Colorado vs. Washington.
Line: Washington by 8.

Friday, 9:00 p.m.

As a disclaimer, don't go nuts with my college football picks. I'm much better at picking NFL games (which is saying a lot). Follow @walterfootball for updates.

Colorado has a very good defense, and we saw what happens to Jake Browning when he goes up against a great stop unit. USC absolutely crushed him, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Colorado did the same thing. This should be a low-scoring affair, so that makes me look toward the underdog. Also, I like the conspiracy theory angle here, as a Washington loss would open up the strong possibility of two Big Ten teams making the playoffs, which is a wet dream for the NCAA.

College Football Pick: Colorado +8 -115 (3 Units)

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma.
Line: Oklahoma by 11.

Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

This is a big game, which means Bob Stoops is in play to choke. I think this number is too high, anyway. Oklahoma State would have one loss right now if it wasn't for a horrible call by the referees in one of the games, so if the Cowboys were 10-1 instead of 9-2, they would be talked about as the fourth team in the playoff, and as a result, this number would be lower; perhaps the Sooners would be -7 or so. I'm taking the points with the better defense.

Florida vs. Alabama.
Line: Alabama by 24.

Saturday, 4:00 p.m.

This spread is about six points too high. Alabama has beaten teams of Florida's ilk - Texas A&M, Auburn, etc. - by 18 points or so, and that's what I expect the margin to be in this game. The Gators have a great defense, so I think they'll be able to keep this contest close. No one is giving them a chance at all, so I like the "us against the world" mentality they'll have going into the SEC Championship.

College Football Pick: Florida +24 (3 Units)

Virginia Tech vs. Clemson.
Line: Clemson by 10.5.

Saturday, 8:00 p.m.

Virginia Tech has averaged 34.3 points over their previous six games, and I like them to continue their torrid pace against a Clemson squad that I've been fading regularly this year. Sometimes it has worked; sometimes it hasn't. However, the Tigers just aren't as good as some people think they are. They've had so many close calls this year, and they're lucky to still be the No. 3 seed in the playoff. An upset wouldn't shock me, but I think the Hokies stay within single digits.

College Football Pick: Virginia Tech +10.5 -115 (3 Units)

Penn State vs. Wisconsin.
Line: Wisconsin by 3.

Saturday, 8:00 p.m.

Both of these teams have been overrated this year, as they've been lucky in some of their big victories. This includes last week, when Penn State trailed before Michigan State lost its starting backfield. However, I think the Nittany Lions are the right side in this contest, especially with the +3 -115 that's available at CRIS and BetUS. This should be a close game, but Penn State should be able to out-grind the Badgers and eventually pull away.

Follow me @walterfootball to see if anything changes.
