2011 Fantasy Football Training Camp Stock - Week of Aug. 22

AUG. 25

I'll have my 2011 Fantasy Football Rankings updated Thursday morning to take these stocks into account.

Dallas Clark, TE, Colts
Indianapolis signed Kerry Collins, and Adam Schefter later reported that the Colts don't believe Peyton Manning will be ready for the opener. Dallas Clark's numbers obviously have to drop a bit.

Austin Collie, WR, Colts
I'm slightly decreasing Austin Collie's projected stats because the Colts signed Kerry Collins. Adam Schefter is reporting that Indianapolis doesn't believe Peyton Manning will be ready for Week 1.

Ryan Grant, RB, Packers
There were reports indicating Ryan Grant could be a final roster cut in two weeks, but Ryan Grant is guaranteed the $3.5 million. Still, James Starks is likely to take over as the starter sometime in the first half of the season.

Peyton Manning, QB, Colts
The Colts have pried Kerry Collins out of retirement. The initial thinking was that he was just serving as a major upgrade over Curtis "Finger" Painter. But Adam Schefter reported later that Indianapolis doesn't expect Manning to be ready for the opener at Houston.

Ray Rice, RB, Ravens
The Ravens signed Bryant McKinnie to be their new left tackle. While McKinnie sucks at protecting the quarterback, he's not a bad run-blocker. I'm hardly praising him, so why the stock up for Ray Rice? Because it allows Michael Oher to play right tackle and Marshal Yanda to stay at right guard. In other words, the dreadful Oniel Cousins is no longer being asked to start, thus Rice will have better run blocking.

James Starks, RB, Packers
Copy-paste job: There were reports indicating Ryan Grant could be a final roster cut in two weeks, but Ryan Grant is guaranteed the $3.5 million. Still, James Starks is likely to take over as the starter sometime in the first half of the season.

Reggie Wayne, WR, Colts
With the Colts signing Kerry Collins and expecting Peyton Manning to miss Week 1, Reggie Wayne has to drop in my 2011 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings.

I'm an Auburn Grad, so i got to watch Ben Tate pretty closely. He has a huge upside, and i noticed both he and Kendall Hunter were hanging around late in my Fantasy Draft so i grabbed Tate (hunter had a bad bye week for me).

?? I've heard the Texans coach say he may start Derrick Ward in front of Tate. First of all that's goofy, but what i'd like to know is should i start Tate or T. Hightower in Wk 1?

Thanks

Hey Walter,

I'm looking for a little advice. 2 QB very deep league (2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 flex), I took Vick, Brees and Felix. It's my pick. PPR for WRs, .5 PPR for RBs. I'm between Best, Blount, Greene, Turner, Mike Wallace, Wayne, Austin, Dez and Welker. I don't pick again for 17 picks.

Best worries me to rely on as my 2nd skill position player b/c of injury. Blount, Greene and Turner won't catch any passes. I don't love Wayne or Austin. It seems too early for Dez or Welker. Which leaves Wallace, but are you convinced he makes that next step this year?

Who would you take?

What round should James Starks move up to. I think he will be a beast sleeper and don't want to miss him with out reaching to far?
