What are the most coveted positions in the NFL? Elite QB's, Elite pass rushers, and Elite left tackles. Since this draft is lacking as far as we know in the other categories, this becomes an easy pick. Take the projected elite pass rusher.
I believe the 49ers plan on signing Kirk Cousins straight up next off season. So that take's QB out of the equation. So then you take BPA; which in my opinion (with garret off the board) is Jamal Adams. Think about what adding a Brian Dawkins type of player to a defense can do. That's what I believe Adams brings. Fire, intensity, leadership. With this pick the 49ers get the leader on D that they have missed since Willis.
The bears can go a number of different ways here. But again, since they believe in Glennon, QB isn't an option this early. So the bears go get a stud athlete that can line up in multiple fronts for them to establish a solid front seven on paper.
They haven't given up on Bortles yet, and with them doing typical Jags things and loading up on defensive talent in free agency, go get your struggling young QB some weapons. Nothing takes the pressure of a QB more than knowing they have a solid ground game, making teams respect play action, etc.
After a solid pro day 40 time, this has to be the pick right? Big bodied receivers that can go up and get those fades, back shoulder throws, and 50-50 balls for their QB's don't grow on trees. The titans go get their budding young QB his No.1 receiver for years to come.
Deep down, I know the Jets will take a QB here, even thought they shouldn't. Taking a QB here with the complete lack of weapons the Jets have on offense, would be a mistake that too many NFL teams seem to make. Build the team up, then go get a QB. With Howard, they get a great run blocking tight end that fits the Jets style, and a reliable pass catcher. Two birds, one stone.
Losing Eric Weddle last year hurt, obviously. Malik Hooker will help soothe that pain. Take the ball hawking Free Safety here. Easy pick.
Coming off of a surprisingly bad year with a talented roster, the Panthers add a dynamic weapon out of the backfield in Cook, to take the aging Stewart's starting job.
I struggled deciding between Foster or Ramsyck with this pick. But Ray Mal is now 30, Foster can come in and eventually, take over the mike position for the bengals in a smooth transition. In the meantime, stick him at either SLB or Will as he adjusts.
Put him on the opposite side of Darby to help get that defense back to where it used to be a few years back.
Sean Payton has stated numerous times this offseason that upgrading the pass rush is a must. Since we didn't address this in free agency, all signs point to picking the best one available at this point in the draft. Derek Barnett is that guy.
No need to rush for a QB just yet Browns fans, keep building thyat roster up, and add a top 5 player based on talent at pick number 12. Think of the nasty things a dline consisting of Garret, Allen, Shelton, Ogbah, can inflict on opposing QB's.
One of the biggest knocks on Trubisky is his lack of game time. Let Mitchell sit and learn behind a great QB in Palmer for a year or two and the Cardinals will have themselves another franchise QB.
In a division where you have to face Odell, B marsh, Dez, Sterling, Jordan Reed, etc twice a year, Corners are invaluable. They did a good job of getting Wentz good receiving options this off season. Now go help the defense.
I'm not even a Colts fan and I want this pick to happen so bad. He just reminds me so much of Reggie Wayne/Marvin Harrison with his route running ability and reliable hands. Give Luck a true No. 1 receiver.
The priority here is replacing Wagner, solid pick.
