HardcoreVikesFan's 2016 NFL Mock Draft - FINAL UPDATE!!!
Published at 4/28/2016 10:24:39 AM

I don't project trades. I put teams on trade watch. Thank you for reading. It has been another fun offseason. I appreciate all and any feedback. *NOTE* Walt's site is screwing me over. For some reason, my write ups for Miami, Tennessee, and Detroit are not showing.

Round 1

1. Rams: Jared Goff, Quarterback, California

The Rams better not 'add' to the suspense by having the clock tick away before announcing Jared Goff as their choice.

2. Eagles: Carson Wentz, Quarterback, North Dakota State

Ditto for the Eagles. These better be the fastest first two picks in the NFL Draft history.

3. Chargers: Jalen Ramsey, Free Safety, Florida State

Ronnie Stanley? Do you want an industrial-strength smoke detector to go with your Wheaties? At least the DeForest Buckner rumors are a bit more believable. Still, I don't see how Jalen Ramsey will not be the pick. The Chargers' safeties are a mess.

4. Cowboys: Joey Bosa, Defensive End, Ohio State

Dallas really doesn't have a choice other than to take Bosa. By the time they pick again in the second round, the talent at defensive end will have significantly plummeted. Besides, Dallas has needs at both defensive end and defensive tackle. There is a good chance a very good defensive tackle will still be hanging around in the second frame of this draft.

5. Jaguars: Myles Jack, Outside Linebacker, UCLA

Nothing makes the BS meter ring off the hook more than what is happening to Myles Jack right meow. I mean, come on. One day, the guy has 'healthy' knees, and the next, there are major concerns? As someone who is in the sports medicine field, let me tell you, it doesn't work that way. Yes, Myles Jack has pathology about his knee - he has since the day he declared for the draft. What is not apparent, is the severity of his injury. Regardless, some team is trying to kill this guy's stock in the hopes they can draft him.

6. Ravens: Laremy Tunsil, Offensive Tackle, Ole Miss

Since when did Ronnie Stanley become the better left tackle prospect? Oh, what's that? He didn't? He never was? Well damn.

7. 49ers: DeForest Buckner, Defensive End, Oregon

To quote one Snoop Dogg: "Chip Kelly kill yo' self you dumbass coach. You sorry as **** cuh." Good times.

Unlike most of the Oregon players Chip Kelly has had a hand in drafting, DeForest Buckner has All-Pro potential.

8. Browns: Ronnie Stanley, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

*Pick is on trade watch*

Cleveland has a major need at right tackle. With picks to burn in this draft, Cleveland can afford using a high pick on an offensive lineman.

9. Buccaneers: Vernon Hargreaves, Cornerback, Florida

Hey Tampa, I would love to know what you want to do in this draft. I would really appreciate it. Honestly, I can see four players being considered at this juncture: Hargreaves, Sheldon Rankins, Shaq Lawson, and Leonard Floyd.

Or maybe I am just an idiot, and the real target is Hingle Mccringleberry from Penn St.

10. Giants: Leonard Floyd, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

New York will rush to the podium to draft Leonard Floyd if he is available tonight. Their linebackers need to be upgraded more than Jim Mora needs to talk about playoffs.

11. Bears: Ezekiel Elliott, Running Back, Ohio State

Some team is going to trade up for Elliott before this pick I feel - effectively continuing a streak where my mock draft is ruined (9 years in a row now)!

12. Saints: Sheldon Rankins, Defensive Tackle, Louisville

Sheldon Rankins is the best three-technique in this draft. In New Orleans' defense he will split out to 5-technique in base, and kicked inside in nickel or dime.

13. Dolphins: Eli Apple, Cornerback, Ohio State

You know you have great scouts when they trash a guy that is a first-round draft pick for not being able to cook an apple (bad pun, I know).

14. Raiders: Darron Lee, Outside Linebacker, Ohio State

Darron Lee is not a tradition 3-4 ILB, but he is what the Raiders need at backer. Just like the Cubs, this is finally Oakland's year! Right...?

15. Titans: Jack Conklin, Offensive Tackle, Michigan State

Conklin is the third-best offensive tackle in the draft. So it makes since that Tennessee gave up Larmey Tunsil for him.

16. Lions: Shaq Lawson, Defensive End, Clemson

I miss the days of mocking a first round receiver to the Lions. Good times.
