By the way, the fourth-annual Walter/Joker Annual Challenge is on, as I'll be competing with the Joker's College Picks. We each pick five games and see who does the best each week.
Oregon at Arizona State Line: Oregon by 8. Thursday, 9:00 p.m.
As a disclaimer, don't go nuts with my college football picks. I'm much better at picking NFL games (at least I used to be); I'm just doing these upon request. Follow @walterfootball for updates.
I love this sort of situation. Oregon opened at -10.5 and the spread is now down to -8 even though everyone is betting on them. Arizona State is a good team that has a legitimate chance of winning. The crowd is going to be fired up.
College Football Pick: Arizona State +8 (2 Units) -- Incorrect; -$220
UNLV at Boise State Line: Boise State by 28. Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
This should be a blowout. I don't see UNLV being competitive with Boise State.
College Football Pick: Boise State -28 (1 Unit) -- Incorrect; -$110
Colorado at USC Line: USC by 40.5. Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
Yes, I'm laying the 40.5. Colorado is not a competitive football team. It nearly lost by 50 at Fresno State a few weeks ago. USC should win this easily.
College Football Pick: USC -40.5 (1 Unit) -- Correct; +$100
Kansas State at West Virginia Line: West Virginia by 3. Saturday, 7:00 p.m.
West Virginia lost and now no longer has a chance at the national title. They're going to be flat. Meanwhile, Kansas State has to feel disrespected as an underdog.
College Football Pick: Kansas State +3 (3 Units) -- Correct; +$300
San Diego State at Nevada Line: Nevada by 7. Saturday, 10:30 p.m.
San Diego State has been playing well, while Nevada has barely been scraping by against mediocre competition. The Aztecs could easily pull off a straight-up victory.
College Football Pick: San Diego State +7 (2 Units) -- Correct; +$200
No real objection to the Watkins pick for Cleveland in the 3rd, but if there is an olinemen there worthy of the pick it should be that. We need olinemen in a bad way. Also we are getting Desmond Bryant back and have Shelton, modern, and Nassib who is a promising prospect
Good mock draft. But as a life-long Raiders fan who watched every game I can tell you our LB corps was sufficient. The Media may not know names like Perry Riley Jr. or Ben Heeney but they played exceptionally well when called upon. An OLB to replace Malcolm Smith however would be a good idea. But I think we need a RB, one like D'onta Freeman or Dalvin Cook. Latavius is a poor RB who runs too upright and gives up at the end of runs. We can't always rely on Derek Carr to carry the team. Peppers is definitely an exceptional player but with Reggie Nelson, Karl Joseph, and of course, Khalil Mack, LB/S is not a pressing issue. Interior DL or RB.
What an exciting weekend of football that was and we're one step closer to the Super Bowl. Sadly, more teams have been set in their draft position after this weekend. Getting closer to the deadline to declare for the draft to help round out this draft class. As per usual please leave comments and reactions I always try to reply and give some feedback.
