By the way, the fourth-annual Walter/Joker Annual Challenge is on, as I'll be competing with the Joker's College Picks. We each pick five games and see who does the best each week.
Rice at Houston Line: Houston by 27.5. Thursday, 8:00 p.m.
As a disclaimer, don't go nuts with my college football picks. I'm much better at picking NFL games (though not this year); I'm just doing these upon request. Follow @walterfootball for updates.
Houston is on fire right now, and I expect them to keep rolling. Considering Rice is traveling during the week (since Rice and Houston are so far away from each other), I don't see how they can possibly keep up with the Cougars.
College Football Pick: Houston -27.5 (5 Units) -- Correct; +$500
Northwestern at Indiana Line: Northwestern by 9. Saturday, 12:00 p.m.
I know Indiana's not any good, but Northwestern stinks too. They don't deserve to be road favorites of this much, especially after an emotional loss against Penn State.
College Football Pick: Indiana +9 (2 Units) -- Incorrect; -$220
Washington State at Oregon Line: Oregon by 35. Saturday, 3:00 p.m.
I took the Ducks last week, and I'm picking them again. This has blowout written all over it.
College Football Pick: Oregon -35 (3 Units) -- Incorrect; -$330
Oklahoma at Kansas State Line: Oklahoma by 13.5. Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
I think Kansas State has a good shot of winning this one outright, so I'm definitely taking the points. Overrated Oklahoma will be flat following its loss to Texas Tech.
College Football Pick: Kansas State +13.5 (2 Units) -- Incorrect; -$220
Wisconsin at Ohio State Line: Wisconsin by 7. Saturday, 8:00 p.m.
Another flat team. I don't know how Wisconsin will get up for this game after losing on that Hail Mary.
College Football Pick: Ohio State +7 (2 Units) -- Correct; +$200
@Steel Willy The funny thing is, OLB, S, and CB entered free agency as bigger needs than DL, RB, and WR and in free agency, DL, RB, and WR depth were all added while out of OLB, S, and CB, depth was added to only one of those positions, yet Walt ignores CB, S, and OLB but gives them RB, WR, and DL. Another funny thing is offense is the stronger unit, yet the majority of the picks for Pittsburgh is offensive players. Not to mention, Buddha Baker and Derek Rivers being available at pick 62, and Walt having Pittsburgh pass on both is insanity
I like the change for the lions in round 1, adoree jackson had to go. DT from Auburn is a need, not as pressing as others (DE, LB, CB) but with him being a pass rusher it kinda makes up for it. RB and TE round 3 and 4? I don't hate it but it sounds more Martin Mayhew than Bob Quinn. I thin the run on defense in 4 out of the first 5 picks.... The Kareem Hunt pick I like but hopefully later than a 3
