Round 1

1. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

Until now I have had Washington getting a considerable amount out of the Cousins move to Cleveland. However, I think that ship has sailed.and the Redskins have slit their own throat. The Manning situation also adds a twist, but I don't see him going anywhere except Jacksonville (unless its NO or the Jets and the Jets might be hard to get done and NO makes no sense. Sorry Broncos and Vikings fans. All this leads to is Kizer an adequate backup for Cousins? Or one of the others and the answer is most likely yes. Is Barkley the answer? How do they make Cousins happier? I bet they would love to trade down but who is willing to pay up? In the end its Barkley because TB can't afford to move up and get him. Here is my article on Cousins

2. 49ers: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

The disappointment has worn off of SF not finding a buyer who is willing to pay their price and reality sets in. They can either hear "not again" with an Edge, reach for an OLineman or take Fitzaptrick (and try to make him into a corner). or take James at Safety. Not great choices If I am the GM I'm taking Fitzpatrick yet I think it is "Not again" as Chubb is the top 4-3 Edge
The only options I see for a trade (and SF needs a trade worse than the Browns) is to try and work a deal with NYG like last year with Trubisky and that is doubtful. Neither do I see Denver trading up. The Jets I think would be a candidate BUT no way they are offering more than their own second round pick (retaining Seattle's) Nope it is not a lot, so SF keeps the pick. I will say there is ONE chance that would be a bargain for the Bills (yet it is a possibility) that the Bills trade their two first rounders for this pick.

3. Giants: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Giants play their cards right and still get the top QB who is a perfect fit for Wall Street and 5th Avenue

4. Broncos: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

NOTE> Hybrid order for the next three 3 -9 teams based on my expected finish of 4 Colts, 5 Bears, 6 Broncos
From Colts Price 2018 2rd NOTE: hybrid order (see Indy) Colts should get a premium for the number 2 QB slot.
Darnold is simply a better fit for Elway than Jackson, the other option is to take a OT or Nelson and I don't think Elway will do that as it is a deep draft for OLineman. Why trade up? If he doesn't someone else will.Say goodbye to at least one of the three QB amigos. For Indy this is a lay up trade.

5. Jets: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville

From Bears Hybrid order (see pick 4). I think Pace will trade down and get more picks. It should be either Jets, Redskins or Bills. Skins are thin on assets. I like the Jets here as they have 2 second round picks: Price 2018 2nd (Jets) 2018, 2018 5th (via Cowboys)

6. Colts: Arden Key, Defensive End, LSU

From Denver Note:Hybrid order (see pick 4)
One of the few enigmas of this draft is Key, with no issues he goes ahead of Chubb. Key is far separated from anyone except for Chubb as I see it so while there is risk the reward should be sufficient to make this pick. Since they would have taken Key at 4 it works out very well for the Colts. There is an outside chance this pick could be an ILB (Smith) and Colts would take an Edge in the second.

7. Buccaneers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

With Key and Chubb gone I think Bucks look to trade down. Washington is a possibility as is Buffalo and Zona if one of them is in love with a QB.Otherwise I think they take Fitzpatrick

8. Browns: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

Browns get their safety

9. Bengals: Trey Adams, Offensive Tackle, Washington

If he declares I like him better than McGlinchey

10. Cardinals: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

You can'r develop heart...... I like him better than Allen for Bruce as he seems further along.

11. Bills: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

From Bears via Jets If I'm Pace I let Buffalo move up and grab the QB they really want in Allen (the only true cold weather QB) Price 2018 2nd This trade is risky for the Bears who covet Ridley and Bears would not try it if Redskins have eliminated their need for a QB by this pick.

12. Dolphins: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

Nelson is a one in a decade guard

13. Redskins: Clayton Thorson, Quarterback, Northwestern

Redskins dug themselves a hole and NOW with nothing in return for Cousins they really can't afford to trade up for one of the higher rated QB's However I really like Thorson and predict he will succeed.

14. Chargers: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

OT who many have ranked at the top Doubtful the Bolts reach for a QB here (if they fall the way I predict) otherwise I hear they like Thorson

15. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

For two years now Raiders have suffered at ILB though a LT might be the pick it is a deep class for them.

16. Cowboys: Clelin Ferrell, Defensive End, Clemson

Witten is ancient for a DT and the DT class is deep in quality, I think looking at the board Jerry again tries for an edge
