1st 2018 mock. Obviously will change after free agency, combine etc. No trades (too unpredictable). Feedback would be awesome, not claiming to be an expert for every teams needs. Not all analysis typed out yet.

Round 1

1. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

Much like last year, the Browns take the best player in the whole draft.

2. Giants: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Giants have no plans of picking this high again, at least for the foreseeable future. Take advantage of the situation and take your franchise QB.

3. Colts: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

Colts need help rushing the passer, so they take arguably the best defender in the draft.

4. Browns: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

John Dorsey could choose to fill his QB need by trading with his old team for Alex Smith. But since that hasn't happened (yet). Browns have to go QB early. The pick is Josh Allen due to superior arm talent and upside. Dorsey had the same mindset when drafting Mahomes over Watson.

5. Broncos: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

I see Kirk Cousins ultimately ending up in Denver, but that hasn't happened yet either. So, in that case, Broncos are thrilled Darnold drops to #5. Between him and Mayfield, i believe Elway will choose to go with the more desirable measurables over intangibles.

6. Jets: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

With needs virtually everywhere, this pick is hard to predict. But i don't think the Jets can go another year with McCown or Petty. Time to find the face of the franchise and a proven winner/leader. Mayfield will continue to impress during the draft process. Will prove he's not Manziel, but more of a Russell Wilson type.

7. Buccaneers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

Best player available. Can play Safety or corner at a pro bowl level. The T.J Ward experiment didn't pan out, and the combo of Tandy/Conte isn't going to cut it against Brees, Ryan, and Newton every year. No edge rusher worth taking over Fitzpatrick.

8. Bears: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

This is a popular pick and for good reason, it makes too much sense. Trubisky needs a true #1 receiver to flourish, while Cam Meredith can be a nice #2.

9. 49ers: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

It's pretty clear Garoppolo will be locked up long-term, at very least will be tagged until that deal can be worked out. Give him an all-pro caliber o-lineman to keep him upright and maul in the run game. Also the best player available.

10. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Inside Linebacker, Georgia

Another popular pick that just makes a ton of sense. Oakland is razor thin at linebacker, and help is not on the way in FA. If the Raiders are going to compete for a super bowl, they'll need to get faster, younger, and obviously more talented on the defensive side.

12. Bengals: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

Analysis coming...

13. Redskins: Vita Vea, Defensive Tackle, Washington

Cousins wants out of Washington badly, but could end up being tagged for a third straight year. So until FA sorts things out, he's still on the roster in my eyes. Arguably the best player available, Vea could easily go top 10. (Heard he runs a sub 5.00 40). McGee, Vea, Allen d-line could be scary.

14. Packers: Marcus Davenport, Defensive End, Texas-San Antonio

Finally, my team. I have to think this pick is Defense all the way. Josh Jackson is definitely in play, as House shouldn't be back. But i think we should move CMIII to the inside with Martinez, and have an edge rushing tandem of Perry and Davenport. Davenport is a small school standout who is rising fast. So far in the Senior Bowl has shown to be more comfortable standing up, which works out perfectly for Mike Pettine.

16. Ravens: Courtland Sutton, Wide Receiver, SMU

Analysis coming...
