Stanford vs. Wisconsin
Line: Stanford by 6.5.
Jan. 1, 5:00 p.m.
As a disclaimer, don't go nuts with my college football picks. I'm much better at picking NFL games (at least I used to be); I'm just doing these upon request. Follow @walterfootball for updates.
No one expected Stanford to be in the Rose Bowl exhibition game prior to the season. I doubt the Cardinal players expected it. But here they are, ready to take on the Big Ten champs. They'll be up for Wisconsin, a team that just isn't very good. Trust me, I've bet against the Badgers a couple of times this year.
College Football Pick: Stanford -6.5 (1 Unit)
Northern Illinois at Florida State
Line: Florida State by 13.5.
Jan. 1, 8:30 p.m.
Remember when Florida State was undefeated and everyone was talking about the team possibly battling Alabama in the national championship? Well, the Semionles have certainly fallen. Sure. they've been invited to a meaningless BCS bowl (aren't they really just the same as the other ones?) but they have to take on Northern Illinois. Why would they care about stupid Northern Illinois? Meanwhile, the Northern Illinois players have spent the past month listening to why they don't belong in a stupid BCS bowl. They'll be pumped to prove everyone wrong.
College Football Pick: Northern Illinois +13.5 (2 Units)
Oregon vs. Kansas State
Line: Oregon by 8.5.
Jan. 3, 8:30 p.m.
What was that Kansas State loss to Baylor? Seriously, how was an undefeated team embarrassed like that against a mediocre opponent so late in the year? The Ducks are at least legit. They should be able to prevail over Bill Snyder, who has a 4-9 spread record in bowl games.
College Football Pick: Oregon -8.5 (1 Unit)
Kent State vs. Arkansas State
Line: Arkansas State by 3.5.
Jan. 6, 9:00 p.m.
The fourth BCS bowl I'd like to discuss is Kent State versus Arkansas State. This one must be super important because it's being played just one day prior to the national championship.
This may surprise you, but this is Kent State's first bowl appearance since 1972. I was certainly shocked because I assumed the Flashes made it to one when Julian Edelman quarterbacked the team. They'll be pumped to play Arkansas State.
College Football Pick: Kent State +3.5 (2 Units)
Alabama vs. Notre Dame
Line: Alabama by 9.5.
Jan. 7, 8:30 p.m.
Always bet on the SEC team in the BCS championship*. That's what I've learned over the years. Dating back to 2006, the SEC is a perfect 5-0 versus non-SEC competition in the BCS championship.
* - Note that this is not technically the national championship. This is the BCS Championship. The winner wins the BCS, but if the voters should choose to vote, say, Texas A&M No. 1 after this contest, the Aggies would technically split the title with Alabama. Just sayin'.
Alabama has too much defensive power for Notre Dame's offense to handle. In fact, the Tide's speed is just going to be overwhelming. The Irish should be competitive for a while, but Alabama will eventually pull away and win by 14-20 points.
College Football Pick: Alabama -9.5 (1 Unit)

I saw that their #1 running backs are out. Haven't seen anything on the linebackers. Even if they did start I still don't see Mizzou coming within 10 of ASU.
ASU 1 unit under 2 units FIU 1 unit. my research wasn't very extensive. My hangover has given me the attention span of an 8 yr old w/o his ritalin. Good luck

This MU game looks like its going to be a blowout. And that's hard for me to say. I lived there for 10yrs and graduated from there. I'm liking.
I won't bet against them but I'm looking at the over under right now.

I love ASU but hate how the spread jumped from -7 to now being -9.5. Huge advantage though. For asu being that both starting linebackers are out for Missouri tonight. Asu boasts a potential defensive player of the year. I will be back for a clearer breakdown and specifics since this game starts at 10.

Holy sh!t!! What a game last night. Great start to the season!!! Lost on NO but got the over and ok state. Lost the over on college but thanks to BIGRI it was only a unit. I thought the cowboys would score all day and it started out looking that way. Up 21-0 and I started watching NFL. So not sure what happened. Anyways, let's get some conversations going on tonights games.
At first glance Im leaning towards FIU and ASU.

Couldn't agree with you more bigri. Blackmon is listed at. 6'2" but his reach and mad hops make him a tough read for dbacks. He was my favorite to watch last year. I can't wait for this game to start!!!!!

@ Sweetmullet
They do have that kinda of potential. Unlike Arizona they're running back gets the rock and will probably get over 100 yards. The reason they can put up that many points is b/c they're built for the big play. I expe4ct Blackmon to get targeted 20 times and this kid is no joke. If those corners look in the backfield or bite they wont catch him from behind. I believe they show their offense is ELITE tonight.

I'm going to put 1 unit on the
Over for ok state. I honestly think this will be a blow out and they'll put scrubs in for the fourth again. Ok state isfully capable of scoring 60 points themselves. 5 units ok state 1 unit over NFL 3 units new orleans And 2 units over |
