The Chargers are easily going to win

Same sh!t, different season. The Chargers start slow, finish strong and get bounced from the playoffs like the never belonged there in the first place. So Walt, give us a hint: is the AFC West the worst division in the NFL?

Their defense was good though - third in the league in sacks. But yeah, not as good as the stats said.

Jake, their special teams sucked. That's also part of the reason their defense was ranked so high. Opposing teams always had great field position, so they didn't have to drive many yards on any drive for a score (and the rankings are calculated for yards).

I don't understand how they were top 5 overall in offense/defense and didn't make the playoffs, just no excuse, they will rebound this year. I'm curious to see how the run game will improve because I don't see much there, but the defense looks for sure. I like the acquisition of Takeo Spikes, good leadership

What happened last year?

As this division continues to become more competitive (THANK GOD!), The San Diego Chargers are running out of time to make the Playoffs count... I see Oakland and obviously Kansas City building teams in the coming years that will rival and surprise many. If Norv can't get it done this year, i think he will be kicked out and the Chargers organization will undergo some major changes in coaching and the way the team plays.

All in all, its great for the NFL.

Lemony Snicket will win the AFC West

Imo it's between the Chiefs against the Chargers.

KC has a running game, a good receiving corps, and an up and coming defense (or maybe one of the good ones already). Their weak link is probably Matt Cassel.

SD is kinda like the opposite. They're not that fixed yet with their running game but Ryan Matthews looks good with a few games last season. Their defense has lost it's ferocity back then when Merriman was scaring qb's and Larry English has been a bust so far. Their main strength is Philip Rivers. In a way, he's like Peyton Manning. He can definitely carry a team on his back. I saw him win games even when V-Jax wasn't playing.
