NFL Week 17 Fantasy Wide Receiver Rankings

To differentiate between all the "Start 'Ems" on my Fantasy Football Start Em, Sit Em page, you can check out the Weekly Fantasy Football Rankings, so you can figure out whom to start between Player X and Player Y.

Below are my fantasy wide receiver rankings and a set of links for my positional Weekly NFL Fantasy Football Rankings. Keep in mind that this list is for this week only; not the entire rest of the season.

The rankings are based on a traditional scoring system. Compensate for PPR and touchdown leagues accordingly.

2012 Fantasy Football Weekly Rankings: QB | RB | WR | TE | DEF

Updated 12/30. Follow @walterfootball for updates.
  1. Calvin Johnson, Lions
The Lions are going to make an effort to have Calvin Johnson break 2,000 yards. It's not like they have anything else to play for.

  2. Brandon Marshall, Bears
Jay Cutler has no one else to throw to, so he'll keep forcing it to Brandon Marshall. The Lions won't be able to stop him.

  3. Andre Johnson, Texans
Andre Johnson is on fire right now. The Colts have nothing to play for.

  4. Dez Bryant, Cowboys
Dez Bryant cannot be stopped. He'll continue his domination against the Redskins.

  5. Wes Welker, Patriots
Wes Welker caught 12 balls for 103 yards and a touchdown the last time he played the Dolphins.

  6. Eric Decker, Broncos
Eric Decker cooled off considerably in November, but he has 22 receptions for 286 yards and three touchdowns the past three weeks. How are the Chiefs going to stop him?

  7. Demaryius Thomas, Broncos
Demaryius Thomas has topped 80 yards in four of his previous five games with four touchdowns in that span. Keep riding him against the Chiefs.

  8. Steve Smith, Panthers
Cam Newton's on fire, which would explain why Steve Smith has enjoyed four consecutive big performances. Make it five against New Orleans' pathetic secondary.

  9. Vincent Jackson, Buccaneers
Josh Freeman is regressing, but Vincent Jackson remains a starting-caliber fantasy wideout. The concern is that he has only one touchdown since Week 11.

  10. Marques Colston, Saints
Marques Colston hasn't caught a touchdown since Week 12, but he did have 10 receptions for 153 yards on Sunday.

  11. Danario Alexander, Chargers
Danario Alexander rebounded from his goose-egg performance against the Jets. He'll have an easy time beating the pathetic Raiders.

  12. Victor Cruz, Giants
Victor Cruz has done nothing the past two weeks, but perhaps he'll rebound in Week 17; he had nine receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown the last time he played the Eagles.

  13. Pierre Garcon, Redskins
Pierre Garcon continues to be Robert Griffin's primary read on almost every play. Don't have any reservations about starting him against the pathetic Dallas defense.

  14. Brandon Lloyd, Patriots
Brandon Lloyd has become such a big part of the offense in the wake of Julian Edelman's injury.

  15. Michael Crabtree, 49ers
Michael Crabtree snagged two touchdowns the last time he went up against the Cardinals. He can be used as a WR2 again.

  16. Justin Blackmon, Jaguars
With Cecil Shorts out, Justin Blackmon will see an uptick in targets. He has 20 receptions the past three weeks.

  17. Antonio Brown, Steelers
Antonio Brown will see more passes come his way with Heath Miller and perhaps Mike Wallace out.

  18. Jordy Nelson, Packers - 12/29
    Jordy Nelson is probable.

  19. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
Brian Hoyer can actually get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald, which is nice.

  20. James Jones, Packers
No one except Arian Foster has scored more touchdowns than James Jones this year, which is remarkable.

  21. Lance Moore, Saints
As always, Lance Moore is a decent WR3/flex option with touchdown potential.

  22. Jeremy Maclin, Eagles
Jeremy Maclin and Nick Foles had some nice chemistry going, so it's a shame that Foles is out with a broken hand.

  23. Greg Jennings, Packers
Aaron Rodgers doesn't have the time in the pocket to find Greg Jennings deep. That's killing Jennings' fantasy value.

  24. Steve Johnson, Bills
Steve Johnson is Ryan Fitzpatrick's only legitimate downfield option, so he'll continue to see tons of targets.

  25. Miles Austin-Jones, Cowboys
Miles Austin-Jones dropped three passes against the Saints, but he managed to catch his second touchdown since Week 7. He's not a strong play against the Redskins, but he can be started.

  26. Mike Williams, Buccaneers
Mike Williams has three touchdowns in his previous four games, so he obviously hasn't been affected by Josh Freeman's struggles.

  27. Danny Amendola, Rams (PPR+)
Danny Amendola disappointed his fantasy owners last week, but he should be able to rebound. He had six grabs for 55 yards and a touchdown the first time he played Seattle.

  28. Kenny Britt, Titans
Kenny Britt has had to count on garbage-time stats. He has just one game since Week 9 in which he's caught more than three balls. Playing the Jaguars could fix that though.

  29. A.J. Green, Bengals
The Bengals have nothing to play for, so they could bench their starters.

  30. Julio Jones, Falcons
The Falcons have nothing to play for, so they could bench their starters.

  31. Reggie Wayne, Colts
The Colts have nothing to play for, so they could bench their starters.

  32. TY Hilton, Colts
The Colts have nothing to play for, so they could bench their starters.

  33. Torrey Smith, Ravens
The Ravens have nothing to play for, so they could bench their starters.

  34. Josh Gordon, Browns - 12/28
Josh Gordon won't have to deal with Champ Bailey this week, but his two quarterbacks are likely out.

  35. Hakeem Nicks, Giants - 12/27
Hakeem Nicks practiced Thursday, but barely did anything. He said he's not sure if he'll be able to play.

  36. Santana Moss, Redskins
  37. Brian Hartline, Dolphins
  38. Greg Little, Browns
  39. Emmanuel Sanders, Steelers
  40. Kendall Wright, Titans
  41. Sidney Rice, Seahawks
  42. Randall Cobb, Packers (questionable) - 12/29
  43. Roddy White, Falcons (active; may play a couple of series) - 12/30
  44. Alshon Jeffery, Bears
  45. Denarius Moore, Raiders
  46. Chris Givens, Rams
  47. Nate Washington, Titans
  48. Domenik Hixon, Giants
  49. Dexter McCluster, Chiefs
  50. Rod Streater, Raiders
  51. Golden Tate, Seahawks
  52. Andre Roberts, Cardinals
  53. Brandon Stokley, Broncos
  54. Dwayne Harris, Cowboys
  55. Darrius Heyward-Bey, Raiders
  56. Andrew Hawkins, Bengals
  57. Brandon LaFell, Panthers
  58. Randy Moss, 49ers
  59. Riley Cooper, Eagles
  60. Jermey Kerley, Jets
  61. Michael Floyd, Cardinals
  62. T.J. Graham, Bills
  63. Jarius Wright, Vikings
  64. Jerome Simpson, Vikings
  65. Devery Henderson, Saints
  66. Kevin Walter, Texans
  67. Donnie Avery, Colts (questionable) - 12/29
  68. Anquan Boldin, Steelers (out) - 12/30
  69. Mike Wallace, Steelers (out) - 12/29
  70. Davone Bess, Dolphins (out) - 12/29
  71. Cecil Shorts, Jaguars (out) - 12/26
  72. Mario Manningham, 49ers (out) - 12/26
