*** 2016 NFL MOCK DRAFT (4 rounds) updated Jan. 13. This mock draft will be updated each week. Check out old versions of this 2016 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***
  1. Tennessee Titans: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
Marcus Mariota took an absolute beating in his rookie campaign, suffering injuries on multiple occasions. The Titans have to do something about this; they cannot afford to have Mariota transform into David Carr.

In the wake of San Diego’s senseless victory over the Dolphins, Tennessee has won the Laremy Tunsil sweepstakes. With Tunsil on the roster, the Titans will have outstanding bookend tackles, allowing Jeremiah Poutasi to slide inside to guard, where he would probably be more comfortable. Barring a lucrative trade, there’s no way the Titans will pass on Tunsil if they have a chance to obtain him.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Cleveland Browns: Jared Goff, QB, California
A week ago, I thought the Browns would draft Joey Bosa. Things change quickly, however, and as we all learned, Johnny Manziel is having major personal issues, pretending to be someone named Billy in Vegas while drinking his life away. The Browns can’t go forward with a self-destructive alcoholic. New regimes mean new quarterbacks, anyhow, so Cleveland’s front office will want to obtain its own guy.

It’s close between Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch, but the former is currently the favorite following his dynamic bowl performance. There’s some concern with Goff because of the system he played in, but teams are so desperate for quarterbacks that players at this position naturally get pushed up.

  3. San Diego Chargers: Joey Bosa, DE/OLB, Ohio State
A tackle will be the popular mocked pick here, but with Laremy Tunsil off the board, the Chargers may feel that they can address the position in the second round. Besides, if they go best player available, I’m sure they’ll strongly consider Joey Bosa, who can help their lacking pass rush. Melvin Ingram, who hasn’t been able to stay healthy, is entering his contract year in 2016.

Charlie Campbell reported that Bosa is regarded by some as a 5-7 overall player; not a top prospect as many believe he is. You can read all about it in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill. However, the one caveat is that Bosa will probably rise in a weaker class, and I have to think the Chargers would love to grab him in an attempt to improve their underwhelming defense.

  4. Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Ramsey, S/CB, Florida State
Opinions are mixed on Jalen Ramsey. Some teams we’ve spoken to believe he’s great and happens to be worthy of a top-10 pick. Others, not so much. In fact, one organization, which has drafted very well, has him as a second-round prospect.

I suspect Jerry Jones may want a Florida State corner, especially considering the team’s glaring issues in the secondary. Ramsey would look great across from Orlando Scandrick.

Pick change; previously Laquon Treadwell, WR

  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
General manager David Caldwell might be pretty stubborn, but even he has to recognize that his team needs major help up front. The Jaguars surrendered the third-most sacks in the NFL, and Luke Joeckel is a huge liability. Even moving him around might help.

Pick change; previously Jalen Ramsey, S

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
I’m not sure if Ozzie Newsome would go back-to-back wide receivers, but it certainly makes sense. Breshad Perriman didn’t even play last year, while Steve Smith is going to try to return from a torn Achilles. There are nothing but question marks in Baltimore’s receiving corps, so I could see the Ravens pulling the trigger on Laquon Treadwell, considering that he’s probably the top prospect available at this juncture.

Pick change; previously A’Shawn Robinson, DE/DT

  7. San Francisco 49ers: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
I shied away from the 49ers taking a quarterback a couple of weeks ago after seeing Blaine Gabbert put together some quality performances. Gabbert, unfortunately, looked like an abomination in an embarrassing losses to Cleveland and Cincinnati. Inept owner Jed York won’t be able to sell his fans of another year of Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick, so he’ll green light the front office selecting a quarterback in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

It’s sounding like Paxton Lynch could be the top quarterback in this class, as he has the most upside. It’s close between him and Jared Goff though, as neither is anywhere close to a can’t-miss prospect. However, both should be chosen in the top 15, given how quarterback-starved most of the NFL is.

  8. Miami Dolphins: Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
The Dolphins have issues on every level of their defense, and the best player on the board who can help their stop unit is Myles Jack. The linebacking corps is in need of an upgrade. Jelani Jenkins is the only linebacker they have who’s not terrible in coverage, and he’s just OK.

And yes, Jack is still a first-rounder and a likely top-10 prospect. Jack injured his knee, yet he’s still in play to go this high. Todd Gurley was chosen No. 10 overall despite his knee injury, and Jack got hurt so early that he’ll be ready for the 2016 NFL season opener.

  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State
Gerald McCoy and Jacquies Smith were called the Buccaneers’ “top two pass-rushers” when they both missed a game during the middle of the season, which has to be discouraging to any Tampa backer. Smith is a marginal talent who definitely needs to be upgraded. Acquiring more pass-rushers makes sense in a division comprised of Cam Newton, Drew Brees and Matt Ryan.

  10. New York Giants: Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
The Giants might be saying goodbye to Prince Amukamara this offseason. He’s a free agent, and New York may deem him too injury-prone to re-sign. If so, the Giants could consider Vernon Hargreaves as a potential replacement. Hargreaves’ stock has slipped a bit in the wake of a poor finish, but he’s one of the top prospects on the board.

Pick change; previously DeForest Buckner, DE

  11. Chicago Bears: A’Shawn Robinson, DE/DT, Alabama
The Bears need as much defensive help as possible as they continue to transition into their new 3-4 scheme. The defensive line is comprised of mediocre players, at best, so this is an area the front office will have to upgrade this offseason. A’Shawn Robinson would be a huge boost, as he could go as high as No. 6 to the Ravens.

Pick change; previously Ronnie Stanley, OT

  12. New Orleans Saints: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
We all know how bad New Orleans’ secondary is, but part of the problem is that the team isn’t getting any sort of push up front. It’s especially dire at defensive tackle, where 80-year-old Kevin Williams is the team’s best player. Something absolutely needs to be done about that.

  13. Philadelphia Eagles: DeForest Buckner, DE/DT, Oregon
Yes, I know Chip Kelly is no longer coaching the team. However, another Oregon Duck could be in play at this juncture, as DeForest Buckner is one of the top prospects remaining on the board. The Eagles currently have an outstanding defensive line, but Vinny Curry and Cedric Thornton are impending free agents. It’ll be difficult to keep the two of them, so if one (or both) leaves, Philadelphia could pull the trigger on Buckner.

Pick change; previously Vernon Hargreaves, CB

  14. Oakland Raiders: Leonard Floyd, DE/OLB, Georgia
The Raiders were getting decent play out of Aldon Smith, but he’s been suspended for an entire season. Trusting him for the long term is probably not a good idea, so they could have interest in Leonard Floyd, the top player on the board, as a replacement.

  15. Los Angeles Rams: Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
The Los Angeles Rams – it feels weird to type that again – are moving back to their previous home, so given that, it would make sense for them to draft a quarterback to generate even more hype. Besides, it’s not like they don’t need a signal-caller; Case Keenum was just fine at the end of last season, but is he going to sell tickets? I don’t think so.

Carson Wentz’s stock has been surging, and I think he has overtaken Connor Cook at the moment. Wentz showed well in the 1-AA championship, while Cook has done nothing but destroy his draft stock.

Pick change; previously Connor Cook, QB

  16. Detroit Lions: Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State
There’s no question that upgrading the offensive line has to be a priority for Detroit this upcoming offseason, and the front office can start by finding an upgrade across from Riley Reiff.
