By the way, the fourth-annual Walter/Joker Annual Challenge is on, as I'll be competing with the Joker's College Picks. We each pick five games and see who does the best each week.
UAB at Ohio State Line: Ohio State by 36.5. Saturday, 12:00 p.m.
As a disclaimer, don't go nuts with my college football picks. I'm much better at picking NFL games (at least I used to be); I'm just doing these upon request. Follow @walterfootball for updates.
Urban Meyer loves to run up the score against inferior competition. UAB is, without a doubt, inferior competition. I don't see how this one stays close.
College Football Pick: Ohio State -36.5 (2 Units) -- Incorrect; -$220
Wyoming at Idaho Line: Idaho by 2. Saturday, 5:00 p.m.
Idaho is coming off a tough loss, so I don't see it being fully up for Wyoming. The Vandals put way too much stock into that LSU game.
College Football Pick: Wyoming +2 (2 Units) -- Correct; +$200
Southern Alabama at Mississippi State Line: Mississippi State by 34. Saturday, 7:00 p.m.
This is another game in which the home favorite should take care of business. I don't see how Southern Alabama can be competitive with the Bulldogs.
College Football Pick: Mississippi State -34 (2 Units) -- Incorrect; -$220
San Jose State at San Diego State Line: San Diego State by 3. Saturday, 8:00 p.m.
The wrong team is favored. San Jose State nearly upset Stanford in the opener and then demolished two other teams after that.
College Football Pick: San Jose State +3 (3 Units) -- Correct; +$300
Kansas State at Oklahoma Line: Oklahoma by 14. Saturday, 7:50 p.m.
What's with this start time? 7:50? What the hell is that? At any rate, I like good teams going into the bye because they tend to be focused.
College Football Pick: Oklahoma -14 (1 Unit) -- Incorrect; -$110
No real objection to the Watkins pick for Cleveland in the 3rd, but if there is an olinemen there worthy of the pick it should be that. We need olinemen in a bad way. Also we are getting Desmond Bryant back and have Shelton, modern, and Nassib who is a promising prospect
Good mock draft. But as a life-long Raiders fan who watched every game I can tell you our LB corps was sufficient. The Media may not know names like Perry Riley Jr. or Ben Heeney but they played exceptionally well when called upon. An OLB to replace Malcolm Smith however would be a good idea. But I think we need a RB, one like D'onta Freeman or Dalvin Cook. Latavius is a poor RB who runs too upright and gives up at the end of runs. We can't always rely on Derek Carr to carry the team. Peppers is definitely an exceptional player but with Reggie Nelson, Karl Joseph, and of course, Khalil Mack, LB/S is not a pressing issue. Interior DL or RB.
What an exciting weekend of football that was and we're one step closer to the Super Bowl. Sadly, more teams have been set in their draft position after this weekend. Getting closer to the deadline to declare for the draft to help round out this draft class. As per usual please leave comments and reactions I always try to reply and give some feedback.
