Chet Gresham's Week 3 Fantasy Football FLEX Rankings

To differentiate between all the "Start 'Ems" on Walt's Fantasy Football Start Em, Sit Em page, you can check out the Weekly Fantasy Football Rankings, so you can figure out whom to start between Player X and Player Y.

Below are my fantasy FLEX rankings and a set of links for my positional Weekly NFL Fantasy Football Rankings. Keep in mind that this list is for this week only; not the entire rest of the season.

The rankings are based on a traditional scoring system. Each player has Walterfootball.com's projected stats and standard scoring points.

Fantasy Football Weekly Rankings - PPR: RB | WR | TE | FLEX

But who do I start...

Quarterback
Wide Receiver
Running Back
Tight End

Updated 9/20 - Follow @walterfootball for updates.
  1. Le'Veon Bell, RB, Steelers (at Bears)- 18 Points
95 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 28 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Chicago can stop the run, but with so little offense, I expect the Steelers to have an imposing lead, which will lead to Bell seeing plenty of opportunities, which will eventually lead to a big day.

  2. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys (at Cardinals)- 14 Points
70 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 18 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
I expect we'll see a bounceback performance from Elliott this week. It may not be a huge game, but this week isn't full of easy running back matchups for studs.

  3. Melvin Gordon, RB, Chargers (vs. Chiefs)- 14 Points
95 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 50 Receiving Yards.
Gordon's usage at the goal line and in the passing game give him an extremely high floor each week, even in a tough matchup.

  4. Antonio Brown, WR, Steelers (at Bears)- 13 Points
    7 Catches, 78 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Bears tend to limit No. 1 receivers, but last week Mike Evans got to them fast. Brown is also a special player who you can't downgrade much against the Bears' personnel.

  5. Todd Gurley, RB, Rams (at 49ers)- 13 Points
95 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 38 Receiving Yards.
Gurley played better last week than I've seen him play in a long while. As long as he's getting good usage like he has been, I expect his floor is much higher than it has been in over a year.

  6. A.J. Green, WR, Bengals (at Packers)- 13 Points
    6 Catches, 72 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
The Bengals have been awful, but Green can beat the Packers' defense with consistency, and after he voiced his displeasure about the offense, expect him to see plenty of targets.

  7. Kareem Hunt, RB, Chiefs (at Chargers)- 12 Points
86 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 42 Receiving Yards.
Hunt has been unstoppable so far, and despite not allowing a touchdown to a running back yet, the Chargers have allowed 120 yards rushing per game.

  8. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons (at Lions)- 12 Points
    6 Catches, 66 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
This game has a chance to be close, and Jones could finally be used extensively, which means lots of fantasy points.

  9. Jay Ajayi, RB, Dolphins (at Jets)- 12 Points
90 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 36 Receiving Yards.
The Jets have allowed the second-most rushing yards to running backs, and Ajayi just piled up 122 yards rushing against a tough Chargers defense.

  10. Mike Evans, WR, Bucs (at Vikings)- 11 Points
    5 Catches, 53 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Evans looked good against the Bears, but will likely have trouble with Xavier Rhodes this week. Evans is too good to knock down too far, but he's not in the first tier this week.

  11. Carlos Hyde, RB, 49ers (vs. Rams)- 11 Points
84 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 27 Receiving Yards.
Hyde has been defying his overall offense by putting up good numbers, and the Rams aren't better than the Seahawks or Panthers, who Hyde had success against.

  12. C.J. Anderson, RB, Broncos (at Bills)- 11 Points
85 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 26 Receiving Yards.
Anderson showed that he's healthy last week by running all over the Cowboys, and now he gets a nice matchup against the Bills.

  13. Ty Montgomery, RB, Packers (vs. Bengals)- 10 Points
72 Rushing Yards, 4 Catches, 37 Receiving Yards.
The Bengals have allowed the third-most rushing yards this season, and Montgomery has been on fire, playing all downs and most snaps. Keep rolling him out there.

  14. Odell Beckham, WR, Giants (at Eagles)- 10 Points
    6 Catches, 47 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Beckham should be much closer to 100 percent this week after not facing any setbacks in Week 2. He's going to break out at some point, but he still feels like a boom-or-bust candidate.

  15. Jordy Nelson, WR, Packers (vs. Bengals)- 10 Points
    5 Catches, 46 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
We'll need to learn more about his injury status, but if he's good to go, expect another top-flight game.

  16. Demaryius Thomas, WR, Broncos (at Bills)- 10 Points
    6 Catches, 105 Receiving Yards.
Siemian isn't going to be as precise as Peyton Manning when distributing touchdowns between his top-two receivers, but I expect Thomas to see a few extra targets near the goal line after Emmanuel Sanders reeled in two touchdowns last week.

  17. Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Panthers (vs. Saints)- 10 Points
    5 Catches, 104 Receiving Yards.
Benjamin should be in line for a touchdown this week, especially with Greg Olsen out. Don't overthink this one.

  18. Terrelle Pryor, WR, Redskins (vs. Raiders)- 10 Points
    5 Catches, 44 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
This is Pryor's best shot of breaking out, and I think it happens. If not, he is dead to me!

  19. Michael Crabtree, WR, Raiders (at Redskins)- 10 Points
    5 Catches, 44 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Crabtree is a beast in the red zone and has shown better than Amari Cooper near the goal line. Expect Crabtree to continue seeing red-zone targets, especially if Josh Norman shadows Cooper.

  20. Devonta Freeman, RB, Falcons (at Lions)- 10 Points
70 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 34 Receiving Yards.
The Lions did a good job stopping David Johnson in Week 1 and had little trouble with the Giants' running game last week, so I do worry about Freeman's upside. But as the goal-line back, he always has upside in this offense.

  21. Lesean McCoy, RB, Bills (vs. Broncos)- 10 Points
78 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 26 Receiving Yards.
McCoy was shut down by the Panthers last week and gets another painful matchup this week, but the Bills do play better at home. I expect we'll see a better game from Shady this week.

  22. Dalvin Cook, RB, Vikings (vs. Buccaneers)- 10 Points
71 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 31 Receiving Yards.
Tampa Bay has only faced a Bears team who was behind early, so the stats against the run are pretty stout, as they probably will be even against better offenses. Cook, however, has shown enough for me to keep him as a RB1, though he does need Sam Bradford back.

  23. Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers (vs. Chiefs)- 10 Points
    6 Catches, 42 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Allen is almost impossible to stop over the middle and should continue to be a player who won't be overmatched and have a good fantasy floor.

  24. Amari Cooper, WR, Raiders (at Redskins)- 10 Points
    6 Catches, 101 Receiving Yards.
I see Cooper getting his shots in the red zone this week, but he'll likely see a lot of Josh Norman.

  25. Dez Bryant, WR, Cowboys (at Cardinals)- 10 Points
    4 Catches, 41 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Bryant should be shadowed by Patrick Peterson this week, giving him a third game in which he'll see tremendous individual defense. Bryant's always in line for a touchdown like he wrangled against Aqib Talib last week, so you can't throw him to the wayside.

  26. Alshon Jeffery, WR, Eagles (vs. Giants)- 10 Points
    5 Catches, 41 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.
Jeffery would get a big bump if Janoris Jenkins is out again, but it does look like he'll be able to play. I expect Ertz to be the go-to guy this week, but Jeffery is always a good bet for a touchdown.

  27. Brandin Cooks, WR, Patriots (vs. Texans)- 10 Points
    5 Catches, 41 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.

  28. Tyreek Hill, WR, Chiefs (at Chargers)- 10 Points
    7 Catches, 101 Receiving Yards.

  29. Isaiah Crowell, RB, Browns (at Colts)- 10 Points
65 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 36 Receiving Yards.
Crowell has done nothing this season, but has also faced two strong run defenses. He should have a better shot at 15+ carries in this game and could easily put up top numbers against the Colts' weak defense.

  30. Golden Tate, WR, Lions (vs. Falcons)- 10 Points
    6 Catches, 40 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.

  31. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Texans (at Patriots)- 9 Points
    6 Catches, 99 Receiving Yards.

  32. Jarvis Landry, WR, Dolphins (at Jets)- 9 Points
    7 Catches, 98 Receiving Yards.

  33. Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals (vs. Cowboys)- 9 Points
    6 Catches, 98 Receiving Yards.

  34. Michael Thomas, WR, Saints (at Panthers)- 9 Points
    6 Catches, 37 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.

  35. Stefon Diggs, WR, Vikings (vs. Buccaneers)- 9 Points
    6 Catches, 96 Receiving Yards.

  36. Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Broncos (at Bills)- 9 Points
    5 Catches, 96 Receiving Yards.

  37. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Panthers (vs. Saints)- 9 Points
40 Rushing Yards, 5 Catches, 55 Receiving Yards.

  38. DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins (at Jets)- 9 Points
    5 Catches, 35 Receiving Yards, 1 TD.

  39. Doug Baldwin, WR, Seahawks (at Titans)- 9 Points
    6 Catches, 95 Receiving Yards.

  40. Leonard Fournette, RB, Jaguars (vs. Ravens)- 9 Points
61 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 33 Receiving Yards.

  41. Marshawn Lynch, RB, Raiders (at Redskins)- 9 Points
60 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 32 Receiving Yards.

  42. Martavis Bryant, WR, Steelers (at Bears)- 9 Points
    4 Catches, 92 Receiving Yards.

  43. Davante Adams, WR, Packers (vs. Bengals)- 8 Points
    5 Catches, 89 Receiving Yards.

  44. T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts (vs. Browns)- 8 Points
    4 Catches, 87 Receiving Yards.

  45. Samaje Perine, RB, Redskins (vs. Raiders)- 8 Points
74 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 13 Receiving Yards.

  46. Pierre Garcon, WR, 49ers (vs. Rams)- 8 Points
    4 Catches, 86 Receiving Yards.

  47. J.J. Nelson, WR, Cardinals (vs. Cowboys)- 8 Points
    4 Catches, 86 Receiving Yards.

  48. Randall Cobb, WR, Packers (vs. Bengals)- 8 Points
    6 Catches, 85 Receiving Yards.

  49. Lamar Miller, RB, Texans (at Patriots)- 8 Points
65 Rushing Yards, 2 Catches, 19 Receiving Yards.

58 Rushing Yards, 3 Catches, 26 Receiving Yards.
