  1. Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 215.
    40 Time: 4.63.
    Projected Round (2013): Top-20 Pick.

4/24/13: There were a ton of teams that have shown interest in Vaccaro. He could go just outside the top 10 as there are a lot of teams that need safety help picking in the teens.

Vaccaro was very good in 2012. He was a tough run-defender who covered a lot of ground in pass defense. The senior recorded 92 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, five passes defensed, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Vaccaro stepped up with a good game against West Virginia’s high-powered offense. He had 11 tackles with a tackle for a loss and wasn’t overmatched with the Mountaineers’ speed receivers. Vaccaro helped himself with a good tape from that outing. He also had impressive games against Kansas State and TCU.

Scouts were disappointed Vaccaro passed on the Senior Bowl, but it wasn’t surprising since his stock has been rising. Vaccaro did not put up a fast 40 time at the Combine but did well in the field drills. He was unable to run at his pro day because of a pulled muscle.

9/2/12: Vaccaro is another underrated player who doesn’t receive the hype of some other safety prospects. He had 67 tackles with 6.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, seven passes broken up and two interceptions as a junior in 2011. Vaccaro has good instincts and range. He was an All-Big XII First-Team pick.

It was Vaccaro’s first full season as a starter, and he could be even better in 2012 after gaining a year of experience. He started six games in 2010 recording 56 tackles with one interception, eight passes broken up and one forced fumble.

Vaccaro is also a good special teams player. He will see a lot of pass-happy offenses in the Big XII.

  2. Jonathan Cyprien, S, Florida International
    Height: 6-0. Weight: 209. Arm: 30 1/2. Hand: 10 1/8.
    40 Time: 4.56.
    Projected Round (2013): 1-2.

4/24/13: Cyprien is one of those small-school players who really helped himself at the Senior Bowl. He made his presence felt all week. Cyprien was a tough defender who was hitting hard in the ground game. He also really impressed with his pass coverage by demonstrating the ability to run with receivers and cover tight ends. The passing-driven NFL is looking for safeties with that skill set.

The senior led his team with 93 tackles in 2012. He also contributed four interceptions, five passes broken up and one forced fumble. There is a lot to like about Cyprien, and it looks like he is on the bubble for the first round. Cyprien had good performances at the Combine and his pro day.

  3. Matt Elam*, S, Florida
    Height: 5-10. Weight: 208.
    40 Time: 4.54.
    Projected Round (2013): 1-2.

4/24/13: There is a lot of upside with Elam. He is a play-maker with excellent instincts. Elam had 76 tackles, four interceptions, two sacks, nine tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and five passes broken up in 2012. He was excellent in run defense, pass defense and laying out some massive hits.

Elam was clutch for the Gators throughout the year, but had a coming out party against LSU. He picked up seven tackles, a forced fumble that turned the game for Florida, and took away a long pass play inside the Gators’ 30-yard line.

Elam had some big plays to prevent some possible touchdowns against Texas A&M. He was huge against Tennessee with 10 tackles, one sack, one pass break up and an interception. The junior also performed well versus Georgia, Missouri, Florida State and Louisville.

Elam had a good performance at the Combine, including a nice 40 time. Sources told WalterFootball.com that Elam looked good at his pro day. The biggest knock on him with NFL teams is his height. Sources believe big receivers and tight ends will be able to make catches over him. Some teams gave Elam a second-round grade.

9/2/12: Elam is an underrated college football player. When watching Florida, he really stands out as a big-time presence who is all over the field. Elam was the top recruit in the state of Florida coming out of high school, and he has been validating that standing through his tenure as a Gator.

Elam earned his first playing time as a true freshman and earned even more as the year progressed. Eventually, he started in place of disappointing junior Will Hill. Elam recorded 22 tackles in 2010 with a sack and a pass broken up. He improved last season and was the best player on Florida’s defense. He recorded 78 tackles with 11 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, seven passes broken up and two forced fumbles.

Elam is a fast, instinctive playmaker defending the pass in the deep part of the field. He also operates well near the line of scrimmage and is a physical run-defender. Elam has a high ceiling and could turn into a highly-touted prospect in 2013 or 2014.

  4. Eric Reid*, S, LSU
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 212.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.53.
    Projected Round (2013): 1-2.

4/24/13: There are some scouts who really like Reid and others who don’t want anything to do with him. The ones who like Reid point to his size, speed, length and hitting ability. The ones who don’t like Reid point to him getting burned consistently in pass coverage.

Reid had an inconsistent 2012 that hurt his draft stock. He seemed to miss Tyrann Mathieu, Morris Claiborne and Brandon Taylor. Reid’s splash plays were down, and he didn’t have as large a presence. Reid especially needs to improve his pass-coverage skills for the NFL. He was burned through the air throughout 2012. Reid probably should’ve gone back to school to improve before going pro.

The junior started this season with a mixed outing against North Texas. He had seven tackles, an interception and a pass broken up, but also was burned for two touchdowns. Reid struggled in run support versus Florida and took some bad angles with weak tackling attempts. He played better against South Carolina and Texas A&M with a mixed outing against Alabama. Reid again was beaten for big passing plays in LSU’s bowl game with Clemson. He totaled 91 tackles, two interceptions and seven passes broken up in 2012.

Reid displayed some nice speed and athleticism at the Combine and his pro day.

9/2/12: Reid had a breakout 2011 season. He was part of phenomenal secondary with safety Brandon Taylor and cornerbacks Morris Claiborne and Tyrann Mathieu. Mathieu and Reid tied for the team lead with 76 tackles each. Reid also had two interceptions, two tackles for a loss, three passes broken up and two forced fumbles. He was a Second-Team All-SEC pick in 2011.

Reid stepped up and played his best football against the best competition. He had a huge game in the first contest against Alabama and was the SEC Defensive Player of the Week as he recorded six tackles with an interception and forced fumble. The sophomore had 11 tackles in the rematch.

Reid had 32 tackles and two interceptions as a freshman. He is a good athlete and instinctive. Additionally, Reid has good size and is a hard hitter. His job won’t be easier in 2012 as Taylor and Claiborne have moved on to the NFL with Mathieu getting kicked off the team. Other safeties have been exposed in similar situations, but Reid has the talent to step up.

  5. D.J. Swearinger, S, South Carolina
    Height: 5-11. Weight: 208.
    40 Time: 4.67.
    Projected Round (2013): 2-3.

4/24/13: Swearinger was a solid contributor for South Carolina in 2012. He had 79 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and seven passes broken up as a senior. Swearinger is an extremely hard hitter who plays with a chip on his shoulder. There are some who feel he is one of the top value safeties in the class. Sources with multiple teams have said they really like Swearinger, so his stock is on the upswing.

9/2/12: Swearinger is a sleeper safety prospect to keep an eye on. He was a solid player for the Gamecocks last year and formed a nice duo with Antonio Allen. Swearinger started 13 games and could’ve produced more if it weren’t for a nagging foot injury. He totaled 80 tackles with three interceptions. The junior was second to Allen in tackles (88). Swearinger started eight games in 2010 and had 66 tackles with one interception and one forced fumble.

Swearinger has a nice combination of speed and instincts. He could be a nice free safety prospect for the mid-rounds who could move higher with a strong senior season.

  6. Phillip Thomas, S, Fresno State
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 208. Arm: 30 1/4. Hand: 9 1/4.
    40 Time: 4.65.
    Projected Round (2013): 2-3.

4/24/13: Thomas led the nation with eight interceptions in 2012. He had three picks against Colorado, returning two of them for touchdowns. Thomas also recorded 82 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, four passes broken up and four forced fumbles. He really put himself on the map with his big plays and made up for lost time.

Thomas played well at the Senior Bowl, which helped his draft standing, but he was underwhelming at the Combine. He ran better at his pro day with a 40 time of 4.53 seconds. Thomas took a medical redshirt in 2011 and missed the entire season after breaking a leg and dislocating an ankle three days before the first game. He had 64 tackles and three interceptions in 2010.

  7. Earl Wolff, S, N.C. State
    Height: 6-0. Weight: 207.
    40 Time: 4.44.
    Projected Round (2013): 2-3.

4/24/13: Wolff has worked his way into being a second-day prospect on the merits of a strong postseason. Wolff was another standout of the East-West Shrine. He made his presence felt throughout the week, including a couple interceptions in one practice. The senior totaled 119 tackles with seven passes broken up, one forced fumble and two interceptions in 2012. He had 105 tackles with three forced fumbles and three interceptions in 2011.

Wolff has good instincts and run defense. He demonstrated some additional potential during the Combine with a great 40-yard dash.

  8. Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse
    Height: 5-8. Weight: 213.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.42.
    Projected Round (2013): 2-4.

4/24/13: Thomas helped his draft stock with a strong week at the East-West Shrine. He was very physical with running backs and receivers downfield. Thomas showed nice hitting ability to go along with an aggressive style of play. The senior totaled 88 tackles, three forced fumbles and two interceptions this year.

Thomas was excellent at the Combine. He put up one of the fastest 40s for any safety prospect. Thomas did well in the other field work and bench press, too. He really stood out and continued his strong postseason.

Thomas had good tackle totals as a freshman, sophomore and junior, but didn’t record any interceptions and only had five passes broken up over those three seasons. He needs to work on his pass coverage, but has some developmental potential. Thomas’ height is a big concern as receivers will have an advantage over him.

  9. Bacarri Rambo, S, Georgia
    Height: 6-0. Weight: 218. Arm: 30 1/2. Hand: 9 1/8.
    40 Time: 4.56.
    Projected Round (2013): 2-4.

4/24/13: Rambo was suspended for the first four games of the 2012 season. He was excellent for Georgia after coming back, totaling 76 tackles, three interceptions, one sack and three forced fumbles in his nine games. Rambo had an impressive outing against Florida with a sack and interception. He played well against Georgia Tech and Alabama.

Off-the-field issues knock Rambo down, so the earliest he could go is on Day 2. Rambo was solid at the Senior Bowl, but did not participate in the Combine field work. Scouts have told WalterFootball.com that not being very fast or athletic hurts Rambo’s ranking among the safeties.

9/2/12: Rambo has first-round talent, but has been his own worst enemy. He will start 2012 with a four-game suspension by Georgia for violating team rules regarding drug usage. The off-the-field concerns have been a big detriment to Rambo’s draft stock, and it is hard to predict how heavily they will be weighed against him by NFL teams.

Rambo had an excellent season last year and was one of the nation’s leaders in interceptions with seven. The junior also had 52 tackles with seven passes broken up. Rambo is a physical player with good instincts. He has the speed to fly around the field and get in position to make plays.

If you watched Georgia in 2010, it was hard not to notice Rambo as a sophomore. The instinctive safety always found his way to the ball and was a play-maker. He totaled 82 tackles with three interceptions, three passes broken up and three forced fumbles. Rambo is a talented player who should be a starter in the NFL.

  10. J.J. Wilcox, S, Georgia Southern
    Height: 6-0. Weight: 213. Arm: 30 1/2. Hand: 8 7/8.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
    Projected Round (2013): 3-4.

4/24/13: Wilcox is a good athlete who also contributed as a runner, receiver and kick returner for Georgia Southern. He finished his career at safety and recorded 88 tackles with three passes broken up and two interceptions as a senior. Some feel that Wilcox has the speed and athleticism of a cornerback. He averaged 24 yards per kick return in college. Sources told WalterFootball.com that Wilcox didn’t work out well at his pro day.

A strong performance at the Senior Bowl really helped Wilcox’s draft status. He showed the ability to play man coverage and really competed well with the talent from the big schools.

  11. Duke Williams, S, Nevada
    Height: 5-11. Weight: 201. Arm: 30. Hand: 9 5/8
    Projected 40 Time: 4.56.
    Projected Round (2013): 3-4.

4/24/13: A lot of teams have shown interest in Williams. He played well in 2012, totaling 106 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, eight passes broken up and three forced fumbles. Oddly enough, Williams struggled at the East-West Shrine, but he rebounded to have a good week at the Senior Bowl.

Williams had 83 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, six passes broken up and one interception in 2011. He totaled 74 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, four passes broken up, two forced fumbles and two interceptions as a sophomore.

  12. Josh Evans, S, Florida
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 207.
    40 Time: 4.58.
    Projected Round (2013): 3-5.

4/24/13: Evans was solid for Florida in 2012 and led the team in tackles with 83. He also totaled three passes broken up, 2.5 sacks and three interceptions. Evans was a good run-defender and did well in pass coverage. He had 51 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, one pass breakup and one interception in 2011.

Evans was one of the top safeties at the East-West Shrine and consistently made his presence felt. He held his own at the Combine, too. WalterFootball.com has heard from scouts who really like Evans and feel he is a really good value pick.

  13. Shawn Williams, S, Georgia
    Height: 6-0. Weight: 213. Arm: 30. Hand: 8 1/4.
    40 Time: 4.46.
    Projected Round (2013): 3-5.

4/24/13: Williams recorded 98 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and four passes broken up in 2012. He was a solid defender for Georgia in run and pass defense, but didn’t produce any splash plays. Part of that is because Williams is not very instinctive. He was unimpressive in the SEC Championship loss to Alabama.

Williams surprised at the Combine with one of the fastest 40 times of any safety. He is more of an in-line safety and could be a solid mid-round pick.

9/2/12: Williams is a tough, physical safety that also has some quickness and ball skills. He broke into the starting lineup as a junior in 2011. He led the team with 72 tackles while also recording four interceptions, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and six passes broken up.

  14. T.J. McDonald, S, USC
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 219. Arm: 32 1/4. Hand: 8 7/8.
    40 Time: 4.59.
    Projected Round (2013): 3-5.

4/24/13: McDonald notched 112 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, three passes broken up and two interceptions in 2012. He was a physical enforcer for the Trojans’ defense. McDonald had impressive days against Stanford and Utah, but struggled versus Oregon. He put on a quality showing at the Senior Bowl. McDonald was okay at the Combine. He looks like a straight-line safety for the NFL.

9/2/12: T.J. McDonald broke into the lineup in 2010 and had a strong debut. The sophomore led USC in tackles with 89 including three tackles for a loss, four passes broken up, three interceptions and a blocked punt. McDonald was an All-Pac-10 Second-Team selection. The junior had 67 tackles with three picks, two passes broken up and a blocked kick last season.

McDonald has the flexibility to play strong or free safety. He has good instincts and is a hard hitter, too. If the senior has another good season, he could be a first-round pick. McDonald would immediately fit well in any NFL zone scheme since he been coached up by Monte Kiffin on the scheme he ran in Tampa Bay for many years.

  15. Robert Lester, S, Alabama
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 220. Arm: 31 1/4. Hand: 9 3/4.
    40 Time: 4.66.
    Projected Round (2013): 4-6.

4/24/13: Lester was quiet in the early going of 2012, but played better later in the season. He picked up 48 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, three passes broken up and four interceptions for the year. Lester had good games against Tennessee and Mississippi State with some struggles against LSU and Texas A&M. He didn’t impress at the Senior Bowl or Combine, and his stock has fallen.

9/2/12: Lester had a breakout year in 2010. He was second in the nation with eight interceptions in his first season as a starter. Lester also chipped in 52 tackles with one sack and four passes broken up. He totaled 36 tackles with three passes broken up, one forced fumble, one blocked kick and two interceptions last season and was close on a lot of other potential interceptions.

With Lester’s coverage and interceptions not as strong as they were in 2010, his stock has fallen from the first round. Still, he is a good overall safety who defends the deep part of the field well. Lester also has more ballhawking skills than most safety prospects and will have three years of starting experience entering the NFL. If the senior has a big 2012 season, he could move back into the first-round, much like former teammate Mark Barron.

  16. Tony Jefferson*, S, Oklahoma
    Height: 5-11. Weight: 213.
    40 Time: 4.75.
    Projected Round (2013): 4-6.

4/24/13: Jefferson totaled 119 tackles, two interceptions and three passes broken up in 2012. He was one of the few Sooners who came to play against Kansas State. Jefferson had 14 tackles with a tackle for a loss versus the Wildcats. The junior was excellent at making tackles on perimeter runs at the line of scrimmage even though he was lining up 10 yards off the line of scrimmage.

Jefferson had excellent games against Notre Dame and Iowa State to lead the Sooners’ defense. He also performed well in Oklahoma’s other outings including UTEP and Texas Tech. On the other hand, Jefferson had disappointing performances against West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.

WalterFootball.com has heard that scouts were getting bad feedback regarding Jefferson’s work ethic in the weight room and on the practice field. He had a disappointing Combine with a slow 40 time and one of the lower totals on the bench press for a safety. Jefferson didn’t run at his pro day.

9/2/12: Jefferson has been a play-maker and leader of the Sooners’ defense since he arrived in Norman. Jefferson was the Big XII Freshman of the Year in 2010. He started nine games and recorded 65 tackles with seven tackles for a loss, two sacks, two interceptions and seven passes broken up.

Jefferson was even better last year. The sophomore had 74 tackles with four interceptions, 4.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for a loss, three passes broken up and one forced fumble.

Jefferson is an excellent pass-defender who covers a lot of ground in the deep part of the field. He does a good job of picking up receivers running deep and has the athletic ability to play man coverage on tight ends.

Jefferson is solid in run support. The athletic and instinctive safety has a high ceiling and could be in store for another big season or two for the Sooners. Jefferson is a difference-maker and a regular generator of splash plays. He has added some bulk this offseason and that should appeal to NFL evaluators.

  17. Cooper Taylor, S, Richmond
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 235.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.69.
    Projected Round (2013): 5-7.

4/24/13: Taylor was one of the standouts of the East-West Shrine. He did well in pass defense and defending the run. The senior totaled 77 tackles with five tackles for a loss, nine passes broken up, three forced fumbles and four interceptions in 2012.

Taylor didn’t play much in college, but he has some developmental potential for the NFL. Taylor is also a candidate to move to linebacker.

  18. Zeke Motta, S, Notre Dame
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 215.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
    Projected Round (2013): 5-7.

4/24/13: Motta was a solid player for the Fighting Irish in 2012. The year didn’t end well as he had an ugly game against Alabama in the National Championship Game.

The postseason hasn’t really been any better. Motta had a mixed performance at the East-West Shrine and ran the slowest 40 time of any safety at the Combine. For the NFL, he looks like a backup safety and a special teams contributor. Motta lacks ball skills and play-making ability. He is best in run support near the line of scrimmage.

The senior had 77 tackles with three passes broken up, zero forced fumbles and zero interceptions this year. He collected 40 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble as a junior. Motta broke into the starting lineup as a sophomore and recorded 50 tackles. He had one interception and two passes broken up, too.

  19. Brandan Bishop, S, N.C. State
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
    Projected Round (2013): 6-7.

4/24/13: Bishop was one of the few defensive backs who played well for the Wolfpack against Tennessee to open the season. He had nine tackles and a forced fumble. Bishop added another five tackles, an interception and forced fumble against Connecticut. He totaled 103 tackles, two forced fumbles, seven passes broken up and three interceptions in 2012. Bishop had a quality week at the East-West Shrine, but did not participate in the Combine.

9/2/12: It is hard to get out of the shadow of teammate David Amerson, but Bishop has produced the past two years. The junior had an impressive season last year with 89 tackles, five interceptions and a forced fumble. He had four interceptions with 66 tackles as a sophomore.

Bishop has some natural ball skills with size and tackling ability. He is a sleeper prospect who could surprise and move up the rankings with a strong senior performance.

  20. DeVonte Holloman, S/OLB, South Carolina
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 241.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
    Projected Round (2013): 6-FA.

4/24/13: Holloman recorded 57 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, four passes broken up, two sacks and three picks in 2012. He had a big interception against Georgia. It is obvious that Holloman has to play linebacker in the NFL.

9/2/12: Holloman played strong safety the past two seasons, but he is too big to be a defensive back in the NFL. Holloman totaled 51 tackles with an interception and four passes broken up last season. He had 69 tackles in 10 starts at strong safety in 2010.

Holloman looks like a good special teams player for the NFL, but he will be a developmental project on defense.

  21. Rashard Hall, FS, Clemson
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 210.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
    Projected Round (2013): 6-FA.

4/24/13: Hall played well in the first game of the season against Auburn with an interception to help Clemson to get the win. He didn’t do as well against Florida State. Hall totaled 80 tackles with four interceptions, 3.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and three pass defensed in 2012.

9/2/12: Hall was inconsistent at times in 2011. He would flash on occasion and then fall quiet for stretches. The junior had 78 tackles with, one sack, one interception, one pass broken up and one forced fumble.

Hall had a significant drop in his production in 2010 after an impressive redshirt-freshman season. He had 62 tackles with two interceptions and two passes broken up as sophomore. However, Hall had six interceptions with 55 tackles and two passes broken up in 2009. The senior needs to improve his production if he wants to be more than a late-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

  22. Prentiss Waggner, CB/S, Tennessee
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 185.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
    Projected Round (2013): 6-FA.

4/24/13: Overall, Waggner played decently in 2012. He started strong against N.C. State and held his own versus Georgia. Waggner totaled 48 tackles, four passes broken up, one interception and one forced fumble. Waggner did not participate in the Combine.

9/1/12: Waggner has played both cornerback and safety for Tennessee. He totaled 48 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble and seven passes broken up last season. Waggner played safety for first six games but played cornerback for the final six. He will probably play corner as a senior.

Waggner had 57 tackles with five interceptions and three forced fumbles as a sophomore. He was selected as an All-SEC Second-Team pick for his 2010 season. Waggner played well as a center fielder in the Volunteers’ defense and displayed good instincts. He could be a corner/safety tweener for the NFL.

  23. Cody Davis, S, Texas Tech
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 202.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
    Projected Round (2013): 6-FA.

4/24/13: Davis had an impressive pro day performance to help garner attention. The senior totaled 101 tackles, three interceptions and seven passes defensed in 2012. He was a solid run defender the past four seasons with 93 tackles as a junior, 87 tackles as a sophomore and 81 tackles as a freshman. Davis could compete to be a backup and special teams contributor.

  24. Jarred Holley, S, Pittsburgh
    Height: 5-10. Weight: 190.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.57.
    Projected Round (2013): 7-FA.

4/24/13: Holley recorded 75 tackles, two interceptions and four passes broken up in 2012. He played well against Cincinnati and Virginia Tech.

9/2/12: Holley has had two decent seasons for Pittsburgh. He totaled 67 tackles with five tackles for a loss, two sacks, one interception and one forced fumble last year. Holley created more splash plays in 2010, making five interceptions and a forced fumble. He contributed 54 tackles as well.

Holley would fit best as rangy free safety-type defender.

  25. Javon Harris, S, Oklahoma
    Height: 5-11. Weight: 206.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
    Projected Round (2013): 7-FA.

4/24/13: Harris totaled 86 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, five passes broken up and six interceptions in 2012. One pick was returned 46 yards for a touchdown against Texas Tech. He is a sleeper prospect who could compete.

9/2/12: Harris started last season with a big game against Florida State, but he gave up some plays in conference play during 2011. The first-year starter had 47 tackles with three interceptions and two forced fumbles. Harris needs to make strides as a senior.

  26. Vaughn Telemaque, FS, Miami
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 211.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.59.
    Projected Round (2013): FA.

4/24/13: Telemaque had 20 tackles and a forced fumble in 2012. He did not play well against Kansas State in Week 2.

9/2/12: Ray Ray Armstrong received more publicity, but Telemaque is a pro prospect in his own right. He has a nice combination of size and speed. Telemaque totaled 58 tackles with seven passes broken up and three interceptions in 2010. He also forced a fumble and recovered three fumbles.

Telemaque didn’t play as well last season, nor did the junior stand out while Armstrong was suspended for five games. Telemaque had 59 tackles with one interception in 2011.

  27. Ohrian Johnson, S, Ohio State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 210.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.62.
    Projected Round (2013): FA.

4/24/13: Johnson collected 39 tackles, two interceptions, seven passes broken up and one blocked kick in 2012.

9/2/12: Johnson had 32 tackles with three interceptions last season. He had 50 tackles with an interception and two forced fumbles in 2010. Johnson has to force his way onto the field and produce in order to get drafted.

  28. Ray Ray Armstrong, S, Faulkner University
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 220.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.59.
    Projected Round (2013): FA.

4/24/13: Armstrong was ruled ineligible by the NAIA. He entered the 2013 NFL Draft having not played in 2012. Armstrong would be fortunate to land an undrafted free agent contract.

9/2/12: Armstrong left Miami after more off-the-field issues. Ending up at an NAIA school is going to hurt his stock tremendously. He was suspended for the first four games of the 2011 season and his presence was missed by Miami. Armstrong was suspended for an additional game after outing himself on Twitter for having dinner with a marketing representative. The junior had 34 tackles, an interception and two passes broken up in six games last year.

Armstrong was a Second-Team All-ACC selection in 2010 and recorded 79 tackles with three interceptions. He showed up well against the Hurricanes’ better opponents, with nine total tackles against both Ohio State and Florida State.

Armstrong is fast, big and athletic. He has tons of physical talent, but he has not translated that into a dominant on-field performance yet. If Armstrong lands with the right coaching staff, he could be a steal due to having a high ceiling. It was imperative that Armstrong stay out of trouble and productive as a senior to avoid the third day – that was as a Hurricane though. Since he wasn’t able to do that, it is difficult to project him going in the top 100.
