GXD333 Baby Draft
Published at 5/10/2017 4:19:34 PM

It's a baby draft because it's way to early to tell what will actually fun but how care's because it's fun to talk about it. The draft order is in the order of my lowest to highest ranked teams in my most recent NFL Power Rankings. As always, it's about the BPA.

Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Jets: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

They Jets are a horrible team in need of a franchise QB which Darnold looks to be right now.

2. 49ers: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

The 49ers are kinda headed in the right direction. Lynch did a great job in round 1 but some of the other moves were questionable. Regardless they don't have enough to be very good this year. They need a QB.

3. Browns: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

The Browns have had 2 solid drafts in a row and they should improve. However, they are still unproven at the most important position, QB. I am glad they passed on the QB's this year but if Klesser doesn't show something they will be in a good place to take a QB in 2018.

4. Rams: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

They still have a horrible offense but a solid defense and running game. I am guessing that they will still want to give Goff another year unless he looks utterly helpless and everyone gets fired. It's either McGlinchey or Christian Kirk in this scenario to give Goff more support. Franchise LT are harder to find then WR's so Mike is the pick.

5. Jaguars: Christian Kirk, Wide Receiver, Texas A&M

The Jags aren't that good. Everyone seems to think Blake Bortles isn't a franchise QB and I agree but I am not sure if Jacksonville is convinced. I am guessing that they still try to add more support for him. They have two talented receivers but Kirk is the best weapon to provide Bortles so help him succeed.

6. Bears: Arden Key, Defensive End, LSU

The Bears have made zero sense to me so I am just giving them the BPA. Key is a stud and would be a great 3-4OLB.

7. Chargers: Connor Williams, Offensive Tackle, Texas

The Charges had a good draft but will anything really change this year? They have been picked by various people to breakout every year for like the last 3 years but it never happens. This still need an OT to improve the OL.

8. Bengals: Malik Jefferson, Inside Linebacker, Texas

They Bengals dominate OL is gone and they don't have the skill position players to make a playoff run especially at QB but unless everyone gets fired they will stick with Dalton. Barkley doesn't make sense here unless Joe Mixon had a terrible year, nor does Ridley since the drafted John Ross. Jefferson gets the nod.

9. Panthers: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

The Panthers got exposed in the Super Bowl and never recovered. They still don't have quality OT's nor a dominate defense. Wow, you are saying, they took McCaffrey. Yes they did but Stewart will be another year older and having Barkley and McCaffrey sounds amazing!

10. Browns: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

The foolish Texans traded away a 2018 1st round pick for Watson. The Browns capitalize by taking a WR for their new QB.

11. Saints: Prospect not selected

*Lamar Jackson QB*
Different year, same results. Great offense, horrible defense. SURPRISE! Jackson is a dynamic offense weapon. Sean Payton could groom him for 1 year while he learns under Dree Brees before taking over and continued to . make the Saints a great offensive team. If Jared Goff can go #1 overall, Jackson can go #11.

12. Ravens: Mitch Hyatt, Offensive Tackle, Clemson

The defense can't carry them anymore and their offense stinks. Who are the WR's again? They passed on Cam Robinson in 2017, so they still need an OT.

13. Colts: Christian Wilkins, Defensive Tackle, Clemson

The still have no OL and I doubt their defensive Free Agent signings make enough of a difference to really improve. Wilkins should continue to improve the defensive unit.

14. Cardinals: Jarrett Stidham, Quarterback, Auburn

The Cards are a fading team. Their QB is old and brittle, plus their defense isn't dominating like it was. They need a future QB.

15. Broncos: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

They have a running game and defense but still haven't solved the QB question. You can never have enough quality CB's in the NFL.

16. Bills: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

Have the Bills really improved? When in doubt add a pass rusher.
