Myth: The Saints have a need at safety.

Truth: No, they don't. Contrary to what every single person that does mock drafts for the Saints seems to do, Sean Payton isn't basing the status of his team off of one playoff loss. Roman Harper is not a good coverage safety, but he was forced to cover way in the playoff game more than he has had to all year because Malcolm Jenkins was out. Harper is one of Gregg Williams' favourite players on the defense and he is a stud when it comes to stopping the run. Free safety is not a need at all because Malcolm Jenkins was one of the teams best defensive players last year and was a 2nd team All-Pro in only his first year playing safety. The only real issue is that Harper can potentially be a free agent, but even so both sides have expressed a desire to sign a deal.

Truth: Dan Connolly played in 14 games this year and started 13. He filled in for Logan Mankins and was very solid. It is a need, but it isn't a giant need - I would consider OT a bigger need because of Matt Light's potential departure. Also a few months back we got a report that the Patriots wanted Nick Kaczur to take a pay cut, if he is cut, there is a fair chance that we could address the interior of our O-Line early, but I don't see it otherwise.
Connolly was average. Hes a (good) career back up and ST beast

On the injury front, hearing there is one highly rated prospect who is really liked by just about every NFL team and was at the NFL Combine that failed a number of medical evaluations because of a back issue, which was deemed potentially career threatening.

    Anyone know who that is?
