform an offense line. The guy could probably play tackle if needed. Long arms, athletic, strong, smart. Pro-Bowl G as a rookie.

6. Bills: Joshua Jackson, Cornerback, Iowa

The Colts trade back again with the Bills to get the number 12 and 22 pick.

With the pick the Bills take Mayfield. The guys is a gamer. He may be a little brash on and off the field but he wins. and the Bills need a leader who isn't afraid to put it out there.

7. Buccaneers: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

The Bucs need help all over the place but landing maybe the smartest defensive player in the draft who is a Saban pupil isn't all bad. Fitzpatrick has had some of Saban's highest praise during his time at Bama.

8. Bears: Denzel Ward, Cornerback, Ohio State

Tremaine Edmunds has been the ultimate a riser on draft boards since the combine. Speed and power, with instincts to match. Edmunds will take control of the defense for Vic just the way Patrick Willis did in SF.

9. 49ers: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

The 49ers should go in a different direction. The need to protect Garoppolo is too great. McGlinchey can start on the right side before moving to the left in a year or two. Big, athletic mobile tackle.

10. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

Roquan is a devastating presence on the defense. Gruden needs to develop a dominant front seven and with Smith that is a great start, comparisons to Derrick Brooks have been floated. Paired with Mack, Smith with be a force in the middle.

11. Dolphins: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

This could be a dream scenario for the Dolphins. Darnolds' slide could be a steal for Gase. Let Tannehill start and if he can't get it done, plan B is waiting.

12. Colts: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

The Colts are moving to a more traditional 4-3 alignment on defense and Davenport may have the highest potential at the RE spot. He could be huge bust, but if Davenport can move the pocket and get double digit sacks then all the moving around for the Colts will have paid off.

13. Redskins: Vita Vea, Defensive Tackle, Washington

Vita Vea will be an immediate impact player in Washington's 3-4 defense. The skins traded for Alex Smith eliminating the immediate need for a QB. Vea has the speed and agility of a smaller DT with the strength one would expect for a guy his size.

14. Packers: Tremaine Edmunds, Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech

Green Bay was looking to move up but could not part with the assets. In the mock their guys lands with them anyway. Losing Hyde last year and Burnett this year, the Packers have hole in the secondary that needs to get filled. James and Ha-Ha will make a nice duo.

15. Cardinals: Orlando Brown, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma

I think the Cardinals will be in a tough spot they failed to move up for a franchise QB. The Safeties they may have wanted are gone and no Offensive Lineman is worth the 15th pick. Denzel Ward could be an option but in the end I think the Bama product will be too good to pass on.

16. Ravens: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

My pick was always Calvin Ridley but with Suggs being retired the Ravens need that playmaker to get after the QB. Landry is more 2016 than he was 2017. The guy can bend and really get after the QB.
