  1. Oakland Raiders: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Eric Fisher, OT

The Raiders are terrible for many reasons, one of which is their inability to put pressure on the quarterback. Only the Jaguars finished with fewer sacks this past season.

Jadeveon Clowney is the obvious pick with the two quarterbacks off the board. Left end Lamarr Houston will be a free agent after this upcoming season, and he could prove to be too expensive for the cap-strapped Raiders. Also, Clowney is the best player available by a wide margin. Oakland simply cannot pass on him.

Some may argue quarterback over Clowney, but the Raiders may address that position elsewhere. Josh Freeman will be a free agent, so he may go to Oakland to be reunited with Greg Olson, his former offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay.

  2. New York Jets: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB and Tavon Austin, WR

The Jets have to keep Mark Sanchez on the roster next season because cutting him would result in a $17.1 million cap hit. Giving Sanchez such a contract was a fireable offense, so it’s no surprise that the Jets now have a new general manager.

Fortunately, New York can get out of Sanchez’s nightmare deal following the 2013 campaign, and its fans can finally move on to a real quarterback. Maybe Fireman Ed will even return.

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Dion Jordan, DE/OLB

Anyone who thinks Johnny Manziel is too small to be chosen in the top five is completely mistaken. Manziel currently stands at 6-foot-1, 200. That’s taller than Drew Brees and Russell Wilson. Robert Griffin (6-2, 220) is pretty much the same size as Manziel will be following next season. Manziel also boasts a very good arm and great accuracy. There’s no reason why he can’t be a top-five selection if he continues to play as he did in his Heisman campaign.

You know a team’s quarterback situation is dire when Chad Henne represents some hope. Making matters worse, new general manager David Caldwell believes in building around Blaine Gabbert. That’s an embarrassing statement, as Caldwell clearly hasn’t watched much tape on Gabbert. He’s about to find out how terrible and cowardly he is. Jacksonville isn’t going anywhere until it addresses the quarterback position. he option is there.

  4. Tennessee Titans: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Jonathan Cooper, G

It’s no surprise that Jake Matthews returned to school, given that his father, Hall-of-Famer Bruce Matthews, wanted his son to earn his degree. Plus, it’s not like Jake needed the money.

The Titans are fine at offensive tackle right now, but Michael Roos and David Stewart will be free agents in 2015 and 2014, respectively (the latter has a voidable year after this upcoming season). They’ll need to retool at the position if they don’t re-sign either of the two.

  5. San Diego Chargers: Marqise Lee, WR, USC
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): D.J. Fluker, OT

The Chargers found something in Danario Alexander last season. Being fully healthy for the first time, he played extremely well down the stretch. However, the Chargers slapped him with an original-pick tender this spring, indicating that they don’t value him much. His contract expires in March 2014, so if they let him walk in free agency, they’ll be searching for a new top wideout for Philip Rivers.

Marqise Lee has enjoyed a terrific 2012 campaign and is currently projected to be a top-10 pick despite the recent USC wideout failures.

  6. Arizona Cardinals: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Star Lotulelei, DE/DT

The poor Cardinals missed out on Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher in my 2013 NFL Mock Draft. They could take Lane Johnson, but he wasn’t available in my 2013 NFL Mock Draft. Thus, they may have to wait until 2014 to land an elite lineman.

  7. Buffalo Bills: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Ryan Nassib, QB

Rotoworld recently slotted Tyler Eifert to the Bills at No. 8 in their 2013 NFL Mock Draft. It would not surprise me to see the Bills do something like that. However, I feel like this selection is more likely.

It’s not usual to see a tight end go this high, but Austin Seferian-Jenkins is an absolute stud. He’ll be a matchup nightmare, much like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham. It’s worth noting that Seferian-Jenkins was arrested for a DUI on March 9, but that was just one incident. I don’t think it’ll have too much of an impact on his draft stock if he appears remorseful.

  8. Kansas City Chiefs: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Luke Joeckel, OT

Alex Smith probably won’t perform well in 2013, but Andy Reid is a stubborn guy, so he may blame Smith’s predictable struggles on a lacking receiving corps. The Chiefs have Dwayne Bowe, and that’s pretty much it. They signed Donnie Avery, but they’re about to find out how inefficient of a wideout he really is.

  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: David Fales, QB, San Jose State
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): None

This pick may seem odd at first glance, but Josh Freeman is set to become a free agent next spring. Freeman was absolutely terrible down the stretch in 2012, so if he struggles yet again, the Buccaneers may move on to a new signal-caller.

This class is rich in quarterback prospects, which includes David Fales, who is coming off a tremendous season for San Jose State.

  10. Philadelphia Eagles: Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Lane Johnson, OT

I have the Eagles picking E.J. Manuel in the second round of my 2013 NFL Mock Draft, but factoring in two rounds’ worth of selections a year in advance would be way too complicated. The bottom line is that the quarterback position is Philadelphia’s greatest need – something that will be even more prevalent next spring once the current signal-caller is dumped after another season of countless turnovers.

It’s early, but Tajh Boyd will likely garner top-15 consideration – especially from a team like the Eagles. Boyd would be a perfect fit in Chip Kelly’s offense. The 6-foot-1 Clemson product is not just a runner; he completed 67.2 percent of his passes last year while maintaining a 9.1 YPA and a 36-to-13 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

  11. Cleveland Browns: Anthony Barr, DE/OLB, UCLA
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Geno Smith, QB

The Browns signed Paul Kruger to a big deal in free agency to start across from Jabaal Sheard. But what if Sheard doesn’t transition well to the 3-4? Michael Lombardi might consider a pass-rusher regardless, given how much he loves having an ample supply of them.

A former running back, Barr played defense for the first time this past season and made an instant impact, recording 13 sacks. The sky’s the limit for him, as he’ll only get better at his new position.

  12. Detroit Lions: Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB

When’s the last time the Lions haven’t had issues at cornerback? It seems like eons. They could perhaps fix that here if Bullet Bill Bentley doesn’t prove himself to be a capable starter across from Chris Houston.

Roby considered declaring for the 2013 NFL Draft. If he had, he’d be probably be the second corner off the board. He had a ridiculous 17 pass break-ups as a redshirt sophomore.

  13. Dallas Cowboys: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Chance Warmack, G

There’s a chance Doug Free will be released this year. If not, he’s definitely gone next season if his play doesn’t improve. The Cowboys have to protect Tony Romo or whomever their quarterback will be beginning in 2014.

Taylor Lewan would probably be the consensus favorite to go in the 2013 NFL Draft. However, a year is a long time and a lot can happen. He took an enormous risk with virutally no upside by deciding to return to Michigan.

  14. Baltimore Ravens: Stephon Tuitt, DT, Notre Dame
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Matt Elam, S

I slotted the Ravens here in my power rankings before they signed Elvis Dumervil and Michael Huff. I guess I should have had more faith in Ozzie Newsome.

Newsome signed Chris Canty and Marcus Spears this offseason, but there’s no guarantee both of them will hold up, given that they’re both 30. Also, Arthur Jones is set to hit free agency next March, so Baltimore could be looking for some more defensive line help.

  15. Carolina Panthers: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Sharrif Floyd, DT

The Panthers need tons of cornerback help. Chris Gamble was cut, so the Panthers are in obvious need of a new No. 1 cornerback.

    Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, a third-team All-American, intercepted four passes and had 16 pass break-ups as a sophomore.

  16. Indianapolis Colts: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/25): Xavier Rhodes, CB

Indianapolis’ defense is a mess. It needs help on every level, so it might as well start in the front seven with the best player available. The pass rush must be upgraded – even if Tank Carradine is selected in the 2013 NFL Draft. Robert Mathis will be 33 in February, so he could be released if his play drops off, given that he’ll be due a $2 million roster bonus at that juncture.

Kyle Van Noy logged 13 sacks in 2012. He was espcially hot down the stretch, recording 5.5 sacks in his final three games.
