2011 NFL Draft Consensus Big Board
I thought it would be interesting to combine some of the prominent 2011 NFL Draft Big Boards to form one consensus big board.
Below are the average big board position of the top prospects in the 2011 NFL Draft. I looked at seven different big boards: Mel Kiper (ESPN), Todd McShay (ESPN), Rob Rang (CBS), Scott Wright (DraftCountdown.com), Tony Pauline (Sports Illustrated), Wes Bunting's (NFP) and Mike Mayock (NFL Network; just added).

This consensus big board would be much better without Bunting on it. He doesn't take position into account like all of the others. Walt, can you make this without Bunting.

Bunting does have a method to his "maddness" in the way he makes his board. and because that "board" is talent based not draft position based and the rating scale he uses has kinda makes me think he doesn't belong on the big board. Plus well all know bunting has a hard-on for skill positions like wide receivers. (1# A.J. Green, 2#Julio Jones, 7# Ingram,#12 Rudolph, 17# Baldwin) ectect. Not saying I disagree just that I question that he belongs based on how much his system can throw off the Consensus

Draftcountdown.com has been slacking the past 2 years...used to be my favorite site but now has very little to offer. Most of the top rated players on the site are still not rated and we're a month and a half away from the draft (which seems far but comparing it to other draft websites shows the lack of effort). Idk what has happened to Scott but he needs to step his game up.

Go read Bunting's breakdown for his Big Board and you'll see there is a method to his madness... It is a different perspective, but it makes some sense. Plus, doing a consensus big board, it is good to have an outlier.

Well if Buntings big board for the 2010 draft was in fact:
Sam Bradford Ndamekan Suh Devin McCourty Maurkice Pouncy? (just with the correct spelling) i think he pretty much nailed it. Bradford went on to become the offensive rookie of the year. Suh was awarded with the defensive rookie of the year award and both Pouncey and McCourty went to the pro bowl? A Big Board is not about where players will go in the draft it is about Pure Talent. That does not mean Pouncey should have went 4th in the draft. Simply because Centers positional value are not high enough. But he could still be the 4th best player if you ignore positional value which a true big board is all about..

Spurzo the packers are overrated! They didnt win the sb in a dominating way! pittsburgh had 3 turnovers n still had a chance to win the game at the end! The packers showed up to play that game n the steelets showed up too late... Packers won, simple as that....but the steelers are not on the decline....the nfls defensive mvp was hurt throughout the season n it showed in the sb...they have a bunch of young talent...seriously do some actual research before u try n give your dumb ass opinion!!! I agree bunting is kinda retarded.... By the way whos your team spurzo???

From an evaluation standpoint, overall, Bunting has the best grades of the group ( though Dareus and Fairley should be flipped ). From a mock standpoint, perhaps not so much. Sadly, mockers can't tell the difference between a grade and a draft position and worse yet, most mockers think they have a clue about football and get their panties in a wad when someone states the truth that they disagree with, such as Bowers not being a top flight player. No, Bunting needs to stay to give the Kipers & McShays of the world some sanity checks. Sorry if that doesn't match up with your pre-conceived notions.

Bunting's rankings seem horrible, this guy gets paid to write about football?? As for it making sense for a center to be ranked number 4, that is just ridiculous. A center isn't a valuable enough position to make it that high. That's why nobody ever drafts centers that early in a draft. Pouncey seems to have had a really good rookie season (not that I could ever tell or bother watching a center) but I love the pathetic steeler excuse. IF we had pouncey I strongly believe we blah blah blah, get over it you lost to a better team who were without their defensive leader for over half the game. You have a fat overrated qb who threw a terrible pick six and your team is on the decline. I wonder if Wes Bunting has ever watched football??
