Dreaming Big - Crazy Browns draft take 2 by JohnnyPipes
Published at 2/11/2018 8:29:50 PM

I'll start with the Browns big 3 FA signings which include: QB Kirk Cousins, WR Allen Robinson, and CB Trumaine Johnson... This kind of FA spending to go with the draft capital the Browns hold, could see a rather quick turn around finally take place in Believeland!!!! I'll also place the Viking QBs with Keenum staying in Minny, but Bradford heading to Miami and Bridgewater landing in Arizona... (slightly different than my 1st crazy mock)... I see the Eagles holding on to Foles for awhile until they are 100% certain Wentz is healthy... I haven't found a home for Taylor yet but think he'd be available in a trade and not cut (if cut he finds a home ;) )... on to the draft:

Round 1

1. Jets: Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA

Jets trade pick 6, pick 37, pick 49, and a 2nd rounder in 2019 to move up to pick 1 where they select the best pure passer in the draft... Rosen has his issues, but his throwing mechanics are superb and he is near ready... if Rosen can stay healthy and dedicates himself to football, he could become an elite paser in the NFL

Trade Value
1st overall 3000

6th overall 1600
37th overall 530
49th overall 410
2nd rounder in 2019 to make up for remaining 460

2. Giants: Sam Darnold, Quarterback, USC

Giants might go in a different direction with Rosen gone, but I think they would still take Sam and let him learn.... Darnold needs to work on mechanics and ball security, but he has a really high ceiling with some really nice intangibles...

3. Colts: Bradley Chubb, Defensive End, N.C. State

Colts take the 1st non QB, and they go with the best pass rusher... they could consider Barkley or their best OL or even a trade down themselves - but Chubb makes the most sense for Indy here...

4. Browns: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State

Browns use the 4th pick to take a generational talent at running back... RBs this high are often frowned upon, but Barkley is a 230lbs back that runs a 4.3, does everything well, and has great character to go with it all... besides the Browns have a ton of draft capital and already landed some huge FA targets to help justify this guy so high ;)

5. Broncos: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Wyoming

Broncos go with the rawest of the QB prospects - but Allen also comes with physical attributes to drool for... Elway can't pass on his chance to develop a true franchise QB prospect, especially with his need for a QB still at the top of the Broncos list

6. Browns: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety, Alabama

After trading down with the Jets, the Browns make DB Minkah Fitzpatrick their 2nd pick in the draft and the 6th guy off the board... with the FA addition of CB Trumaine Johnson to go with Fitzpatrick, Minkah would be used as a centerfielding FS that allows us to put Peppers into the SS role he belongs in.... the additions of Johnson in FA and Fitzpatrick in the draft would help turn the Browns weakness in the secondary into a strength...

7. Buccaneers: Arden Key, Defensive End, LSU

Bucs take a chance and grab an extremely talented pass rusher that has some red flags... Key has top 10 talent and if he can stay focussed on football he could be a star but he'll need a decent combine and to interview well before he gets picked in the top 10 right now - I'm assuming he does...

8. Bears: Calvin Ridley, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Bears add the best WR for their young QB... not many have Ridley as a top 10 prospect, but almost every board sees him as the best WR in this draft... Bears are happy to take Calvin here as they have a huge need for a top receiver...

9. 49ers: Quenton Nelson, Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

49ers grab the best OL in the draft... it might look strange to see a guard in the top 10 and before any OTs, but Nelson is the real deal and the 49ers have a need for interior help.. this is actually great value for San Fran...

10. Raiders: Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

Raiders take the best LB in the draft... Even if Bowman sticks around, the Raiders could use a beast like Smith, bu if Bowman leaves this becomes that much more pressing...

11. Bills: Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma

Bills trade pick 21, pick 56, and pick 96 to move up to pick 11 and select their future franchise QB (or so they hope)... Baker is a polarizing prospect with his lack of height and a few other concerns, but he's a Heisman winning, extremely competitive, hard worker that the Bills are happy to move up for...

Trade Value
11th overall 1250

21st overall 800
56th overall 340
96th overall 116

12. Bengals: Mike McGlinchey, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

Bengals grab the best OT in the draft... McGlinchey still being available at 12 would be the perfect scenario for Cinci as they need lots of help on their OL...

13. Redskins: Derwin James, Safety, Florida State

Skins could go many different directions here and a big DT also makes some sense, but James feels like the best player available and is also at a position of need...

14. Packers: Joshua Jackson, Cornerback, Iowa

Pack need a solid CB and Jackson is a stud... if the Pack lose Mathews, OLB might need to be addressed, but it would be hard to pass on Jackson here...

15. Cardinals: Orlando Brown, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma

Cards could use some OL help and when they see Brown still available, they are happy to take him...

16. Ravens: Courtland Sutton, Wide Receiver, SMU

Ravens grab a big bodied WR that just feels like a perfect fit... Courtland has great size and is a good red zone threat...
