2017 NFL Mock Draft by Cap`n Crunch April
Published at 4/24/2017 12:51:46 AM

Here we are 4 days away from the big draft. Last year at this time the big trades were done. I`m a Fantasy Football junkie so I love the draft. Had a few thoughts on the top 6 players from 2016 ,was cool how they actually panned out so I thought I`d do it again this year. Went with 15 players this year showing the depth of this years draft.. Most intriguing ?? Watson-Trubisky-Mahomes-Webb & Kizer... Once again , just like last year, the QB position has the most questions and interest. Safest picks? Garrett-Thomas-Adams-Barnett & McCaffrey all look NFL ready. Most athletic? Peppers-Samuel-Melifonwu-Ross... GARRETT Just wow on how deep this draft class is. Best in decades.

Round 1

1. Browns: Myles Garrett, Defensive End, Texas A&M

Great player. Has beaten most of the OT`s in this class. Cam Robinson has been the only one to contain him. Lackluster in recent games won`t hurt his value too much.
HUGE combine showing the Browns he is the only player to take @ #1.

also could trade down with a big offer.. would have to be a H. Walker/R. Williams level of trade bait for them to even consider it. *SIDE NOTE* If they take Trubisky @ # 1 I see them trading their unicorn glitter for a straightjacket.... crazyness on the rumors they can`t decide on who to take.....

tek ranking #1.

2. 49ers: Solomon Thomas, Defensive End, Stanford

Fastest rising prospect on most boards. Outstanding motor & talent. Took over the Sun bowl against a decent NC team and made Trubisky look average. Great tape & his combine was very impressive making him a great player for the 49ers. I`m not buying into a QB here. Being honest, I think M. Barkley did well considering his Bears team had little to offer as support. Granted he`s not a franchise QB, neither is Hoyer. I can also see them trading down...or back into the 1st if they want to look @ QB then.

tek ranking #2.

3. Jets: Malik Hooker, Free Safety, Ohio State

*TRADE UP WITH CHI* swap 2017 1st round picks & give CHI 2018 2nd & 3rd round picks. Jets take a chance on recent injury news and take a great talent.

tek ranking #3.

4. Jaguars: Jamal Adams, Strong Safety, LSU

Jags D is young and talented. Adams is another piece to a rising defense.

tek ranking #4.

5. Bengals: Marshon Lattimore, Cornerback, Ohio State

Bengals take a great CB@ 5. CB is very deep this year & possibly the best CB class ever. Hamstring concerns are valid but he ran very well at the combine. The CB position has been the most volatile this off-season. ( Tabor & Humphrey dropping IE, Conley & King rising )

*TRADE UP WITH TEN* swap 2017 1st round picks & give TEN 2018 3rd & 4th round pick.

tek ranking #6.

6. Bears: Jonathan Allen, Defensive Tackle, Alabama

Dominate player. Shoulder may be a issue but he was outstanding for the last 2 years. Better than A. Donald possibly.

*TRADE DOWN WITH NYJ* Receive 2017 #6 & 2018 2nd & 3rd round picks.

tek ranking #23.

7. Chargers: Derek Barnett, Defensive End, Tennessee

Looked great all season. Average combine but has tons of outstanding game tape -vs- top ranked teams. Chargers are a hard team to predict. He will compliment Bosa quite well.
They will look at Safety RD2.

tek ranking #10.

8. Panthers: Leonard Fournette, Running Back, LSU

Panthers think his ankle is in good health and grab a huge RB with tons of upside.

tek ranking #5.

9. Titans: O.J. Howard, Tight End, Alabama

1st surprise of the draft but the Titans see him as a game changing talent rarely seen in typical prospects. Best TE in years. Looked awesome at SR Bowl. Great blocking. Athletic. Perfect fit.
from rams trade

*TRADE DOWN WITH CINCY* receive 2017 # 9 and 2018 3rd and 4th RD pick.

tek ranking #11.

10. Bills: Mike Williams, Wide Receiver, Clemson

Great WR for the Bills. Possible trade down for a QB later this draft.

tek ranking #7.

11. Saints: Jabrill Peppers, Strong Safety, Michigan

Him playing so many positions in college has many wondering where he`ll fit. Players with versatility IMO offer value & versatility. He can focus on Safety but has the ability to help out on special teams, OLB, & some offense. Great fit as the Saints have many needs.

tek ranking #9.

12. Browns: Mitch Trubisky, Quarterback, North Carolina

Browns stay patient and still get the local kid for their franchise QB. Had a amazing year in 2017.Very accurate on most throws. Looked shaky in a few games this year but that was against top level talent. ( S. Thomas )

tek ranking #12.

13. Cardinals: Patrick Mahomes II, Quarterback, Texas Tech

Combine was big for all the QB`s in 2017. Had a amazing year in 2017. The big armed QB keeps rising up boards each week.

tek ranking #18.

14. Eagles: Dalvin Cook, Running Back, Florida State

Eagles take the best RB with a clean bill of health. Minor red flags with possible off-field issues has him falling slightly. Watching him on primetime I saw a dynamic natural player... always made big plays in big games.

from viking trade

tek ranking #8.

15. Colts: Haason Reddick, Outside Linebacker, Temple

He just keeps rising each week. VERY athletic. Moves well but may need coaching up if teams move him to ILB. They will look at RB & O-line prospects RD 2 thru 4.

tek ranking # 19.

16. Ravens: Corey Davis, Wide Receiver, Western Michigan

Ravens grab a dynamic WR is RD 1. His injury has kept him from rising up boards. Not sure if they will draft a red flag player such as R. Foster and this also fills a big need with S. Smith retired.

tek ranking #13.
