@Shane167
and his contract is setup to only be a 1 yr deal. they can cut him after this year and owe him nothing. its basically a stop gap while a rookie sits and learns this year.

It's reported that the Sendejo contract is heavily incentive laden with very little in guarantees. May not be nearly as bad as it first appears (and it does appear to be horrific). Basically a back-up plan if they can't get someone else, like Iloka or a good rookie Safety.

I'll argue against the claim that Flacco is a "good" QB. Go year by year by any stat or metric you want: QB rating, Y/A, QBR, etc. It doesn't matter, Flacco is definitely solid, but not anywhere close to spectacular.
One thing Flacco has been (outside of a fluke injury last season) is dependable, and that is worth something. As with Eli Manning, Flacco's being an average performer reliably elevates him to being above average, and DEFINITELY good enough to be a "franchise QB", as in "this guy is good enough that we don't need to look for someone better".
But make no mistake about it...Flacco is not "good", and no matter how you might spin his contract numbers, he is still overpaid for what he brings in terms of teams winning.

Walter must still be listening to all the haters of Joe Flacco to say his contract "murdered" the team. Despite the big contract he got, the Ravens have contended ever since.
2013: Missed the playoffs by 1 game, had a shot in week 17 to make it.
2014: Made it back to the playoffs, beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs in Pittsburgh. Loss by 4 points to the Patriots in the Divisional Round.
2015: Loss 9 games by single digits(3 of which involved bad calls by officials that negated 3 wins). Most competitive 5-11 team I have ever seen.

@Mike Except that the Ravens have continued to draft well over that period and
have a terrific front office. Why then have they taken a significant
step back (the "success" you describe is solid, but far less than
Baltimore's standard)? Because the roster is going through gradual
atrophy due to Flacco's contract. Just as Walt said.

@Dro @Walter You guys are way off. Flaccos cap numbers...
2013 - 6.8
2014 - 14.8
2015 - 14.5
How is that murderering them?
If yourr going to point a finger at someone for the Ravens' inability to spend in 2015, point it at Ray Rice (10m in dead money). Its really lazy to just point it at Flacco.
Walter, the Sendejo one is very tough at this point, i agree with your grade if he is starting for us, however I'm going to assume he isn't, we are likely re-signing him for depth and special teams, he is a good special teamer. Willing ot bet we either make a move at a fre agent safety, or draft someone like Karl Joseph in the second

If Punters grow on Trees.. Someone should plant a Punter Tree near Heinz Field... Except for a couple seasons of Gardocki, the Steelers haven't had a half-decent punter since the Colquitt brother's DAD was in Pittsburgh....
The CB the Titans picked up, Brice McCain, has played for LeBeau before and did well in the system. Having a veteran guy in camp to push the others and mentor them in the system is a good thing.

Yet Flacco's contract killed the Ravens. Yeah ok.
