2011 NFL Draft Consensus Big Board
I thought it would be interesting to combine some of the prominent 2011 NFL Draft Big Boards to form one consensus big board.
Below are the average big board position of the top prospects in the 2011 NFL Draft. I looked at seven different big boards: Mel Kiper (ESPN), Todd McShay (ESPN), Rob Rang (CBS), Scott Wright (DraftCountdown.com), Tony Pauline (Sports Illustrated), Wes Bunting's (NFP) and Mike Mayock (NFL Network; just added).

Mel Kiper couldn't find his ass if he had a search and rescue team, a flashlight, and a pair of bbq tongs.

Matt, are you going to update your big board before the draft? I'm interested in your opinion.

Bunting has a scale he goes by. Essentially, he ranks the BEST players in order, not where they "should" be drafted. You really think teams would have let Tom Brady go til round 6 if they knew he would be a Hall of Fame Quarterback? Would the Rams have drafted Jason Smith at 2 if they knew he would only be a right tackle? No. Bunting ranks them on how good they will be within the next 5-10 years. So, Hynoski & Havili will probably be a better player at his position than Newton, Gabbert or any of those scrub quarterbacks. Get off his nutz.

I sorta feel bad for Wes getting a bad rep through this as most of the people who read this site do it for more light hearted analysis and entertainment than true draft prospect evaluation; Bunting does more of the latter. His rating scale is based more on career expectancies than where he would take a player in a draft. It's an extremely interesting scale, but it is very different from a standard big board.

I mean seriously. GET RID OF BUNTING!! He has Gabbert 43rd and Henry Hynoski (FB) and Stanley Havili (FB) 24 and 30 respectively. I guess this explains the Oakland Raiders drafts over the past years. Wes Bunting = Al Davis.

I trust Wes Bunting over anyone else used in this consensus big board. I'm pretty sure all the poor opinions of him stem from just seeing this consensus big board and haven't actually taken a look at his scouting reports.

Brandon Harris over Prince Amukamara? Someone tell Wes Bunting that football is the sport with the oval ball, please, he seems very confused.

gabbydawg, you seriously support getting rid of a guy who says what really he thinks of the players and doesn't just ride the coattails of others?

Von Miller ahead of A.J. Green is a travesty. Two players in this class are elite: A.J. And Peterson, in that order. Seriously, Von Miller's one dimensional!!! Plus I don't see how you can trust an injury prone 230 lb. pass rusher but I guess I'm alone in that boat.
