Live 2011 NFL Draft Blog

My Thoughts on the 2011 NFL Draft - Live on Draft Day!

What is this? I'll be posting my thoughts on the 2011 NFL Draft here. That will include everything from the actual picks, to the ESPN personalities, to the commercials, etc. Anything goes. Emmitt Smith, Tom Cable, Josh McDaniels, Eric Mangini and Shannon Sharpe will even join me as special guests! This page will be updated every five minutes or so, so I hope you join me for the 2011 NFL Draft!

By the way, I'll be posting live 2011 NFL Draft Grades for individual picks. Overall 2011 NFL Draft Grades will be up on Monday morning. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.

Also, you can discuss the 2011 NFL Draft in the soon-to-be-posted Live In-Draft Thread on the forums, or post a comment below.

6:30: Let's begin my live draft blog with 10 predictions for the 2011 NFL Draft:

1. As Facebook friend Kevin W. wrote: "Looking forward to watching teams jump into the first round destroy your mock??"

Indeed. Trades and dumb picks will be made which will ruin my 2011 NFL Mock Draft.

2. Because my mock will be ruined, I'll receive at least 20 e-mails that look like:

"YOUR AN MORON! YOU'RE MOCK SOCKS AND MEL KIPOR AND MAYCOCK ARE SMARTAR THEN YOU!!!"

3. One team drafting in the top 12 will do something incredibly stupid. Last year it was Jacksonville. This year, I'm thinking Tennessee might be the guilty party. Hey, maybe there's a reason why the Colts win the AFC South every year.

4. Because of what I just said, I'll receive at least 20 e-mails that look like:

"YOUR AN MORON! JAGUAR PICK TYSON ALOALO PLAYED GOD LAST SEASONE!"

5. ESPN will cut to a commercial and miss one of the late first-round picks (I'm guessing Tampa Bay's).

6. Another prediction from two years ago: Tom Jackson will laugh at every joke. Keyshawn Johnson will make a joke and no one will laugh.

7. I'm going to bash one of these first-round picks. That player will become a Pro Bowler in a few years.

8. Trent Dilfer will praise every single quarterback in this class. Dilfer will also use the word "special" 20 times.

9. Adam Schefter will spoil every single pick.

10. A prediction from two years ago: Mel Kiper's hair will fly off of his head and attack Todd McShay. McShay, however, will use his new radioactive skin to burn Mel's hair. That, or McShay's tanning buddy Alphonse will come to his rescue.

6:36: I wanted to touch on what I said about Schefter. I love Schefter. He's a God amongst men. But I hate - HATE - how he ruins all of the picks.

All I can say is, thank God TV networks don't hire Schefter to work their shows. Can you imagine a LOST episode interrupted by Schefter?

"I've heard from multiple sources that the Smoke Monster will in fact kill Mr. Eko in this episode."

How much would that suck?

6:38: Alphonse from the tanning salon told Todd McShay that Tyron Smith is the top tackle in this class. Damn it, why can't I have such great inside sources?

6:41: Ugh, ESPN may not talk about Brett Favre today, but we just saw a commercial of him promoting his precious Wrangler Jeans. Here's a link to my Jerks of the Week entry about Brett Favre's Wrangler Jeans Commercials.

6:44: Is it just me, or is every single person on ESPN wearing a pink tie today? Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

6:46: Never mind. Steve Young is sporting a blue tie. As Emmitt would say, "Steve Young not a homophobe like the other homophobe wearin' pink tire."

6:51: Here's why Cam Newton is never going to be a great quarterback:

Offensive Coordinator: OK, Cam, Split Right 787 check swing, check V.

Cam Newton: Uhh... chicken wing?

Offensive Coordinator: No, Cam. Split Right 787 check swing, check V.

Cam Newton: Uhh... split V... Who is V?

Offensive Coordinator: Ugh. Never mind. Just run around and throw the ball if someone's open.

Cam Newton: OK, coach!

6:53: Oh no. I hate these stupid DJ Steve Porter videos. I may need some of Ryan Mallett's stash to help cope with it.

6:55: While there are commercials going on, here are some legend - wait for it - dary posts from the past few draft blogs:

1. Was it just me or did Brady Quinn smile after the Cardinals pick? His thoughts? "Phew, I don't have to go Arizona and have my career ruined!" (2007 Post)

2. Mike Tirico just said Brady Quinn is showing poise in the Green Room. What's Quinn supposed to do, pull out a knife, start randomly stabbing people and paint his face blue? He'd slip to the second round if he did that. (2007 Post)

3. "He already resurgenst his career." -- Steve Young. Resurgenst? I'm telling you, one too many concussions. Maybe Young can have a concussionest and forgetest that he said that. (2007 Post)

4. Steve Young thinks Jon Kitna's the best quarterback in the NFC North. Umm... Aaron Rodgers? Concussions + QB Depth Charts = Confusion. Poor Steve. (2008 Post)

5. "Austin Miles filled in nicely." - Steve Young. Where's that concussion medicine? (2010 Post)

6. With the No. 17 pick, the Detroit Lions select Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College. I don't think Matt Millen has heard of Jeff Otah. He must be too busy blackmailing William Clay Ford. (2008 Post)

7. Apparently, the Seahawks just signed someone named "Wilson Tatufa." This is being reported by Keyshawn Johnson. (2008 Post)

8. "That last isn't last. If there were 50 teams, they'd be 50th." -- Steve Young. Someone quickly get Steve Young's concussion medicine! (2008 Post)

9. "We need a quarterback, left tackle and nose tackle! We don't need a running back! Let's take a running back!" This is why the Bills continue to pick in the top 12 every year. (2010 Post)

10. With the No. 54 pick, the Tennessee Titans select Jason Jones, DE, Michigan State.

Dear Vince Young,

We hate you. We will never give you a good receiver. We will surround you with crap like Justin McCareins and Eric Moulds. We want you to fail. We will salt your wounds and burn your lands. Death to the Philistines!

Sincerely,

Titans Front Office (2008 Post)

6:57: NOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT DJ STEVE PORTER AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!1

7:01: I had to leave the room. I couldn't take DJ Steve Porter anymore. I've consoled myself by making a cheddar cheese sandwich NOM NOM NOM NOM.

7:03: I did manage to hear that Keyshawn Johnson thinks Jake Locker will be the first quarterback to make the Pro Bowl out of this class. Damn it, Keyshawn, don't steal any of Ryan Mallett's "recreational supplements."

7:07: Because I'm a degenerate gambler, I wanted to look at some props. A nice one on Bodog is Tyron Smith -150 to be the No. 9 pick. Rick Gosselin just doesn't get Dallas picks wrong. Even if his mocks are now behind some dumb pay wall, which is useless because it all gets leaked anyway. I'd go on a tirade about how dumb the newspaper industry is, but it's not time for that. It's NFL Christmas!

7:09: It's amazing that this could be a record-setting draft for quarterbacks chosen, and yet this is one of the weakest quarterback classes in recent memory (not as bad as 2007 though).

7:10: Speaking of Andy Dalton, wasn't he a third-round prospect during the Senior Bowl? Maybe everyone is enjoying Ryan Mallett's goodies. OK, last Mallett joke, I swear.

7:11: Jenn Brown. HELLLOOOOOOO NURSE!!!!

7:13: I think there's more value with Jenn Brown than Erin Andrews because Jenn isn't as famous since she wasn't stalked or anything.

Eric Mangini would like to weigh in...

"Jenn Brown may seem hot, but believe me, I set up a camera in her bedroom, and she's not as hot as you think! I watch the camera I set up in Erin Andrews' bedroom much more. Of course, Erin Andrews is my almost girlfriend, but I would watch that camera regardless!"

7:17: A comment I just spotted below:

Over an hour away and already the first racist dig at Emmitt Smith. Way to go Walt, way to go. It doesn't surprise me that you're the kind of idiot watching the ESPN coverage instead of the vastly superior NFL Network coverage.

So, if I made fun of a white analyst's grammar, I'd be racist against white people? Is that how that works?

This person fits my Jerk of the Week entry of A**holes Who Cry Racist.

7:19: Bodog live draft odds:

Is Nick Saban lying right now? Yes -800; No +600

7:21: I think I can see my reflection through Mark Ingram's earrings. Eww, I just noticed that I have a booger coming out of my nose.

7:24: An amazing look-alike picture for Phil Taylor.

7:26: What the hell is with these baseball highlights? I want to hear some more Cam Newton analysis.

7:31: Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Patriots may move up to No. 10 if Robert Quinn is still on the board. One thing I don't understand about that - if the Patriots like Quinn so much, why don't the Redskins just take him? Washington should think, "Bill Belichick knows what he's doing. Maybe we'll get a stud if we take the guy he likes."

7:33: Shannon Sharpe is in the same building as Nick Fairley? I'd give away one of my kidneys to hear them interview each other.

7:35: Is it just me, or does Cameron Jordan look a lot like Julio Jones?

7:37: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7:41: This is magical. If you're not watching this on TV...

Roger Goodell walks on stage.

Drunk Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Drunk Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Drunk Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Drunk Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

*** Roger Goodell stares awkwardly. ***

Drunk Crowd: WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Drunk Crowd: WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!

*** Roger Goodell stares awkwardly. ***

Drunk Crowd: WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Drunk Crowd: WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!

Roger Goodell: OK, guys...

Drunk Crowd: WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!

Roger Goodell: OK, guys...

Drunk Crowd: WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!

Roger Goodell: OK, guys...

7:46: Do we really need highlights of Kevin Williams and Warren Sapp? I think we all know what a three-technique is.

7:50: Would it surprise anyone if Roger Goodell didn't come out to announce any of the picks? He may have had a nervous breakdown after hearing the crowd boo him off stage.

7:51: Ten minutes until the Panthers are on the clock. Per multiple sources, I hear that the pick is coming down to Cam Newton, Tyrod Taylor, Pat Devlin and Ollie Ogbu. The smart money is on Ollie Ogbu.

7:53: Does anyone watch these Fast and Furious movies? I guess so because they keep making stupid sequels. I don't get it. They drive cars fast and commit crimes, and there are hot chicks. Actually, that sounds pretty awesome.

7:55: "I've had a lot of crossroads in my career." -- Cam Newton. Umm, what? What career, your one year at Auburn in which you made $180,000? Yeah, life must be tough.

8:00: Well, at least the in-draft threads are classy. A post from Descendency:

holy ****. I saw a woman at the draft. Someone should tell her to get back in the kitchen.

8:01: Cam Newton on the phone. Damn it, I bet $50 on Ollie Ogbu.

8:02: A comment below:

In the 1st round, you will get 7 picks out of 32 correct. And most of those correct picks will come in the top 10.

BTW, Von Miller CAN play in a 4-3 system or a 3-4 system.

First of all, seven picks isn't bad. Stupid teams make stupid picks, which ruin mock drafts.

And I never said Von Miller can't play in a 4-3. He absolutely can. It's just that his pass-rushing talents will be wasted in the 4-3, and he won't be as effective as he would in the 3-4.

8:04: Roger Goodell is still flustered. The Dennis Green-esque nervous breakdown is coming. I know it.

With the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select QB Cam Newton

8:06: I got a pick right!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8:09: Look at that fake smile on Cam's face. Somewhere, Emmitt is thinking, "That do not look like a fake smile to me, but Cam Norton lucky that it is not rainin' cat and mouse inside the stadium because that would wash the fake smile off his mug."

8:10: As a reminder, I already graded the Cam Newton pick. Live draft grades for every pick this weekend will be made minutes after each selection.

8:12: So wait, is the Jimmy Clausen era over?

8:14: The Broncos ran a computer analysis on Von Miller? How about just analyzing whether or not he's a great fit in the 4-3 or not?

With the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select OLB Von Miller

8:15: I am two for two. I am awesome.

8:17: I can't wait for the Von Miller-Roger Goodell handshake.

Roger Goodell: Welcome to the NFL, Von.

Von Miller: I'm going to sue your a**.

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Von Miller: I'm going to sue you for all your money.

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

Von Miller: I'll see you in court.

Roger Goodell: I hear you.

8:18: Buffalo's on the clock, so let's go to a commercial. The Bills always get screwed.

8:20: I hate these damn Play 60 commercials. I can't understand what those kids are yelling in that crappy song.

With the No. 3 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select DE/DT Marcell Dareus

8:21: It's "Darr-ee-us," Goodell. Not "Dare-ee-us." Duh.

8:23: A Facebook message from Kevin H: "Walt, Since the Bills draft Nickel pass rushers and pass catchin' runnin' backs, do you think the Bills will draft a long snapper or place kicker holder in the first round?"

8:24: "The Bills have faith in Ryan Fitzpatrick." -- Mel Kiper. And there's your answer if you don't know why the Bills haven't made the playoffs in a decade.

With the No. 4 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select WR A.J. Green

8:26: Poor Mike Brown. He'll probably be drafting receivers for Carson Palmer in 2021. He just doesn't know when to give up. Carson is at his house, rolling around in his $80 million like Scrooge McDuck.

8:27: A comment from the Bengals draft grade page:

"I thought Walt was an arrogant prick. Well, he probably is."

You're damn right I'm an arrogant prick!

8:29: Here's where the draft really begins. I say it's Patrick Peterson. Maybe Robert Quinn. I'll be shocked if it's Blaine Gabbert.

8:30: Yes! Patrick Peterson! Five for five, baby. Of course, everyone is five for five, but let's just ignore that.

With the No. 5 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select CB Patrick Peterson

8:32: Atlanta is now on the clock!

8:33: The Falcons must be trading up for Adrian Clayborn.

8:34: I still count this as a correct pick. If you have a problem with that, well, meh.

8:35: Wait, this is not going to be Adrian Clayborn?

With the No. 6 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select WR Julio Jones

8:39: Trade recap: Atlanta gives up the No. 27 pick, a 2nd- and a 4th this year, and a 1st and a 4th next year. That's pretty insane.

I love this trade for Cleveland. They're going to get a ton of talented prospects. As for the Falcons, I have their draft grade posted.

8:41: The 49ers pick is in, but Blaine Gabbert wasn't on the phone. As I noted in my mock draft, this pick has haunted me for five months. I don't know whom San Francisco will take.

With the No. 7 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the 49ers select DE/OLB Aldon Smith

8:42: Wow, this one is out of left field. I don't think anyone projected Aldon Smith at No. 7.

8:45: If Jim Harbaugh and the quarterback-hungry Titans pass on Blaine Gabbert...

With the No. 8 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select QB Jake Locker

8:46: Damn it, I had Jake Locker here in a mock last week. Argh.

Oh, and let me copy-paste something I wrote earlier:

One team drafting in the top 12 will do something incredibly stupid. Last year it was Jacksonville. This year, I'm thinking Tennessee might be the guilty party. Hey, maybe there's a reason why the Colts win the AFC South every year.

Winner!

8:50: A quarterback slides every year. It's Blaine Gabbert's turn. Fortunately for him, so many teams need quarterbacks that he's probably not going to fall very far. I'll be shocked if he makes it past Minnesota.

8:51: A great comment below:

How can Gruden say Locker is a winner? What has Washington ever won?

8:52: I would say Blaine Gabbert is the anti-Vince Young; not Jake Locker. Gabbert scored a 40 on his Wonderlic. Young scored the square root of 40 on his Wonderlic.

With the No. 9 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select OT Tyron Smith

8:54: Second Roger Goodell name screw-up. He said Tyran Smith. That nervous breakdown must be getting to him.

8:55: Like Adam Schefter, Rick Gosselin is a God amongst men.

8:56: If I hear someone else ask, "Why did Tyron Smith play right tackle at USC?" I'm going to jump off my roof.

9:00: Ugh. I'm eating an apple, and I got a piece stuck in between my teeth. I used my fingers to pull it out, and now my keyboard is sticky. Yuck.

9:01: What the hell? Blaine Gabbert to the Jaguars? What if Jacksonville stinks next year and the regime is fired?

9:02: Didn't the Jaguars just sign David Garrard to an extension? Isn't Robert Quinn available?

With the No. 10 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select QB Blaine Gabbert

9:07: Some jerk on Twitter just posted, "This is why I don't understand why people do mock drafts."

Umm... because they're fun to write and enjoyable to read? I dunno.

9:08: I'd like to see what the Jaguars gave up. Why isn't ESPN telling us this?

With the No. 11 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select DE/DT J.J. Watt

9:09: I knew the Texans liked J.J. Watt, but I didn't think Aldon Smith would go before No. 11. This doesn't surprise me at all.

9:12: Lions fans: Prince Amukamara is still on the board. Just pointing that out.

9:14: The Vikings will trade down? That's fine. Just don't talk about Brett Favre, please, or my head might explode.

9:15: Why the hell would the Lions move back? Prince Amukamara is right there.

With the No. 12 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select QB Christian Ponder

9:17: WOWOOWOWOWOWOWOW.

9:18: Jesus. Christian Ponder would be a third-round prospect in a better draft. I'm not saying he's going to flop, but this is an Inspector Gadget-type reach, to quote the great Charley Casserly.

9:20: Screw you, Berman, for mentioning Brett Favre.

With the No. 13 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select DT Nick Fairley

9:22: This is like Matt Millen all over again, only with defensive tackles. What the hell?

9:26: A text from Awesome Kelly in Arizona: "Let me be the first to welcome the Vikings to the NFC North basement. Someone's gotta keep my Bears out, and I don't think it's the Lions anymore."

9:27: Hmm... I think Robert Quinn is the pick.

With the No. 14 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select DE Robert Quinn

9:31: Mark Ingram? Mike Pouncey?

9:32: Let's ruin Ingram's Draft Day by reminding him his dad's in prison. That's great, ESPN.

9:33: By the way, I just recalled that some dufus on ESPN earlier said today, "The Vikings will not reach for a quarterback." Whoops.

9:34: Who's that whispering sweet nothings into Ingram's ear? His "homophobe" lover?

9:35: Pouncey is on the phone. The pizza joint is calling to say that they'll be there in five minutes.

With the No. 15 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select G Mike Pouncey

9:38: This isn't a vote for Chad Henne, Kiper. It's an old regime afraid that it'll get fired if it has another poor season. Adam Schefter called it - no way Miami was taking a quarterback there.

9:40: There was just a Gus the Groundhog commercial on here. Click the link to see the worst commercials of all time.

9:41: The Redskins have to pick Cameron Jordan here, right?

9:42: Or Ryan Kerrigan!

With the No. 16 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select DE Ryan Kerrigan

9:48: Sorry, bathroom break. The Patriots pick is in? You mean they're not trading down? That's nuts.

9:49: Roger Goodell's not the one getting booed for a change. No more nervous breakdown!

With the No. 17 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select OT Nate Solder

9:53: Looks like Corey Liuget will be the pick. Like Mark Ingram, Liuget has weirdos whispering sweet nothings into his ear. There are certainly lots of homophobes in this draft.

9:54: Giants fans are happy. I'll be happy if Anthony Castonzo is the pick.

With the No. 18 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select DE/DT Corey Liuget

10:00: Sorry, my updates are slow. These strange picks are making me think hard about each grade.

10:01: Did you see that crazy black man with the red and blue paint on his face? Not someone I'd like to run into in a dark alley.

With the No. 19 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select CB Prince Amukamara

10:03: "In the night before the royal wedding, the Giants pick the Prince." -- Chris Berman.

What the hell? Weirdest Bermanism ever.

10:04: Is Prince Amukamara's mom holding a white frying pan in her hand?

10:05: The Rams and Giants are easily the mid first-round winners thus far. How does Prince Amukamara fall to 19?

10:06: And ESPN is playing the awesome NFL Primetime music in the Amukamara highlights. Doesn't get any better if you're a Giants fan.

10:09: Cam Jordan?

10:10: Huh? Adrian Clayborn over Cam Jordan? I know the Bucs love both of these guys, but I figured they liked Jordan more.

With the No. 20 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select DE Adrian Clayborn

10:15: My mom and my sister stopped by. My cousin had her birthday party at Red Lobster, so they brought me some food. I have fried shrimp, mashed potatoes and cheddar bay biscuits. NOM NOM NOM NOM.

10:17: The Browns are on the clock. They're not taking a quarterback, Gruden.

10:18: Oh man, the food smells so good. I can't concentrate.

10:19: Phil Taylor? Weh? Isn't nose tackle the only position the Browns don't need?

With the No. 21 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select DT Phil Taylor

10:21: Yay, Peyton Hillis beat QB Dog Killer, yay!

10:24: Can someone get WalterFootball.com a Gabe Carimi pick?

10:25: Upon seeing Roger Goodell whisper something into a prospect's ear, my sister said: "I bet that guy is telling the player, 'Just don't kill any dogs!'"

10:26: Damn it, it's Anthony Castonzo over Gabe Carimi. I did not think Castonzo would be available here.

With the No. 22 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select OT Anthony Castonzo

10:28: Weren't there commercials before the Colts pick? Why are there commercials now? Arrghghh.

10:30: @Brian_Bassett on Twitter: Brett Favre just texted Danny Watkins' girlfriend with some "bad intentions"

10:31: The Eagles pick is in, and they didn't have to trade up for Jimmy Smith. I could see Gabe Carimi and Muhammad Wilkerson here.

10:32: This is a nice military moment, though I suspect this is just a ploy by Roger Goodell to get the crowd to stop booing him.

With the No. 23 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select G Danny Watkins

10:34: Hey, Eagles fans. Danny Watkins will be 30 in his fourth season.

10:38: My friend Drew, an Eagles fan, just texted me, "I hate the f***ing Eagles I hope there is a f***ing lockout."

10:39: How is Cameron Jordan available for the Saints?

10:40: Cam Jordan, Da'Quan Bowers, Mark Ingram, Jimmy Smith are all available. Unbelievable.

With the No. 24 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select DE Cameron Jordan

10:46: I hate this McDonald's commercial where an ugly chick calls her boyfriend "Mr. Snuggles" and "chipmunk." If I had a girlfriend like that, I'd drown myself. I couldn't take it. I'd have a nervous breakdown like Roger Goodell.

10:47: Seattle's trying to trade down? That's not breaking news. Every team is trying to trade down.

10:49: I wonder whom the Seahawks would have taken at No. 7. Nick Fairley? Prince Amukamara? J.J. Watt?

With the No. 25 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select OT James Carpenter

10:51: Speaking of J.J. Watt... watt!?!?!?!?!?!?

10:56: Jimmy Smith? How'd the Eagles not take him?

10:57: Worst segue ever from Jon Gruden. Lockout to lock down. Fail.

10:59: Baltimore's time expired! The Ravens just pulled a Minnesota Vikings.

11:00: Ravens pass! Kansas City's pick is in. This is weird.

11:01: What the hell is Ozzie Newsome smoking? Trying very hard to avoid the Ryan Mallett joke.

With the No. 26 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select WR Jonathan Baldwin

With the No. 27 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select ???

11:07: What the hell is going on here? Baltimore's pick is in, but the Patriots traded the selection to...?

With the No. 27 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select CB Jimmy Smith

11:09: The Saints are on the clock. Mark Ingram will be the pick.

11:10: "I like watching these Colorado Buffaloes." -- Jon Gruden. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

11:11: The Patriots just got New Orleans' first-round pick next year. Bill Belichick does it again.

With the No. 28 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select RB Mark Ingram

11:17: That's an awesome moment. I'm pretty sorry I just gave the Saints a D for the pick.

11:19: Mark Ingram to win Offensive Rookie of the Year? He'll score a ton of touchdowns in that offense.

With the No. 29 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select OT Gabe Carimi

11:20: Why the hell are the Bears booing this pick? You don't want Bowers. He has a degenerative knee.

With the No. 30 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select DE/DT Muhammad Wilkerson

11:25: Why are the teams at the bottom of the first round making better picks than those in the 11-25 range?

With the No. 31 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select DE/DT Cameron Heyward

11:33: I just tried to tally how many picks Rick Gosselin nailed in his final 2011 NFL Mock Draft. I lost count. The man is a living legend.

11:37: Please, Packers, take your time.

With the No. 32 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select OT Derek Sherrod

11:38: Oh. My. God. The Packers just took a non-white offensive lineman. The world is coming to an end.

11:42: Amid all the mayhem, I forgot to post the Shannon Sharpe-Nick Fairley interview:

Shannon Sharpe: w8 rihoghw8ghwg u vorihgorhgoinsj meatball ba iwobrvdflj erpih shgf0 8qegwuHOH0O8HYA0HRO

Also, I'll have a Re-Mock of the second and third rounds posted on the site tomorrow morning.
